After having brought my cats here many times since my last review, I can honestly say this is the…read morebest vet I have ever trusted. My kitty once developed a goopy pink discharge in her eye due to being bapped by my other cat. I called and they fit me in that night at 830pm. The veterinarian was very gentle with my baby and did a very thorough checkup. Turns out my kitty was quickly forming an ulcer which we caught very early. We were able to heal it within a week! Turns out the place is open 24/7 so they're the best for emergencies. I also highly recommend this vet for their dental work. My kitty had to have a few teeth extracted and the vet took before, during, and after pictures that were texted to me for reassurance. They did an amazing job on the stitching and she had no post surgical issues. Overall this is hands down the best vet in Lafayette.

Do Not bring dogs with a traumatic past here. I brought my girl here and we adopted her about 5-6…read moreyears ago from a shelter who saved her from an abusive environment. I communicated to the techs that she is very skittish and has came from an abusive home. They either disregarded this remark or didn't have the necessary experience to understand the situation and handled her just as any dog. Due to this she did react negatively and bit a tech. They then came back and told me I was lucky that it didn't cause any bleeding otherwise they would've quarantined her at the pound. I am not sure how more clear I could be saying this dog came from an abused home and is skittish. She has never bitten anyone as long as I've had her but how my communication was disregarded and how she was handled escalated the situation unnecessarily which almost resulted the to quarantining my dog.

If I could give absolutely ZERO stars I would! The groomer is wonderful(so that's the one star)…read morejust wished she would leave this money hungry, vaccine happy place!! The front desk staff is very rude from the get go...they informed me my dog needed vaccines when going in for a grooming so I stated I wanted to talk to whomever would be giving them bc I had questions well apparently that was inconvenient but after the rude front desk person quoted me a price I said fine (money was not an issue) after waiting for the..I'm assuming she was a vet (as she never introduced herself) came to tell me my dog needed her "yearly vaccinations" I said yes I'm aware so I asked exactly what was included and she said oh it's ONLY two shots and one oral ..rabies, INFLUENZA And I blacked out once she said that so I can't recall the other one maybe distemper ..I said excuse me FLU?? She said "yes we recently started requiring it " I said ok so what if I don't want the FLU shot given to MY dog she said well then she can't get groomed here bc its an in-house boarding facility and MY dog could get the other dogs sick!! I said so if the vaccines work how would MY dog get those VACCINATED dogs sick if any thing mine would get sick bc the "vaccines" work so well right!!! I again asked if she got all other vaccines besides the flu she still could not get groomed there and she again said yes bc my dog would cause the other dogs to get sick! I don't get the flu shot and definitely will NEVER let my pet get the flu shot! I've had animals my entire life and NEVER had one die from the flu!!! This is just another way for them to make $$$ and shorten the life of our pets as well as cause more health problems so they will be a life long patient!! My dog is happy and healthy and will continue to be without getting an experimental influenza vaccination, that apparently doesn't work if they are so worried about MY dog making others sick! I'm not done yet I'm reaching far and wide about this new MANDATORY vaccine! They are not used to owners asking exactly what is going in their pets body and when questions are asked they do not like it..we are just supposed to trust them bc they went to school and have the initials behind their name...my pet my choice and it's MY responsibility to keep my pet healthy!! Do not TRUST what these people are injecting into your pet..they don't care about the longevity or health of your pet they just want to make money and get the incentive from the drug companies...that's all it is about in the end $$$$ and making a life long patient that depends on them and prescribing deadly medications and vaccines! I hope more people do research on vaccines and how long a rabies shot is actually good for..you will be very surprised and maybe we can put these evil money hungry people out of business or make it to where they actually care about our pets and not just see them as dollar signs!! No kick back from a drug company should be more important than the life and health of your pet! I will speak up and advocate for my pet as she depends on me To PROTECT as she has no voice as I have for the other pets I have had that have all lived 13-19 years!!! FYI pet can retain immunity to the distemper, parvo, adenovirus) for 7 years--or even for life Yet it's required EVERY single year! So research Titer Testing it checks for antibody levels of the vaccines already administered. So you will not be over vaccinating your pet. One more thing every dog--whether 3 lbs or 130 lbs--gets the same volume (usually 1 mL) of rabies vaccine!! I encourage everyone to do your research as far as long term health of pets from cancer, vac injuries, allergies , and so forth! Eventually the people with initials behind their name will start to care about our pets like we do or they won't be able to pay off all of the debt they owe from that big degree!

I would highly NOT recommend. The staff (2 members specifically - though not Dr. Chris) was rude,…read moreblunt, and apathetic. I had brought up a genuine concern and it wasn't met with any care or consideration, but rather dismissal. This isn't the same clinic it was when Dr. Jim Rumore was there... sadly. The lack of care for concerns, and apparent apathy from the new one was a sad disappointment. I mentioned how an assistant of his was far too rough--rougher than i have ever seen anywhere else--with our puppy (who had a full belly of food from hours before and hadn't gone to the bathroom yet; a stool sample should have been easily to collect if done properly and with caution). My concerns of why a small puppy needed to have an entire 2 sticks (~5" or more in length) needed to be forceably, quickly, and FULLY inserted back and forth was necessary, were dismissed by the assistant, and by Dr. Chris, Dr. Jim's son, with no real concern and the only response was, "I'm not going to say anything bad about her, she's one of their best assistants," and nothing more. That's not how you handle a formal complaint. I have never seen that level of roughness and lack of caution/care on any dog that I or my wife has had in all my life at any vet office. The assistant could have easily, slowly went in, and gauged if a sample was collected yet, step-by-step, inspecting in between, rather than ramming the entirety of the rods in back and forth (in a very small pup) and fully while my puppy squealed in pain. For the Dr. to dismiss this instead of saying that he'll look into this or having equal concern makes me think something else is going on for there to be immediate dismissal and defense of that assistant, when a genuine concern of practice and handling of one of his female employees is mentioned. Even after he came in and issued a shot to my tiny pup, who was being completely cooperative, she shoved, albeit gently, my dog across the table towards me as if not interested in him. No kindness or care for me or my dog from this facility in any capacity. My daughter was even concerned and upset by what she saw out of that assistant, and she's been just fine in the handling of our last family dogs at my primary vet. I highly recommend Broussard Veterinary Clinic or St. Francis Veterinary clinic if you want proper care and concern for your pets even if it costs more; trust me, it's worth it for the difference in treatment and care. I will never be going back. I wish Dr. Jim were still here for everyone's pets (my wife used to take hers here when he was there, and loved the service she got) and I hope that they re-evaluate the professionalism and kindness of the other Vet on staff currently (not Dr. Chris, but the other one) and the assistant(s), because those weren't even close to on par with the vets i've been to in Lafayette or that my wife has experienced previously when Dr. Jim was there. I really hope my pup doesn't have any rupturing from the handling of this assistant today, who i will not name here as a courtesy.
