We had gone through a lot with my dad before he passed away and so we knew what we wanted and what we didn't. Unfortunately, the informal network we used for my dad didn't have women caregivers so we were back to to square one. After doing a lot of research with the local senior center and online we called For Papa's Sake, which is based out of the town next to where my mom lives. From the very first phone call I suspected we had gotten lucky. After a couple of calls and some group discussion between me, my mom and a For Papa's Sake senior person we decided we'd try them out. And am I glad we did. They listened to my mom's and my requests, likes, dislikes, deal-breakers etc. and they never batted an eye. They did say it might take a bit longer than usual (given our needs) to find the right care giver, but they called back in less than 5 days and we had a care giver within 10 days to 2 weeks of that 1st main discussion. That care giver has worked out so well. It has really improved our lives and I can go days without worrying about my mom...what a relief. That's what For Papa's Sake provides: relief! If you are looking for an alternative to a nursing home or aged care facility or whatever you want to call it, For Papa's Sake really cares and I would encourage you to give them a call. They have worked out great for us and I would not recommend them for something so important if they weren't doing a great job.

The Nurses, Caregivers, Activity coordinators, especially Kristi, Issac and the kitchen Staff all the way down to the laundry gals & the maintenance man Alex. I wish I could name them all. They take such good care of their residents, They get to know the families by first name. Kept me updated at all times. They helped me have a better understanding of Dementia and the behaviors that come with it. Gisela and her staff deserve a metal, they are all so compassionate. The last few months she was in hospice (Suncrest Hospice) Red contacted me weekly and her hospice nurse Gloria are the best of the best. Gloria took such good care of her. Dressing her up so pretty, lipstick and little color on her cheeks. The day she died she looked so beautiful, you never would have known she was 96 years old. She went very peacefully and I know deep down she appreciated each and everyone of you at the Waverly by making the end of her life so wonderful. Thank you, Susan S

All of the ladies at Visiting Angels were quick to answer our questions, and always were more concerned with the condition of my mother. For the people out there that are needing home services for the first time, it is my opinion that finding an organization that wants to work closely with the family and be able to make adjustments as needs change is most important. My family used Right at Home in 2022. It has taken me until now to write a review because I just did not want to think about how bad their service was. We are in a much better place now, and I feel compelled to warn others. Right at Home was truly awful- no communication. I'm not sure how they even had clients. We had to call them to find out who was coming for my mom. I can't recall EVER receiving a phone call informing me, I always had to call them. Schedules that should have been known and planned for became unnecessary emergencies because of their poor communication. My mom very much liked one of their caregivers - she was wonderful - so we were tied to the agency. That it the only reason we stuck with them as long as we did. The caregiver was pregnant, and we had to tell them! They claimed they were unaware. Right at Home had zero communication with us regarding her replacement until WE asked them if they had a plan. Their staff made us feel like they were only concerned about the money. I truly felt like they would just throw whoever they could on the schedule and they did not have as many caregivers as they said they did when we signed up with them. Two of their caregivers abandoned my mom. I never heard an apology. When I contacted their owner, Matt, regarding an issue, I got no follow thru other than an email thanking me for my communication and a promise to be in touch. Never heard from the guy again. They simply placed whoever they could find with my mom, taking no consideration as to how she would react to the person. Just horrible service. If you are a caregiver - don't sign up with them. They will treat you like crap and lie to you. I absolutely DO NOT recommend Right at Home. We've since used a different agency - and I can confidently say that Right at Home does not deserve to be in business. Don't trust your loved one in their care.
