My mother passed away two months ago, and navigating everything that comes with that loss felt overwhelming. From the very beginning, their team made the entire process feel straightforward and manageable. They were incredibly respectful, responsive, and handled every detail with care and dignity. One thing that really stood out to me was their pricing. Everything was clearly laid out upfront, all-inclusive, and exactly as quoted--no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons. After dealing with other companies where costs kept creeping up, this level of transparency was such a relief. It allowed us to focus on honoring my mom instead of worrying about unexpected expenses. What stood out most overall was how easy they made everything during such an emotional time. There was no confusion, no added stress--just clear communication and genuine support when it mattered most. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Opal Cremation Services of Greater Los Angeles to anyone going through this process. They truly bring peace of mind when you need it the most.

I would highly recommend. I called a few other places and they weren't nearly as kind or attentive. Opal was a tiny bit more expensive but completely worth it. You get what you pay for.

From the very first phone call they were kind, patient and professional. The ashes were shipped out of the country and they handled all of it. They communicated each step of the way (even tracked the shipment and notified me when it had arrived). They made a very difficult process easy and comforting. I would highly recommend Always There Funeral Services. I hope I do not have to reach out to them again in the near future but when the times comes I will be reaching back out to them.

When my father-in-law passed away in Orange County, our wish was to bring him back to his homeland, Iran, to be laid to rest in his hometown. Pierre helped us from the very beginning with incredible kindness, compassion, and respect. He quickly arranged transportation from Orange County to their facility in Los Angeles and made sure my father-in-law was treated with dignity and care. For the remainder of the process, I worked primarily with Vahik, who handled the extremely complicated international arrangements, permits, documentation, and transportation. Communication was always clear and transparent, and we knew what to expect every step of the way. When political developments unexpectedly suspended flights into Iran while the journey was already underway, Vahik and the team did not give up. They coordinated new documentation in Turkey, found an alternative route to an airport near the Iranian border, and arranged ground transportation so our family could receive my father-in-law and finally bring him to his hometown. During one of the hardest times in our lives, they took an enormous burden off our family. Their compassion, professionalism, communication, and determination to find a solution were truly exceptional. Most importantly, they helped us fulfill our final wish for our loved one and bring him home with dignity. Our family will always be grateful to Pierre, Vahik, and everyone at Always There Funeral Services. I highly recommend them, especially to any family facing the difficult process of international transportation and repatriation of a loved one.

My mother wished to be cremated and so our family turned to Bastian and Perrott because of their…read moregood reviews. But, they let us down. Before a body can be cremated, the cause of death needs to be reported by the doctor and it needs to be registered with the county. My mother died on a Friday afternoon at a board and care facility where she had just entered hospice. I was at the facility along with the hospice nurse during my call to Bastian and Perrott. The hospice nurse and I provided all the information Bastian and Perrott required, including the name of the hospice doctor and his phone number. The hospice nurse assured me the hospice doctor was very responsive and would be available the following Monday (day #3). That Wednesday (day #5), I met with Bob to pick out an urn, get an update and pay. My mother had not been cremated and was told they were still working through the paperwork. I was reassured there was still time for my mother to be cremated--I could pick up her ashes on Saturday for her Sunday (day #9) offsite funeral. Bob said he would call me the next day. I was busy with the funeral arrangements Thursday morning and forgot about Bob until he called that afternoon (day #6). He still did not have the cause of death report, the key factor for cremation to proceed, and was waiting for my mother's regular doctor to respond. I asked why the hospice doctor wasn't involved and why did Bastian and Perrott wait so long to notify me of the delay. Bob explained that they didn't want to bother the family during this stressful time. I told him that I was much more upset now--because it was too late and now impossible to get my mother's ashes to her funeral--than I would have been if he let me know Tuesday or when we met the day before when there was still time. After I got off the phone with Bob, I immediately called the hospice agency. They took care of the cause of death report with the hospice doctor in 1 1/2 hours. They also told me that no one at Bastian and Perrott had ever faxed them the form that the hospice doctor needed to complete. When I called Bastian and Perrott the next day, Friday (day #7), they said they had the doctor's information and now needed to register with LA County. Basically, as soon as the hospice doctor, who they were originally directed to, got involved, the cremation process moved forward very quickly. To further emphasize this, my mother's ashes were ready for pick-up on Tuesday (day #10), three days after the hospice got involved. If Bastian and Perrott had contacted the hospice doctor as they had been directed, or even by day #4/5, my mother's ashes could have been ready for her funeral service. I was extremely disappointed with Bastian and Perrott. They dropped the ball, dithered for over 3 1/2 days, thereby making it impossible for my mother's ashes to be present at her funeral. Instead of responding with sensitivity and real help during an especially sad time, Bastian and Perrott contributed further to our family's distress and pain.
