I think some people come to the flower district expecting to get a steal. If you want cheap flowers, save that for Trader Joe's (my usual go to). Here, you get high-quality and hard to find flowers, not your run of the mill. Pricewise, the dahlias were $17.50 for five blooms. This was on par with pricing at other stores in the area. However, this location had by far the best selection. Probably at least 20 varieties and colors of dahlias alone. A couple days later I was shopping at the farmers market, and I saw what was probably the exact same Dahlia producer - a flower stand selling the same five paper wrapped blooms for $25. So this location will be a bit cheaper than what you'd find at a market or specialty flower shop outside of the district. Highly recommend this shop if you're visiting the flower district and wondering where to start.

I had brought pictures of the bouquets that I wanted and showed him pictures of boutonniere for the men. I had asked for blush pink peony bouquets for myself and deep pink peony bouquets for my bridesmaids and flower girls. What I got were white peonies sprayed with floral paint in bright neon pink. The same floral paint was used on the flowers of immediate family members and the spray rose boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen, ring bearers were wilting. I wanted to cry because everything was going wrong at that point and the flowers were just a disaster. I had so much faith in Omar and he let me down. I called Omar trying hard to hold back my tears. I told him that the flowers looked nothing like the pictures I showed him. That I couldn't use them for my wedding because they looked terrible. There was no time for him to commute from the city to Queens to fix my flowers. I asked him for a refund because the flowers were wilting and the petals were starting to fall off. He called my husband later and told him that he would give us a full refund. We were lucky to find a florist inside the mall next to our wedding studio. They had to throw away 75% of the peonies and replaced them with their own. They did a fantastic job but my bouquet did not look anything like the pictures. I did get a full refund from Omar after the wedding. He's a good florist but I would not suggest you go to him for a big wedding. My peonies had to be ordered directly from a wholesaler but he did not order them in time and picked up white peonies from a local flower market the day before and he sprayed them pink the night before.

He refused and made it very humiliating public display. By tearing up resale certificate form in front of other customers. He even refused to sell me the flowers at full retail value and even refused to selling me any flowers in the future. He also laughed and spoke to me in a condescending manner. I really need the flowers for an event so I turned to other vendor which are way more polite and took the time to explain to me any relevant form that we needed to do business together. I have been purchasing flowers for 5 years professionally and personally. I never had any experience close to this. This is the first time I had racist experience in all my years in U.S.
