My mobility scooter was damaged when a car smashed into my garage door in May, and my homeowner's…read moreinsurance said they would cover any repairs. We called Numotion, waited 3 weeks for a technician to come look and assess the damages. He said what was wrong, and promised to give us an estimate to repair it so that we could report the estimate to our homeowners insurance. Numotion called us twice to ask the name of my physician and medical insurance. We explained that this is irrelevant info, and that we needed an estimate for HOMEOWNERS insurance, not medical insurance. They promised that they'd get that to us. That was May. I waited another month. I called them again in eary July, and was forwarded to Keith. Keith said that he found the order sheet, and that it has been sitting there for over a month. No part had been ordered, and nothing had been done with it. I explained again that I needed an estimate for homeowners insurance, and he promised to get that to me right away. He never called back. It is now the last week of July, I am going on vacation in two weeks, and my scooter has not been repaired. Numotion Fort Wayne has GOT to get it together. When you call them on the phone, you will wait 5-10 minutes on hold before anyone will answer. They really need some leadership and customer service training. I'm calling today---wish me luck. If they do not have the part and cannot have this repaired within two weeks, I'm just going to order the part myself on Amazon and fix it. At this point, we think that the homeowner's insurance has probably closed the claim, so I'm not even sure I'd be able to have it covered anyway. This is really, really poor service.

In some ways, this review is merely a supplement to my original 2-star review based upon my…read moreoverwhelmingly negative experiences dealing with Numotion and buying a new wheelchair. While I considered simply editing my rating and allowing my original review to stand, I've had multiple experiences since the original purchase that are worth sharing and I believe further expand upon my considerable concerns about this company. As I noted in my original review, the front wheels were a fairly significant concern pretty much from the point of delivery. They were wheels that I had very specifically identified as inappropriate for a highly active wheelchair user and they were simply too small. Even in my employer's parking garage, wheeling across the surface has been a bumpy, jostling experience. Originally, I met with the Numotion rep and the occupational therapist a second time trying to resolve some of the concerns. There was a modest attempt to resolve the fact that I had some trouble transferring to/from my wheelchair with a fully inflated cushion. While it wasn't entirely successful, I'll give them a little credit for trying. The wheel problem? Pretty much ignored. So, I ended up about five months down the road with my $4,000 wheelchair becoming increasingly difficult to wheel (as I'd predicted). I contacted Numotion to express my concerns. After a couple of weeks of no response, I contacted through my VR counselor and it was nearly another two weeks before I received a response. This response? It was to transfer me to the Indianapolis office. so that someone could more quickly arrange to assess the wheelchair (theoretically). So, here I was in a brand new wheelchair that didn't work as it should have. The wheelchair had taken months longer to receive than originally targeted with multiple obstacles along the way. If you read my reviews regularly, you know that I tend to be a fair evaluator. While I won't hesitate to give a 1-star when appropriate, I tend to try to resolve things and, to quote Monty Python, tend to look on the bright side of life. I honestly find it appalling that I would be simply delegated to a different office without proper notice or contact. I find it appalling that I've never received even a semblance of an apology for my ongoing challenges - all of which are well documented. I can say without question that Numotion, both the Fort Wayne and Indianapolis offices, has easily been the worst medical equipment experience I've had in my life. I'm currently wrapping up a finally achieved replacement, not to my desire nor done appropriately, of the defective wheels. I will, of course, be doing a review of the Indianapolis office and, sad to say, it ain't going to be pretty but it might be slightly better than Fort Wayne depending upon how billing issues resolve themselves since they seem hellbent on charging my insurance for the defective merchandise they sold. It's official. Numotion is "no motion."
