I am a middle aged woman with a bit of a belly (size 14-16) and because of the high level of style I was sure nothing in Adi's beautiful boutique would fit me. But much to my surprise not only did much of her clothing fit me but her expert sales team quickly figured out my style and everything they gave me to try on looked better than I could have imagined. I feel Ed l like 50 is the new 30!! The only downside is that I walked out of her store with many more purchases than I had anticipated, which is really not bad as I am thrilled with all of them. Really cheaply made clothing at high prices. They have a racket as part of their" sales. "The signs are always 30 to 50% off leading one to think that's what they would get only to find out that they tell you it's already marked down.. . If you try to make a return even with a receipt and all the tags attached you are stuck with a store credit! Be sure you buy what you really love otherwise you will have to buy something else. You will never get your money back. The staff are very friendly and very nice. They apparently have no leeway and must do as the owner says. I would suggest that whatever you buy there you would wash before you wear it. Everything is very heavily dyed. read more

Accolade sells an eclectic array of women's clothing and accessories, but even for someone who appreciates a simpler style, there are some gems amongst the racks of colorfully patterned offerings. There are a few cute shirts, but for the most part the clothes are too flower child for me. My issue is back in the customer service. Several years ago, I bought clothes I eventually returned for a store credit. Addie, the owner, told me she would keep track of all credits in a box at the register. She told me that she would always keep them and that I did not need to keep my receipt. I would stop by periodically but never saw anything. I finally did the other day but was told that I needed my original store credit. When I told Addie I didn't have it, she said there was nothing she could do because she had thrown away all of her prior store credits when she moved locations. I understand that it's been quite a while since I had been issued the store credit. But when I asked if I could get a discount on a $14 shirt, I was just told no. And in addition, she does not seem very civic oriented. I've asked a couple of times if she would donate to a school auction, but she has declined. read more

I will never shop here again! Over a year ago I purchased clothing at Accolade that later needed to be returned. First thing you should know: they have a very strict return policy. After they refused the return for a refund, they said I could have a store credit. There was nothing I could purchase for $60 except for a necklace. The necklace was actually adorable, although I didn't need it. Nor would I spend $60 for cute necklace. Second time I wore the necklace it broke. I brought it back to store and asked them if there was anything at all they could do. They took the necklace and my phone number and said they'd let me know. They never called. They never returned my broken necklace. I went back several times, and was promised a call each time. And that's that. read more

I was visiting NYC and staying right around the corner. What a lucky coincidence. This is such an incredible store, and I happened upon it just when they were practically giving away their summer stock. I typically don't like salespeople trying to be helpful, but the salesperson here was like a best friend. I didn't want to leave! Besides clothes, I also bought three necklaces and two handbags. I've worn two of the necklaces, and I've never received so many compliments - even from salespeople in other stores in the neighborhood! Somewhat of a bait-and-switch approach to sales. Despite widely advertised 30-50% off sales, anything you'd want to buy is not included - the sales items are not clearly marked. I was left with the distinct impression that once you have been pegged as naive and unlikely to argue you are made to pay full price, while "regulars" or more vocal clients benefit from the bargains. read more
