The only thing that has stemmed my anger over Accredo is coming online to see all the complaints that have been written about them over similar reasons things that I've been dealing with. Its horrible to consider since this is a company whose decisions can greatly effect the health of their customers but at least there is some solidarity in knowing that I'm not alone. I feel like there should be an Accredo survivor's support group. I've never written an online review or complaint about anything in my life, but this is warranted.
My insurance changed about 4-5 months ago, as did my pharmacies. I have a chronic illness and take several different medications to manage it. There are 4 different medications that I have to get from Accredo every month and 2 of them are bi-monthly/alternating...read any of the other reviews to get an idea what this wonderful experience is like for 1 medication. So you can imagine the confusion that 4 medications cause with this incompetent pharmacy. Every month that I actually receive the medications that I need feels like a miracle because RX's are consistently being lost, orders disappear without any calls being made to notify of delays or problems, correct supplies are never sent, medications that require refrigeration are packed with very little insulation and ice packs, medications that do not require refrigeration are sent in oversized containers with a massive supply of ice packs, etc. There's no accountability when things go wrong, no answers, no phone calls on canceled or delayed shipments. You have to call every day from the day you place an older and hold their hand throughout the entire process until the shipment actually arrives. I think the company starts a new day by hitting a universal reset button first thing in the morning because often, what will happen, is your orders become lost and there's no record of them ever existing. So each time you speak with a new person, you have to completely re-explain everything starting at zero.
At best, when things go right, you're on the phone for 30 minutes, minimum because the customer rep's are apparently trained to repeat everything a few times. Usually this is a technique employed to avoid errors, but obviously it's not utilized that way for Accredo.
With my old pharmacy, customer service reps knew my name by voice (or maybe caller ID), they knew me as a person, what I was doing in my life, etc...but more importantly, they knew exactly what I needed each month and the phone calls were 5 minutes, at most, once a month, period. I got what I ordered every time, within a business day. Every, single, time. Other pharmacies, have been less personal, but they've at least asked about the weather where I live. I've talked to more different people with Accredo then I have with any other pharmacy and none of them have ever asked about the weather. At this point, I just hope Accredo doesn't kill me. read more
