Larios Market was recommended to me by a wonderful fellow Yelper. You know who you are. Thank you!…read more I wanted to get guacamole, salsa, and chips for a team potluck lunch. I got rave reviews on these items that they are super good at Larios so here I am to confirm. This market is located at the corner of Barranca Ave and Arrow Highway in Covina. It's actually a meat market, but they sell produce and other food/dry items plus hot foods. It's a very small place with maybe 3-4 tight aisles. I went straight to the refrigeration area. I saw lots of different salsas and a handful of guacamole. At first glance, the appearance of the guac did not look appealing to me. It looked brown and kind of watery at the top. I was hesitant to get them, but since they were recommended, I got 3 of them. Now looking back, I should have only gotten one just to try them. It was not that great IMHO. Maybe they were not made that day and have been hanging around for a day or so. However, the roasted red salsa was really really good... I would highly recommend this one. Pico de gallo was decent. Crab ceviche was just okay... too much of the V8 taste. I ended up buying 6 containers and spent over $50 on guac and salsa. Probably more than I need. I didn't bother with the chips as they look more on the oily side. Anyway, staff was nice and helpful. Check out was fast as it wasn't super busy at the time. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables and stools outside in front of the market for those who want to eat here after their food purchase. I'm not sure if I would come back for the guac, but I may come back for the roasted red salsa and possibly their tacos and burritos.

Back in May I went to get my eyes checked / new prescription. Showed up and saw some short female…read moreoptometrist. She tells me my prescription has gotten way worse and she place my new order but since it's a way higher prescription it's going to be a special order and it should take about two weeks. Two weeks comes and goes and when i call they tell me the order will be a few more days. About a week and a half goes by from that point and the new contacts and glasses are there so i go pick them up wearing my old glasses. I walk in and the rude receptions makes fun of me by saying "whoa omg those are big " loud enough other customers turn to look at me. I tell her thanks for put me on blast and instantly bringing back years of embarrassment. I get my contacts and glasses and both instantly start to hurt. Felt as if someone was shoving fingers into the top portion of my eyes. Their response is im just going to have to get used to them. I've been wearing contacts for over 30 years and ive never felt that uncomfortable. I take them home and give it a week and a half and every day was miserable. Pain in the eyes , migraines, dizziness. I went back and told them how horrible that prescription was and i want a recheck. This time i get some Asian guy. When i tell him he makes a face like yeah she's an idiot . He does his exam and gives me a pair on the spot that won't hurt my eyes and will help. He orders the newer pair with the astigmatism. Took awhile and they came in in about two more weeks. He got a little closer on the prescription but it turns out that it's still wrong. It's been two months of hell. The glasses he got me make the world look fishbowl'd and they said that's normal ‍ Since he got closer this whole time i thought something else was wrong with. I couldn't drive because my eyes kept losing focus. I can't read a book unless i have to strain my eyes. I got an appointment with a REAL optometrist this week. Because of all the trauma and misdiagnosis I highly recommend everyone stay away from this place. I will be contacting corporate

Very welcoming atmosphere for beginners and seasoned cigar enthusiasts. Come down and support your local cigar lounge! Cigar Review: Liga Privada No. 9 w/ Black Coffee. The Ligia Prvida No. 9 specifically is a very sweet cigar. I taste the espresso, dark chocolate, pepper but immediately afterwards the taste has a light sugar/syrup thing. In the beginning your going to taste some pepper and dark espresso but after the taste is cream, sweet. As the cigar continues more in the midpoint it balances out so it feels more warmer, baking doughy, hints of cinnamon, dried fruit, molasses? I'm talking notes and hints. Definitely dried fruit and baking spices for me. The cigar is a connecticut broadleaf wrap so if you end up liking the taste of this cigar, return and try more conneticut broadleaf type cigars-- ask Charlie or Woody the owner to help you! Glad I can experience this here at Marty's.
