Not all of the therapists are familiar with the conditions of their patients. This leaves the patient vulnerable to injury. Also, the therapist are limited to calling the patient the night before to schedule patient therapy for the next day, instead of allowing flexibility for doctor appointments by scheduling therapy a week out. Getting in touch with care management to discuss issues is next to impossible. You will be subjected to phone tag. I do not recommend, especially for those we have several doctor appointments each month. read more

We had an emergency surgery in our family that required 24-hour care at home. AccentCare patiently worked with us on the right start date, and provided the type of care that we requested. They were in touch with us every day and made every adjustment that we needed. They would follow up and ask for feedback after each caregiver shift. Their communication was excellent, and they even made themselves available after business hours. AccentCare came very highly recommended from someone in the caregiving industry, and I can see why. Accent Care in Lake Forest has been wonderful to work with. Both my elderly father's caregivers have been professional, polite, patient and genuinely concerned for the well being of my 85 year old dad. Soon after my father moved into his assisted living community, he needed to go to the ER. His caregiver, Kyle, met me at the hospital. He was such an impressive caregiver, with so much empathy, that I left my dad with him so I could finish celebrating my son's birthday. Once my dad returned to his care community, Alvin shadowed my dad for 4 days. Alvin was extremely patient as he had experience with his own mom having dementia. He was polite, respectful and very patient with my dad. While at my dad's community, I met another Accent Care caregiver, she was so warm and kind to my father and me as well. Unlike the bad experiences we had with two other agencies, we had a very good experience with this agency! The main administrative person, Nipsy, was responsive to our needs, always communicated back with us within a reasonable time frame, and followed through on every concern I had. That's rare already and that's just the admin person! Now the other good part; their staff. Every single person who cared for my mom was wonderful! They truly seem to care, took extra efforts to be very kind and supportive to my mom and my brother-who was caring for her- as well. Allow me to voice my experience with ACCENTCARE (which has been horrible) as of today 10/06/2022. My son (who is disabled) was a caregiver ACCENTCARE to his grandmother. When his grandmother ended her service with ACCENTCARE (around the beginning of 2022) my son also ended his employment ACCENTCARE (which at the time was called Gareda Home Care Chicago IL). We received a letter a few weeks ago stating my son was terminated as of 9/16/2022. He and I called and spoke with a gentlemen in Human Resources who stated they never received my sons letter of resignation ( Which I helped him to write as well as mailed it for him ) and that my son needed to speak to Ms.Marisa Trueba. My son spoke with her and stated she said unless we could produce proof of the letter she would not change his termination status. How would it hurt this company to change my son's status from terminated to left voluntarily or even laid off ? How cold and callus do you have to be as a company to be willing to mark a kid for life, because now when asked on a job application have you ever been fired he has to put yes ! No matter how much we explained that my son resigned months ago, ACCENTCARE was still adamant about labeling him as terminated. For a company like ACCENTCARE that makes millions on convincing the public that they care, and spends millions advertising it's humanity. In my dealings with ACCENTCARE what I found was a company that had time for neither ! read more

Nipsy has been amazing. I got Accentcare's number from another homehealth care I called (because the services I was looking for my mom was not what they provided). From day 1 Nipsy has been super friendly, professional and always responding quickly. He helped me find a caretaker for my mom to drive her to golf, groceries etc. It has been about a couple of months and my mom has been getting this service twice a week, and we are happy. Their price is also reasonable and I didn't have to commit to like 3 to 4 days a week schedule like some other place I had called. read more
