Hotels were extremely full for my last minute unplanned trip to Manila, so was happy to hear that my local hosts found a room for me here at the Acacia. I arrived at around 1am and wasn't sure what to think of the area at first, but once daylight came and I got out to explore the area I was quite happy. The Festival Mall is only about 1/2 mile to the east and the Alabang Town Center is about 1/2 mile to the west. I ended up making each of the walks several times and felt very safe on each walk. The highlight to me was their breakfast buffet - there are so many excellent options to choose from (see pictures) and I did my best to sample them all every day! 3.5 stars, upgraded to 4 On par with classic or mid-range H_ _ _ t & M_ _ _ _ _ _ t hotels. Comprehensive hotel amenities. Hotel is clean with spacious, relatively well appointed bedrooms. There were a few hits, a few misses but food was mostly average. Best items were the chocolate ensaymada & the ube cake with macapuno & leche flan. Liked the pinakbet, birthday noodles, chopsuey, & hot coffee drinks. Buffet was also enjoyable. The misses were mostly breakfast items. Skip the sad eggs Benedict. More care should also be made with selecting pastries for the refrigerated display case in the lobby cafe. Desserts looked yummy but most were items with caramel or chocolate, and giant éclairs & cream puffs. All pretty to look at but difficult to eat when cold. Had to use knife & fork to cut into the dense layers. Day spa is in the midst of renovation so they offered to do our massages in our rooms. Used our beds instead of portable massage tables. My neck was uncomfortable since I had to twist my neck to the side. They had no "donut" headrest to support my head face down. Pedicures were done in the salon in fuzzy pink fleece covered club chairs. Basic service was mainly just cleaning. Polish cost extra. Pool was a uniform 5' deep & was not heated. Water was cooler than expected but was OK after the initial plunge. Had so many leftovers from all our dining out, had to have our room's mini fridge emptied of the mini bar stuff to store it all. Very much appreciated that room service staff were willing to reheat our leftovers. Never seen this at other hotels. Superb customer service, cannot stress enough how great. This is the hotel's biggest strength. Very attentive staff across the board from servers in the lobby cafe & restaurant, doorman, housekeepers, spa staff, concierge, etc. Special shout out to Iries & Shania from the housekeeping department. They kept our room spotless & accommodated our frequent requests for extra toiletries, towels, pillows, etc. However, a minor annoyance quickly became a bigger frustration. Key cards are used to access both the elevators to guest room floors as well as individual guest rooms. Great in theory but the cards become easily disabled. Had to ask the front desk to reactivate our cards 5 different times including on 3 consecutive days. This same issue happened with our access to the hotel's free Wifi connection for guests. Reserved 2 rooms for the family. Unfortunately, despite reserving weeks in advance, rooms were located on 2 different floors. Annoying as our group tended to run around to each other's rooms at all hours of the night. A few things to note: 1) Having a big sink was great but resulted in almost no counter space in the bathroom for 1 person, let alone a family. 2) Shower was spacious & had 3 fixtures: a rain shower, a handheld shower, & a faucet. Had problems getting hot water with strong water pressure with any consistency. 3) Because of the spacious shower, 1 of our rooms had a cramped bathroom. Had to sit sideways on the toilet. The 2nd room's bathroom was OK. 4) Dim space in front of full length mirror by the door. A dark mirror is useless. Please install a light overhead to make it functional. 5) Air conditioner would reset to a preset temperature not to our liking a few hours after we adjusted it. Room 1 was too cold. Had to ask for blankets. Room 2 was the opposite, being too warm. 6) In some hallways, wallpaper was sliding off walls. Maybe because of the tropical weather's high humidity? Makes the hotel look rundown. Hotel should maybe switch to a textured paint instead. Great hotel location. Convenient, central to everything. Lots of food options including Starbucks, Jollibee & McDonald's. Banks, a pharmacy & grocery store are next door. Westgate Center is across the street. Festival Supermall, Alabang Town Center & the Molito Lifestyle Complex are all less than 10 minutes away. Most importantly, the airport is only 15 minutes away on the expressway without traffic. Our stay wasn't perfect but the pros outweighed the cons. Had a few minor gripes but they weren't deal-breakers. Will give serious consideration to staying here if & when we return to visit the Philippines. Maybe upgrade to a suite. read more

All's well that ends well The hotel is not luxurious. But it's good enough for the price. What impressed me was the good customer service. We stayed for 1 night, went on an excursion and then came back for 2 nights. Both times, when we got to our room (different room for each stay) the AC wasn't working. This is not good, to be sure! But each time, when we reported it, after we showed that no air was coming out (and therefore the room would not be able to cool down no matter how long we waited) they moved us to another room. In both cases the AC worked well in the new room. I am grateful to have had things resolved quickly and easily. That is good customer service. read more

Sadly, I decided to do my nails here in the spa saloon after the receptionist recommended it . My nails look so ugly I hate it . The work is not professional at all, the length is not matching between the two hands. And the edges are so bad . My nails look like if they are done by a 5 years old girl . I can see bubbles in the polish I paid 1700 php for this , and I totally regret it. Worst experience ever. read more

This review is for the Sunday BUFFET restaurant: Whoever rated this buffet restaurant higher than mediocre is probably related to the chef or workers. This buffet restaurant is just BLAH..... and that's being nice. Let's start: Ambience=is decent. It's relatively clean, but old. It has an oily, old smell (especially near the kitchen). It has old ratty chairs which look like they've had better days. The "view" is McDonalds on one side and Commercenter building on the other......nothing to write home about. Food=was mediocre at best. The sushi MUST be AVOIDED at all cost. It's old, dry and tastes dead w/a coating of chili powder to cover its stink. The meats were nothing impressive. As my mother would say "laman tian" -- the soups were bland with some chili to make it taste like something or other. The fish / shrimps were ok; hit and miss on the freshness (some pieces were plump and fresh; other pieces were a smelly mush) the breads were rubbery and at least a day old. The cheeses were dried up and the oil was separating.....it was sad. The fruits were bland, though at least somewhat fresh. The desserts were actually ok..... for it tasted freshly baked (or maybe we just got lucky)..... The drinks were sugary sweet and nothing exceptional.....not even good coffee. :( Service: this is the only saving grace at this place. The servers were NICE. Not exactly the quickest and definitely not the most efficient, but they were kind and POLITE , which makes a positive difference in the overall experience. Price: overpriced for the MEDIOCRE QUALITY. If you're just looking for a regular restaurant to enjoy Sunday lunch with the family, then this place is fine. It's mediocre but fine. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary or anything "special" then do NOT waste your time here. You will be sorely disappointed, as I was. Nice hotel. I stayed for two weeks and everything was great. Room Service is available 24/7 and the Gym is also available around the clock. Very convenient for business travelers that are working odd hours. The morning buffet was excellent. Large variety of dishes, drinks, soups, and fruits. The staff there is very friendly and they make an effort to learn your name and greet you every day you come. Room Service and Lobby dining options are very good. Everything is well prepared and the portions are very good. My favorite dishes were the Corned Beef Hash, Beef Shank Bulalo, and Classic Bolognese. Rooms are large. I had a Jr. Suite. Had a separate tub, for soaking. Sitting area is in a bit of an awkward spot, away from the TV. Bed was very comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows were nice. Overall, this was a great hotel. Really good food and the service from the staff was too-notch! read more

Very nice hotel. There is a Mcdonalds and a Jollibee right across the street for anyone who needs a snack. We came during The Holidays, and there was a gorgeous christmas tree in the lobby area. The breakfast buffet was of course fab, the food was certainly delicious. We also tried a late night drinking sesh in the lobby area. Beautiful hotel and super friendly staff, the location is perfectly located between 2 shopping malls which are walking distance. there are many restaurants around the area and site a chic modern hotel. the rooms are very comfortable and cozy with stunning view of the city. i always enjoy my stay here and looking forward to my next visit. read more

This hotel is waaaaaay too overpriced for the quality. Friendly staff- BUT friendliness doesn't cover up poor customer service at the front desk. Check out was a nightmare. They should have a more organized system by now. It was the last moment of my experience there and it was soured by the 45 min wait to check out. Food- meh. There are plenty of other restaurants just outside the hotel with better food. The breakfast buffet was ok. Amenities were great. Good for conference and seminars here. They provide good food and very nice service for events such as conference and seminar. Alabang is suburb of metro Manila, good location to reach there from South without experiencing traffic jam inside Manila. For staying here for tourism purpose, it may not be much interesting due to less place for sightseeing. read more

When traveling, I'm not that particular at all about accommodations. As long as there's a bed to sleep on and a clean bathroom, I'll be a happy camper. Although, if you're staying at hotels to do one of those hotel "staycations" (and I SHUDDER at the term), you'll have to consider a lot of things such as nice interiors, nice TV, nice bathroom, nice bed, nice view, nice everything...blah blah blah. My mother wanted to check-in at Acacia with me and my 2 other sisters so we can just relax, enjoy the pool and the buffet and spend some time together. As far as the room and furnishings go, I have no complaints. The bed made you want to stay forever and they had one of those large, flat screen TV's that made Spongebob a better option than hitting the pool. It's a beautiful suite that you can really relax in and get proper zzz's. Awesome, luxurious room (though quite pricey). As for hotel amenities, the pool was A-OK. The hotel's common areas are beautifully decorated and doesn't make you feel too stuffy or poor (haha). Their buffet needs a bit of improvement though. Breakfast was great, but for lunch/dinner, I can't say the food was spectacular, but as far as variety goes, there's a lot of selections to choose from (just don't expect everything to be tasty). However, if you are a foreign traveler, there's really no reason for you to stay here at all. No traveler should stay in the Alabang/Muntinlupa area as there is NOTHING to do here except go to malls, and the location isn't really convenient during sightseeing. You will be better off in Makati or Ortigas areas. read more

Visited on a stay-cation and my brother also held his wedding reception here. Everything was great, in my opinion. Room service available anytime we needed, and they have pretty much everything available for you. Morning buffet was great as well, lots of choices and delicious. Good standards and awesome service. Nice decor and love music in the lobby too! During the reception we were provided everything we needed to keep the new couple pleased, although I'd have to admit they could have offered more drink choices in the bar. read more

The accommodations were nice and spacious with 2 single (twin) beds and a comfy lounge chair. We had nice views of the city and housekeeping kept everything clean. We were here with a big group for a wedding (with rooms on 4 different floors) and I found it inconvenient that we had to have the room key for each floor to operate the elevator. For example only the 15th floor key could get you to that floor or the 12th floor key could get you to the 12th floor. Swimming pool looked clean but didn't get to use it. Gym was very clean. Nice spa area that opens till 3 am so that was nice. Staff was very friendly and check-in was easy. Breakfast buffet was okay. I wasn't particularly fond of it but everyday an item or two stood out as being kind of appealing. read more

Came here for business trip, a decent place to stay in, staff is very warm, and facilities seem new. The complimentary breakfast buffet is fine, but nothing special, you get bored after 2 meals. One thing weird is that there is a door between two rooms, so you can hear the noise next door pretty clearly. read more

This review is really more of a 3.5. First let me say that the hotel is lovely and is conveniently located to various things. We stayed here for my cousins wedding at Fernbrook Gardens....best location if your attending an event there. The hotel was clean and the bathrooms were large and also clean. Of course there were some downsides. It started with check in and the front desk staff. The woman assisting us check in did not seem knowledgeable in our check in process and could not fully explain to us why of the 4 rooms we booked only one had complimentary breakfast. We booked all the rooms online at the same time....doesn't make sense to me. Second, the check in process took FOREVER. My family was waiting in the lobby for over 20 mins....insane. Then the woman proceeded to give us a room only to let us know 5 mins later that the room is actually not ready and she had to find another room for us. Now regarding the complimentary breakfast....there was an array of food to choose from which was nice but almost everything offered was either too salty or just didn't taste good. Even the bacon was bad....how do you mess up bacon? I just ate bread and fruit. Just an FYI...if you don't get the complimentary breakfast they make you pay an insane amount of money for it....don't pay it, go elsewhere for breakfast. Lastly, when we were checking out the front desk was again.....she accused my family of stealing the coffee cups from the room. What? Why would we take coffee cups....what are we going to do with the coffee cups. She wanted to charge us but I fought that one. We might have just had bad luck regarding staff.....other than the front desk everyone else was nice. The hotel is lovely and clean and conveniently located. Just make sure you confirm everything before finally booking and take pictures of your room to prove you didn't steal things like the coffee cups. read more

Nicely located and moderately priced hotel. Has a large buffet breakfast included in the room rate. A decent gym as well. The rooms are large and clean. The only issue with our room is that the shower isn't sealed properly and leaked water all over the floor which is very annoying. We stayed in room 1207 in case you want to avoid this issue. We were switched to room 910 but it also has the same issue. It's likely a bad design of the shower or poor maintenance. Hopefully they will replace them or find a solution that meets the original quality of the hotel. read more
