I graduated from DCN and passed the NGN NCLEX. I will say, if I wrote this review while in Q2…read morepharm, I'd agree with most of the 1 star reviews, however, I had some self adjusting to learn. I had received a previous degree from CU Boulder and nursing school made that degree feel easy. While there are some bad professors at the school, there are bad professors everywhere. I unfortunately ran into some issues with my original cohort and had to talk to a few people in the school to get switched. They were super supportive of my request and checked in with me every quarter following that. While I don't want to diminish others experiences at DCN, nursing school requires hours upon hours of outside studying. If you think you studied enough, there is always time for more. You will not have any outside time to really see friends or do what you love until the program is over. Those going into nursing school thinking they can barely study and get by, think again. DCN does require you to receive a 78% on cumulative exams to pass the class, which is higher than most nursing schools. I do want to mention that everyone in my cohort has passed the NGN NCLEX in 85 questions so while these reviews may be scary to a new student or someone looking around, it is worth it. It may feel unnecessarily hard but when you are done, you will be thankful. With that being said, take the good and the bad and consider everything. DCN is one of the few programs in Colorado that doesn't require an entrance exam if you have a previous degree which was a big selling point for me. I also want to say that Dr. K is the new dean at DCN and she is amazing! She does care about you and if you approach her with concerns she is understanding and checks in often. She always made me feel welcome into her office to talk.

After taking my children to a karate studio that they hated, we found Nippon Kan and they love it. They are still active members after more than 10 years. I joined myself and have been a member for 2 years. It is great exercise and helps to integrate your mind, body, awareness and coordination. They have kept dues low to keep it affordable and as I have said the quality and training is excellent!

After searching the internet, I found this traditional Aikido dojo located right here in Denver. We were so impressed with the size - not that size matters, but this dojo is 5 or 6 times bigger than the other small dojos I was considering and having a large mat to practice on allows the kids to flow, run, and move more freely, helping them to perfect their techniques without running into a wall. Also, this dojo wins hands down on perfecting such an authentic traditional feeling that it is like we are literally practicing Aikido in Japan. The quality of the instructors was another reason I ended up taking classes as well. I now have all three of my kids taking Aikido and I recommend it to parents who are interested in a safe, comfortable, and friendly environment with some of the best instructors I have found. Also, the kids classes are so affordable that even parents with larger families can afford to have all the kids taking lessons. The best perk is that this dojo is connected to the best Japanese restaurant in the Nation! We love to eat at Domo right after kids class! I highly recommend Aikido Nippon Kan.

I took the Digital 1, Digital 2, and Lightroom classes and can't wait to take Photoshop next. They really care about their students and making sure the classes are tailored to individual needs. For example, my husband and I own a local restaurant and today Jeffrey went out of his way to come help me shoot our new menu at a very discounted price. He brought his entire set up and walked me through each step so I can replicate it in the future. Can't recommend this school enough!

Let's face it, a class like this is both a time and financial commitment and when you want to walk out of it with a comprehensive understanding of photography. First, Jeffrey is an amazing instructor. He takes you through steps to build you up to where you need to be. He makes it very easy to understand the different techniques and composition rules. Half way through the class I already felt like I got my money's worth. I was taking photography that I always wanted to and Jeffrey enabled me to get to that level very quickly! Second, the class is really effective because it is limited to about 8 students. Having such an intimate setting allows him to work with all of us individually and to make sure that we are all grasping the concepts explained throughout the class. He also does a lot of hand's on training as well as gives us assignments where he evaluates our work and gives us constructive criticism. The class that I took was Digital 1, which is 3 hours a day for 4 weeks. Each week we build on the previous class and each week we have assignments so we practice what we learned. There is no question whatsoever that after taking this class that my photos are a million times better than before. Additionally, it was a pleasure to have Jeffrey as my instructor and I would highly recommend him if you're looking to take a photography class.
