I signed a lease for this apartment with the expectation that it would match the online listing precisely, including white marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, and custom cabinets.
When I signed my lease I notated a dent on my fridge, fans in both rooms did not work, and not to mention 1 cabinet was damaged. After I put in the service call for 1 cabinet and the ceiling fans I received notice that fans were fixed and cabinet will need to be touched up on another day. The painter returned on site days later and touched up 11 of my cabinets in a color that was not consistent with the custom-colored cabinets. The process of painting over custom cabinets can be quite challenging, especially if the cabinets are dark in color. Upon reviewing my cabinets after the paint job, all of them are now different shades of blue, because he decided to paint all the cabinets touching blemishes that weren't a problem to begin with. As soon as I realized the paint was incorrect, I contacted the office and requested to be moved in a new unit. The 1 leasing agent (Ayanna, who has now quit) was very helpful and provided at least 15 keys to different apartments in my building. Unfortunately, not just one, but all of the apartments in my building have damaged cabinets that were touched up with the incorrect color paint. After estimating the cost of moving to a new apartment, I realized that it would not benefit me, but would only bring inconvenience in terms of cost and time. I contacted the leasing office about lowering the rent and they refused to accommodate me even though the base rent when I rented this apartment was $1,495. Now they are having problems renting apartments and have lowered it to $1,260. I don't even want to talk about the valet trash we pay for that never gets picked up in a timely manner and the giant dumpster in the middle of the apartment complex that all guests can see. Finally, I would like to thank my wonderful leasing agent (Ayanna) who was very polite and provided excellent customer service. When you manage in customer service, you must strive for success or the expectations you set for your team will never be reached. By management setting standards for your employees you in turn reflect a culture that drives the business, which is crucial to to being driven to succeed. I sincerely hope that the owners of this property take the time to review the policies, procedures, contractors, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT and the maintenance team because if they carefully inspected the property, they would see that there are multiple issues that need to be addressed. I am deeply disappointed with the lack of attention from the management in addressing the issues within the apartments. Each unit should accurately reflect what is being advertised on various platforms. read more
