I really didn't enjoy my experience with Access, partly because I was using the storage for an unusual period (just one day) and partly because I was charged a lot of unexpected fees and felt the company was uncooperative and not very customer friendly. They demand up front rent payment with refunds for unused time, but won't refund to your card, only send a cheque. Check in took an hour because they had computer issues but the facility, the staff and even the pricing are all actually good, hence 3 stars overall.
Things to know:
BRING A LOCK, or they'll try to sell you one. This was a pain mainly because I was only going to use it for such a short period of time. Anyone who's ever used self storage before probably knows this already and it was mentioned somewhere in the welcome email.
INSURANCE: I wasn't sure if my house insurance covered self storage, and if you don't have paper work to prove it then you are forced into paying Access for their insurance. They also offer no pro rata refund on insurance so I had to pay for the minimum period (a week or a month, can't remember) even though I only used it for a day.
It's like flying Ryanair. Be prepared and it'll get the job done, otherwise you'll feel like you're getting screwed. read more
