I can't say enough good things about Frank and this shop. I was in a real pinch and even though it was not their emergency, they were able to a put together a spectacular product within a short time frame. They treated me with respect the whole time and made me feel taken care of while also remaining professional and courteous. I'm pretty sure Frank stayed a bit later than usual to help me with my engraved award I needed as well. This was not my first call during my emergency situation, but I couldn't be happier with discovering Academy Engraving and having my piece made here. Not only is their work very well done, but they are also an absolute pleasure to work with. If you're between finding a place for this kind of service, I say with pure confidence that you found the right place and that you should look no further. Thank you to Frank and Academy Engraving for a wonderful product and top notch customer service. read more

Academy Engraving - Retirement Gift - Tequila Bottle - Custom Etching - Trophy Shops Near Me - New York, New York

Fabulous! Fast! Superb communication! Mili and Ivy are incredibly efficient. The engraving was excellent!

I called in the morning with a job needed to be complete by end of day. Frank, Ivy, and Johan at Academy were great. I really liked that this shop can do multiple types of engraving, and Frank was able to advise me on how the results would differ using different methods of engraving, how different fonts and different layout ideas might look. The end result was excellent quality, and I would definitely come here again. Not cheap, but if you want quality work done, you'll be working with professionals, and they are worth it. Convenient location near Bryant Park/Grand Central. read more

For my wedding, we had a fancy schmancy photo guest book made, but oops, I didn't proofread it and the date on the front cover was wrong! Oh well, right? I figure I could just get one of those brass plates made and have it affixed over the error. I found Academy on yelp, and they are close to my work. Sure it's a bit more expensive, but they did the job very quick (1 day turnaround, maybe less if I wanted). The small plate was about $30, which was more than the cost of the book. The cost was well worth it due to the personal service and quick turnaround. They saved my ass, and possibly my wedding! Might be a little over exaggerating, but hey, every little thing counts! The plate fixed perfectly and looks great. read more

It was such a pleasure working with Frank for my order. He was very professional, responsive, and went above and beyond to make the entire process as smooth as possible for me. He responded to my inquiries/emails within a few minutes, and was very patient with all the minor adjustments that I requested for the proof. I could not be happier with my order and Frank was absolutely a pro at his job! I would definitely go back to Academy Engraving for my future orders and would recommend it to everyone who needs engraving services! read more

Service at Academy was nothing short of OUTSTANDING. Was tasked with searching for a reputable engraver for a justifiable price by my boss. A quick Yelp search and a phone call later and I was introduced to the man that would later save my behind, Frank. I work in government, and unfortunately, the bureaucracies created to protect the integrity of public office often impede in matters of business. But Frank, being the upstanding gentleman he is, handled it all like a seasoned pro - don't think there's anything you can hit him with he hasn't dealt with before. I mistakingly put in an invalid order, and before I could correct it Academy had already completed the order. Instead of stubbornly handing the order as is, Frank agreed to re-ro the job free-of-charge even though I was clearly at fault. The job was done on-time, done beautifully, and with great professionalism. Top notch service. read more

I went here for a last-minute watch engraving. Overall they did a great job and had a fast turnaround (less than a day). Few small things: their hours are only 9-5. so most people like myself would be unable to go there after work. Not a big deal. They also have a minimum fee (which for the watch I was engraving was $40). But again these are small things. Overall they did a great job, and I'd definitely recommend them to someone else. read more

It was awesome working with the staff here. I had a $10 watch I'd picked up in London, and needed a to get a very complicated inscription engraved on it. They worked with me on the layout and design! They helped me pick the best way to display it. It was fantastic. And the result was perfect, as expected. Then they directed me to a watch store down the street to change the battery :) The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful, and it was pretty inexpensive too. read more

Professional and fast. I had a rush job and Frank made himself available on a short notice and I got my decanter engraved after 3 hours!

I had been looking for an engraving company that could assist me with some flexible thin metal labels to adhere to corporate gift items. I had inquired at a few places that weren't very close to my office. Then I found this place by chance when I Google Mapped our address and searched for engravers nearby. The employees here are all very friendly, responsive, and they do excellent work. I was more than satisfied with the finished product in terms of quality, speed and price. And when I mentioned the process of sticking them to the gifts and trying to ensure symmetry, they even offered to make a guide for me out of the extra pieces of wood they had in their workshop! Awww. ;o) I was so amazed at their willingness to help. I highly recommend Academy Engraving and plan to use them again for all my corporate engraving needs. read more

I had my fantasy foot all trophy engraved here. They were quick, did a great job and seemed pretty affordable for Manhattan.

I had a 7" vase I needed engraved and tried a spot on 57th street but they were more than double the rate advertised on their site. A coworker recommended Academy and I am sooooo HAPPY! The turn around was less than 5 days and it was STUNNING!! The staff was super friendly and QUALITY work. read more

Had a Leatherman engraved for $43.50 out-the-door same-day service. Came out excellent. They did me a huge favor by doing it same-day. I will definitely use them again but next time expect a normal 24-hour turnaround. read more

I purchased a dog tag for my bf who's, in the military overseas and needed it to be engraved within the same day. I found Academy Engraving via Yelp, they took my order right away and within 2 hrs I had my gift much to my liking. In turn they only charged me $27, without a rush order fee. I would definitely recommend Academy Engraving, they have become my go to place for engravings. read more

Unfriendly customer service compared to other engraving services in NYC that I've interacted with in the past, and I was thrown-off by their constantly eyerolls and unwillingness to answer questions given how positive the reviews were. Clearly caught them on a bad day. read more

Amazingly fast! I needed same day engraving on a pet urn and it was no problem. Ivy at the front desk is a doll. They did a great job! Highly recommend. read more

It was my friend's 55th wedding Anniversary and we had a date to celebrate on Saturday. What do you buy for a 55th Wedding anniversary? A best husband award for him and a medal for her! I called Academy and they told me to come right over and they would find something for me. I rushed over around 2pm and Ivy at the front desk was so helpful! Not only did they find me a statue for him and a medal for her, but had it engraved and ready for pickup at 4pm! Unbelievable! And the price was ridiculously low! My friends loved it and couldn't stop talking about it all night! Thanks to the whole team over at Academy. I will definitely return! read more

I highly recommend this business. It is not surprising, to me, to see such good reviews here from other Yelp users: I had occasion to use this business a few weeks ago and their service was top-notch. They engraved a silver frame for me, overnight, at a very fair price. The staff was courteous, attentive and provided what I would call old-fashioned, quality service. I will never go anywhere else again in New York City to have engraving done. I would encourage anyone to trust them with their engraving as well. read more
