As a 30-something male, I am what you'd probably consider to be a non-traditional patient since I am often older than many of the parents sitting in the waiting room with their kids. I was quite nervous about moving forward with getting braces for all the usual reasons--cost, care, inconvenience, getting teased by school yard bullies etc. Ok,I embellished the last one, but you catch my drift. From my initial consultation with Cara, I was put at ease and impressed with the care that the staff puts forth. She helped me figure out what my insurance would cover and all the money matters, even making a friendly inquiry months later since I was dragging my feet on going through with it. I finally mustered up the courage about 6 months after my consultation and made the transformation to metal mouth. I am probably annoying with all of my questions ranging from important to insignificant, but the staff has all been so great to me throughout this process that my anxieties have been quelled. Dr. Chad Kelley has done nice work and I am very happy with how great my teeth are looking now. I am getting closer to the end of my treatment and am going to miss seeing all my new buddies I've made over the last 1.5 years. They seem to truly enjoy what they are doing and it makes for a better experience. I highly recommend TC Ortho to anyone that needs braces.

Don't fall for these standard orthodontics MARKETING gimmicks, they use standard dental expanders or "airway orthodontics" wires designed to purely push and tip the teeth, These provide zero structural airflow relief. Skeletal expansion is very new and very specialized, find a provider who operates in this specific niche not just aligning the teeth and creating the "right smile". I was informed to wait and discuss this with the original Doctor who put The braces on ( he was out on maternity leave so he wasn't the one that took them off at the end or seen me on my follow up appointment) unfortunately with the pandemic shutting everything down I haven't been back since I have attempted to get in multiple times however the schedules never aligned, while I wore braces for over 2 1/2 years I find myself needing them again because my needs were never properly addressed or met at Kottemann orthodontist (I still wear my retainer every night and sometimes during the day, two years later) while I was dissatisfied with the overall results, I opted taking my business elsewhere and didnt want to bother with complaining or whining however I am so frustrated not only am I dissatisfied with the results of my $6000 investment but I have just received a call from a collection that they sent me to and according to this collection agency I owe them $280, I paid over $6000 spent two years going to appointments Just to repeat it all over again to get the results I'm looking for and spend another $4000 elsewhere kottemann orthodontist thinks and making look like I skipped on my bill? I am beyond frustrated and after speaking with a friend of mine who went there and reading all the glowing reviews that I'm reading from others I am coming to one conclusion which is our treatment at kotteman would have been much different if our eyes were always blue or green like the rest of your customers, maybe then you would have been more attentive to our concerns and experience! I was just going to walk away and get service elsewhere and spend more money on fixed what I already paid over 6k to get fixed by you but now I am not. You think I owe you $280, I think you owe $6200 + my time and mileage. I wouldn't recommend this place to any of my family or friends or People of color.

They then…read moretransfer you to their other office, as they have some emergency openings, but once transferred, they tell you nope, and advise to call a different dental office that they give you the number for. You also get told by them sorry, we don't take Medicare and/or Delta Dental for new clients. so, I haven't slept all night, my jaw is swollen, and when I try to brush, I bleed like crazy, all while in pain.

They always take on the burden of getting my insurance situation sorted and make sure to follow up with me if I've had significant work done to make sure I'm doing ok. Dr. McHugh is who I see and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Very knowledgeable, great bedside manner, and never tries to push services you don't need. He's always continuing his education as well and has been certified to do implants, for example. He's done a few for me that went great and was much cheaper than going to a specialist/surgeon. He was very precise with the color matching and at the end of the day, he just wants you to have a great experience to go along with a great smile. I tried to call and make an appointment in December and was put on hold for a half an hour! Not just once but 3 times!! All 3 times, no one picked up or checked on me after that. So I hung up. So that forced me to HAVE to drive there to set up an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out. When I got there, I yelled at them and told them what happened. They apologized but didn't give me a reason as to why no one picked up again. It's really hard to make me mad but this, made me angry. I was finally able to get a date to get my wisdom teeth out. My doctor and her assistant did an amazing job with my wisdom teeth and making me feel comfortable. I had no problems with them. They helped me try to relax because I was so nervous. Ended up waking up in the middle of the process and so they had to make sure I was out for it since I didn't want to be awake. Everything else went great. But fast forward to a few weeks later. It's the beginning of January and I'm back in school. Earlier one morning I was brushing my teeth and accidentally hit one of the openings. Later that day my cheek started to get hard, puffy, and warm. So I went to my schools clinic. I told them what happened and they said I need to go to the Ortho as they thought it was a infection and they don't have anything to deal with that. So I did. Went into this place and told the desk what happened and they told me I need to make an appointment!! Seriously?! They didn't even check with my doctor to see if she can see me real quick. I told them ok and set one up (the only opening they had was one that was a week later!) but by then I'm pissed off yet again. What happened if I go to the hospital for this? What happens if it got worse? What happened if it's really really serious? So I took my stuff and went all the way to my dentist office in Pheasant Ridge. They were able to get me in and checked on even though they are busy. We figured out the problem. It was an infection. We were also able to get me help to fix the infection. Overall, the people at the front desk of this specific location seem to not care about their costumers. They were there to work but not help people. They never admit that it was their fault and blamed in on everything else. Glad I will never need to come here again for anything and if I do, you bet that I won't be as nice as I was last time because this whole thing was not ok .

My spouse went to their appt this past week and the dental office told him they stopped taking our insurance despite the letter stating we had thru 12/1. No one ever bothered to contact me or my spouse to inform us of this. A waste of time! Had they contacted us in a timely manner we would have cancelled the appt. They are backed up you need 2 outstanding appts at all times else you will waste your 2 cleanings per year. Staff here are decent. The location is clean and well maintained.

Several bad experiences there. I walk out angry all the time You are just a number, not a patient.
