Although I live in California, my mom lives in Florida & uses this medical group. I was recently in…read moretown & accompanied her to her scheduled appointment with nurse practitioner, Cathering Smith. The NP was ill & wore a mask. During the appointment, she lowered her mask to talk & was within 3 to 4 feet of us. Within a day & 1/2 my mom became ill. Very disappointed in this health pRoFeSsIoNaL? Why didn't she just stay home?? The appointment was a complete disaster. I inquired into my mom's meds, she on a statin & her cholesterol is 184!!! STATINS ARE A KILLER. I also inquired about the 40 mg of metformin she was on eventhough she is NOT diabetic. The NP had nothing to say. She only tried horrifically to push VACCINES. We said NO to Covid & FLU. THEN she tried pushing the shingles & the pneumonia shots!! This medical UNpRoFeSsIoNaL needs some retraining. It was PATHETIC. My mom didn't even know WHY she had an appointment. They told me they are proactive with their members & have them come in monthly. For what? To push their BIG PHARMA DRUGS down these poor uneducated seniors? I inquired as to my mom seeing a doctor because she felt like this dr (mom didn't realize she wasn't a doctor) didn't listen to her. She had inquired about a Mammogram & was told she was too old for that screening. My mom also told the NP she felt weak & was wondering what she could recommend for that. The NP recommended a B12 shot but she didn't follow through on it. The NP didn't listen at all to my mom. She had her own agenda. Then as we left, we were handed the medical records of ANOTHER PATIENT. Didn't realize it until we were outside. HUGE HIPPA VIOLATION I am reporting to the State. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS MEDICAL GROUP!

New I have been with Dedicated Senior Medical Center for 16…read moremonths and it is progressively declining. Dr Torres, Dr Tynes and Nurse Practitioner Singh is what keeping them afloat. They are solid gold! The volition of Dedicated Seniors model plan they had is failing They must strive to achieve a better stabilization of staff. Now the staff is like a revolving door. There is no continuity of care with Senior patients when they are constantly firing and pulling staff from other centers to cover. Then the other staff goes back to their original center and you have to deal with more new people who don't know your situation or medical issues. Quit UNPROFESSIONAL and "dangerous "THEY ARE NO LONGER A PATIENT ADVOCATE! I have only been there for 16 months and they have created a negative environment and they aren't informing the patients of any changes. "That is "not until the situation arrives! When I joined there was a beautiful, warm community that connected with the patients and knew what made us happy and spent time with us. There were all sorts of events and activities and healthy snacks with a progressive, clean and organized used clothes section and free farm days with wholesome vegetables and fruits. . You didn't find out about it by patients talking about it. The staff let you know everything that was available to you. The whole staff encouraged movement and they understood the importance of independent mobility. The staff was happy and friendly with each other. Now just the opposite, no one except one or two people smiles and look you in the eyes. No one acknowledges that you entered the Center. Staff is nervous, not talking, looking for things, feeling uncertain and uncomfortable and it reflects in their non connection with the patient. Who wants to go to a center where no one is friendly and afraid and avoid questions. I don't like being lied to. To avoid answering a question when they know the answer but is afraid to say it, is an act of lying. Last week we had our regular scheduled Tai Chi class. All of the patients who attended drive their own car to get there. Which is costly because of high gas prices but they love the instructor and know the importance of movement for the elderly. Upon arriving people in the class told us it was canceled and that the instructor had been notified. They knew that it was very unlikely for the instructor not to notify them. So they waited in the lobby until the instructor showed up. We could not go into our usual meeting room because all of the staff were in a mandatory meeting where we had Tai Chi. The instructor asked what was going on and why wasn't she notified. They said they called the instructor and she said well that's me and no one called me to cancel the class. The instructor was very proactive and said well these people will have the class because I wasn't informed. So we all helped in moving chairs and tables and had our class there in the lobby. Which was a positive move by the management. We are all over 65 and need our exercise and socialization. It didn't cost the Center because everyone came with their own car, we set up the lobby and moved everything back. But they always use to have available water to drink for all of our activities because most seniors are dehydrated and don't drink enough. The hydration is important for activities, high blood pressure, different diseases and merely to encourage people to drink when exposed to sun and hot temperatures. There were salty snacks which is bad for blood pressure, renal problems and cardiovascular problems. No more fruit available in nearly 2-3 months . There are no more really good snacks. Most ships fail to sail with all new hand decks. The captain ( Dr Torres and his first mate nurse Practitioner Singh fortunately are still there at the helm. But they need help. I was told when I started that they had several Doctors in the Center working. I have yet to see another doctor unless they are rotating doctors divided between all of the Clinics. Too much has changed in my short time there since I arrived 16 months ago and I am not happy or satisfied. I have said goodbye to several friends who have moved on because they weren't happy here anymore.

He is always kind, sincere, and takes the time to truly listen. He explains everything clearly and never makes you feel rushed. Like many practices, they've had some staffing challenges, but honestly--who hasn't? I'm a business professional myself, and I know firsthand how difficult it is to find and retain good people these days. That said, my visit today was seamless. I arrived at 12:50 for a 1:00 appointment and was out by 1:30. The entire staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and professional. I should have written this review a long time ago. After reading some of the negative reviews, I feel compelled to say this: people need to be patient. You don't know what another patient may be dealing with, and personally, I don't want a doctor who rushes through appointments. I appreciate a physician who takes the time to provide thoughtful, thorough care--and that is exactly what Dr. Canton does. Highly recommend.

Deana the office manager called because when she ran the insurance in their system it was showing our insurance was in a grace period. She flat out said I have to cancel your appointment. My husband said could you please let me call the insurance company to verify. She was insistent that their system shows that we are in a grace period and she had to cancel. He offered to pay out of pocket. She said no because you have insurance. Well in their system we don't, so what's the difference who pays?! Dr. Canton, Deana is condescending and extremely rude to your patients. She is not putting your patients wellbeing in mind. We will not be returning after being so treated so badly.
