However, having lived in many cities across the globe for research, for those annual cuts I have patronized salons everywhere from central London, Mumbai, and Bogotá to DC and Chicago. Then between COVID, childbirth, and postpartum hair shedding this year, I let my hair care lapse for even longer and was in need of some serious help. Being new to this area, a friend recommended that I check out Salon Halloo, located just five minutes from my house. I booked an appointment with the owner, Shannon, and I proceeded to have a great experience - so great, in fact, that I will now happily seek regular hair maintenance through Salon Halloo. I love how Shannon really listens to her clients and delivers a custom cut based on both what you want and what flatters your face and physique. For me, I chose to keep things simple with light, face-framing layers and a nice, rounded look in back. She cut it in such a way that my fringe of hair regrowth will blend into the softer layers around the face and throughout my head. Shannon was also very gentle with my hair; I felt no pulling or aggressive brushing - which I find is fairly common and leaves my sensitive scalp feeling irritated. But not here, and not with her! Her many years of experience are evident in the delivery and quality of her artistry. I happily agreed to book another appointment in January for a maintenance cut to keep up with the copious hair regrowth and keep my mane looking professional, and I'm already looking forward to it! Except last 4. So there you assume they take card. Well hair is all done kid goes to pay with credit card. Don't accept card. WTF!!! Who does not accept card now days especially a salon! Anyways husband shows to pick up girls finds out. Of course a little irritated, but said he would need to run to ATM as why the hell would we pay $2.50 charge. But what really got us abd made our decision to never go back was yhe stylist word to him, " go there and straight back and make it quick we are closed. It's been this way for 5 years" Really?!?!? 1. we never been there 2. Why the #$%& you ask for my card number if I couldn't use it? 3. Why talk to a customer that way? It was the worst haircut I have ever had…read more I showed her a long wispy asymmetrical pixie. She left one side of my head with no hair longer than and inch and my part so high up it's nearly in the middle of my head. She never asked where I wanted my part, how long I wanted it she didn't even wash my hair because I had washed it that morning... she just sprayed it with water. I've sat with it for two, maybe three weeks and now it's growing out it's worse. I have been flipping my part to try to to do a comb over of sorts to hide the much too short side. It still only passes some days. I've had job interviews for high paying rolls and I can't even walk in feeling confident because my hair looks like I let a 7 year old with dull scissors at it. It's also so short no one can even fix it at this point. I'm stuck till it grows out and I can find someone decent to do it. I do not understand how someone with such great reviews and beautiful style photos did this abject mess...
