My brother has pancreatic cancer, and he is at their Wauwatosa location, at North Ave and 75th street, located on the 4th floor. All the staff that work here are nothing short of amazing, as they work hard to keep my brother comfortable in his last days. I met with Sheila Carter at the hospital my brother was at after a bad fall at home. She went over all the paperwork with us and I could not be happier with this choice. They have 17 units for patients to stay in, and my brother's room was much larger than I thought it would be, with more than enough seating for our large family and friends. The nurses that are taking care of him are Ann and Andrea, and they are both perfect for this job as they are very caring. They know that they might be the last persons that he sees before passing away. Each time we have gone up to see him, they have been checking on him many times an hour. They even showed my wife, Sheryl and myself how to get to give him coconut water applied to his lips, as he cannot drink or eat now. I turned to AccentCare based on St. Louis for Hospice for my sister. She started going downhill fast. Jane came by to evaluate her and spent 2 1/2 hours going over everything with her and explaining everything to us. Jane was extremely professional, direct and caring. She also spoke with the people that cared for my sister. AccentCare took really good care of my sister. The nurses Birgit and I wish I could remember names, were extremely compassionate and always explained everything and called me to update me when I wasn't there. My sister was usually taken care of every day and I cannot say enough good things about everyone who cared for her. I highly recommend St. Louis AccentCare. read more

I would not recommend this provider. During our time of need, we were met with attitude, push back, waiting days for products (i.e. oxygen) to arrive, and when the products arrived, they were old and outdated. Absolute worst home health care service for seniors, bar none. Our family has dealt with multiple companies, which often maintain a physical office and hire contract laborers as nurses, PT & others to facilitate "care" at homes nearby. This company, based in Texas, has the most unresponsive, uncooperative, uncaring, unknowledgeable administration we experienced in the Chicago area. The so called nurses, most without any kind of official certification, were even worse. This includes PT and OT and other so called practitioners. Our loved one was harmed y these people, dismissed as "too old," and egregiously mistreated leading to even more serious health recuperations. The Chicago area administration was unresponsive, cold and demeaning. Their Texas corporate office firewalls itself so you aren't able to communicate with them. These experiences occurred numerous times over the course of many months. The company pays their employees poorly so there's no incentives to do well. The company plugs into local health care networks, promoting itself, making referrals to it easy. Then the company conveniently bills insurances, Medicare etc., but does not provide any kind of decent satisfactory home health care. Accentcare offices throughout Chicago and its corporate parent in Texas are untrustworthy. Be aware. read more

Truly a terrible experience during the worst time in my life. I got a horrifying call a month ago that my father had 2-3 weeks. I went to be with him and care for Him in hospice. I'm in my early 30s and have no siblings and my father was my main familial support. These people never answered my questions, provided very little comfort to me and my father. The nurse, Tommy, was incredible unprofessional. He took hours to arrive, answered personal calls in the middle of his visits with my father, once was just sitting on a chair texting and often would share personal information about my family and father with the other patient's wife in the shared room because they're from the same country, and he could speak with her in their native language. I requested extra services like musical therapy, they only arrived 2 hours before my father died and was not mentally present. They told me I had 8 hours with my father left when I only had 1. I was left alone with my dead father, after watching him die and holding him as he died by myself, and left alone With him waiting for these people for multiple hours. I've had to seek grief support elsewhere because of how unprofessional these people are. I've since been listening to podcasts and reading about hospice, and we received none of the comforting and helpful services I've been learning about. Seasons truly added horror to the most horrific time in my life. read more

Terrible hospice service so far. My dad entered hospice Sunday morning. We have only had the admissions nurse come by and equipment dropped off. It's been 5 days and have not received a nurse come by to see my dad. The social worker did come and she was sweet and caring. Seriously unimpressed. A few weeks ago, my father-in-law, who lived in the Chicago suburbs, was diagnosed with terminal metastatic lung cancer that had spread widely and aggressively. While looking at our options for hospice providers -- originally, he was going to come to Madison with us, then was too ill to travel, so we'd decided on a residential provider in the Chicago area, and started making plans with them -- when his condition worsened unexpectedly and significantly to the point where he was not able to leave the hospital (in-patient hospice instead of residential hospice, for those who know the lingo.) While processing the fact that the rug had been pulled out from under us yes *again,* Seasons, one of the hospice providers we *hadn't* opted to go with called to check on us. We politely told them we'd chosen another option, and that he was now in-patient, unlikely to leave, and instead of the "I'm sorry to hear that; please let us know if there's anything we can do" response we'd gotten from pretty much everyone else we talked to, this was what they said: "Are you sure? Is it okay if we call back in a week or two to make sure you're happy with their service? We'd like to make sure you're satisfied with your choice." I wasn't sure if I should have responded to their question literally ("No, it's NOT okay for you to call us back,") or with as little tact as they did ("It's very unlikely that he'll still BE here in a week for you to try and make a dime off of, so kindly fsck off") so, still in shock, we said nothing. They *did* in fact call back yesterday. They should be thankful my husband was in the shower when they did, or they would have gotten an earful. I completely understand being a for-profit agency (the vast majority of the hospice industry *is* for-profit, evidently,) but I'd appreciate a *tiny* bit of empathy with that quest for a dollar, ESPECIALLY when your industry is defined by the qualification of "[client/customer] has less than six months to live." Go with Residential Hospice instead. They were wonderful to work with; very understanding about our constantly shifting status; treated my father-in-law like a person and not dollar to be made; and incredibly empathetic to everyone involved throughout all of our interactions. read more

I was contacted soon after I wrote this review by the executive director Jason Banks to follow up on my negative experience with Season Hospice. He listened carefully to my explanation and assured me that he would take this into account and follow up with the people involved. He offered me assistance with my brother and I may indeed be reaching out to them in the near future as his health is declining and I will be making some important decisions soon. Horrible experience! ZERO stars! My aunt decided to go on hospice 7/14/2020. She was registered 7/15/2020 with Seasons Hospice & Palliative . A sub-nurse came on 7/17/2020 & again on 7/20/2020 to assess her and left. Her assigned nurse never came (whom was on vacation). An aid never came. No one bathed her, no one gave her medicine(s). They did nothing, but got paid. They even mailed a box, with no instructions. A sub-nurse came again on the day of her death 7/25/2020 in the morning to assess her, change her diaper & bedding & instruct us on the box that was mailed. "Oh that's morphine?" No one ever instructed the care taker of what was mailed or how to administer. My poor aunt never received pain medicine until a few hours before she passed, when the nurse instructed her care giver how to administer the liquid morphine. A few hours later she passed & we actually had two visits by the same nurse that day (who was apologetic & shocked on our service). The family called numerous times, speaking to the supervisor. This is not my understanding of what hospice is. My aunt received no comfort care and no medicine to manage symptoms and ease pain until her last few hours of life on earth. No one has even called the family to apologize for their lack of services. Please do not use this company! I don't want any other family to have to go through this HORRIBLE lack of service! read more

This organization is supposed to provide comfort and care to those who are in hospice as well as their loved ones. The reality could not be further from the truth. My father spent his final days in hospice screaming in pain and torment while we could not get Seasons on the phone, could not get them to direct the facility's dispensing of medications as they promised. We had to call multiple times literally begging them to provide the services they promised. They sold us on the fact that they would be attentive and helpful. Instead, they were impossible to reach, dis not come to the facility as promised , did not know what they were doing and as a result of their unprofessional approach, my father suffered needlessly and horribly. Let me be clear, the caregivers and social worker we worked with are GREAT! The problem is they are stretched way too thin and don't have the availability needed to provide the support that was promised. It's like a "demo disk"...we'll be everything you need...until you actually need us...then you wait and wait. The nurse assigned to us is great, the social worker is also great. But they are working so hard, that they don't always show up as promised or show up hours late because their case load is so heavy. We opted for residential care for my mother. This experience makes me think that the only good hospice care in in a hospital environment. All we want is to get the nurses (and a Doctor, which was promised when we signed up) in to see her...close to the time promised. I'm disappointed in Seasons, but based on the reviews, I'm not sure any others are better. read more

I've had problems from the very first day with Seasons and wish I would have changed companies immediately as suggested by the social worker at the hospital. My husband passed away 120 days ago. Seasons never reached out to offer condolences or grief services that I so desperately need. My neighbor passed away 12 days ago and the family was contacted by that hospice company many times already and received a card signed by each team member that visited this patient and each team member wrote a few nice words about the deceased. Seasons has left me without diapers when 4 people promised to bring them to me. I've had issues with the oxygen not working for my dieing husband and Seasons did not rush to help correct the problem with the oxygen company. Overall, beyond horrible EXCEPT for the nurse and CNA. Did not like that they changed nurse and CNA four times in 6 weeks. My husband needed stability, not change. Horrible company in my experience! read more

We loved the CNAs, Renata and Ivonna. My dad would not listen to anyone but Renata. Jackie, the social worker was very accommodating to my parents' needs. The nurses were Kaitlin, and Diane (?) came once, for an urgent visit. Diane was very helpful in managing his pain, she also ordered suction and humidified oxygen, to improve his comfort. The only negative comment I have is that there were a few times that phone calls did not get returned, or messages not passed on. On the day we needed the urgent visit (not true emergency, but needed a visit that day), I had to call twice, first in the morning, and when no one came by late afternoon, I called again. I requested the chaplain, one evening, then he called in the late morning, but then did not call back to schedule the visit we wanted. Initially we had declined the chaplain. Seemed like it was hard to fit in a requested change, on short notice. Although we never had a true emergency, they did have an on-call RN, and the operators communicated at one point that she could be paged immediately if needed, so I felt comfortable in that respect. This is unfortunately the third time having a family member in hospice, first time with Seasons. I was pleased with Seasons. I would use them again. read more

I worked with Seasons for my moms hospice care at the nursing home she was living at. I was pretty unimpressed! I met with the social worker on a Tuesday evening and we went over all of the documents. The following day the nurse came to visit my mom and evaluate her for admission into their program. The nurse called snd said she checked her out and would be admitting her that day. Well mom only ended up being in hospice until Friday of the same week, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. The nursing home called to notify me and her hospice nurse. I expected to hear from Seasons that night or maybe the next day, but nothing! A full week later a got a half hearted voicemail from the social worker saying she was sorry to hear about mom. at that point it was too little too late! read more

My mom was in Weiss Memorial Hospital with Seasons Hospice. I have never met a more compassionate nurses staff. They alwa y s talk to my mom,played music and made sure she was comfortable. They are all truly angels. GOD BLESS THEM ALL !! read more

Overall, I am satisfied. Sometimes a "5" experience, other times a "what??". Season's provided hospice in a nursing home. On my end, I should have gone online to better understand hospice in a nursing home. Years ago we had in-home hospice for both parents (different provider) and it was much smoother. In reflection, most likely because there was a constant family care-giver, hence greater continuity of communication. Between the different staff/shifts at the nursing home and the several members of Season's assigned team, it was frustrating managing pain care. Our family was fragmented on who could visit the family member and how often. I was the hub but could not be there daily. The patient was a hard read on pain. I've tried to write this several times and there are too many details. The important thing; I wrote this review because I was surprised with the low ratings and feel that others should know we had an "OK" experience. Maybe only those who had low opinions took time to review. End of life care is difficult for all parties. My goal in writing this review is to give credit to Seasons on what went well and to let those who need hospice know that it is a path that needs consistent communications and listening across all parties as well as the acceptance that not everything will feel as if it's been handled perfectly. If I could give zero stars I would! This is an utter waste of Medicare dollars to have another layer of people treating the dying who are just collecting a paycheck. Our mother is at a nursing home where Seasons attends to her.Compared to our Dad who was used another service in March at a hospital this company is awful. He passed in one week, was more comfortable and they company talked to us daily! This company does not exert any effort to keep the family updated. NEVER talked to the chaplain. Only talked to the social worker and CNA once in almost 2 months. The nurse does NOT spend adequate time with the patient to make a proper evaluation at visits - the family has called about obvious status changes and has called the main number for help, all medications prescribed by hospice are as NEEDED meaning the sick patient has to ask for the medication needed for comfort from the nursing home staff (!!!!! hello the patient is too sick to talk let alone know what to ask for), the visiting nurse does not give valuable information on how the patient is doing after each visit to the family meaning the family has had to call the main number to get an update on the patient. When I told the nurse today that my Mom said she is getting "no relief" the nurse's response was, "oh God bless her soul!" Our Mother is dying of cancer and has constant pain and they do NOT give her ANY pain meds on a regular schedule! This 90 year old is going to be dead and gone before being any part of the opioid epidemic. It is heartbreaking to watch our Mother suffer like this. Tomorrow they will be released from caring for her and we are looking for another service. DO NOT HIRE THIS SERVICE! read more
