Now, we have a fully and properly grounded 200A one in a band new enclosure containing the meter, on the outside wall. Gar agreed to meet me super early in the morning to accommodate my commuting schedule, and was super knowledgeable about all the work that needed to be done, including additional grounding and bonding to the water and gas mains, for our safety and to take our old house up to code. We promptly scheduled the job, which took 2 days to complete, and his men just did an excellent job replacing the old panel. After the job, Gar called for the city inspector to come, and the inspector was happy with everything. I have more jobs in the future and I'll definitely call Gar again!

Gar was actually the very last contractor whom I had spoken to (thanks to a recommendation from another company!), and on speaking to him, all my hesitation dissolved and I made the decision then to go ahead with him. Throughout the entire renovation, Gar and his team went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done right. From picking up the LED lights for me while I was out of the country, to dealing with my last minute requests for changes (lutron switches vs normal switches, installing and wiring security cam/system), they were happy to accommodate everything without complaints. The work was also done with permits, and all inspections passed smoothly without a hitch. At every point of the job, their team made sure to explain to me exactly what is going on at each step, which is sadly not the norm with other contractors. Revised: I am giving a 4 (instead of 5) rating because they did not check the flue on the roof after tapping into a pipe that was 62 years old, and a roof 30 years old. The seal was loosened, and the first rain that year ran down the flue onto my brand new furnace and it stopped running at some point. I called, and they came out and quickly fixed the issue; a few months later...another minor issue (a corroded wire), which they came out and corrected. Now...3.5 years later, furnace stopped running again. Again, it was a shorted wire...no doubt due to corrosion from the previous water damage. No parts needed replacing as I'd previously been told by other contractors. (I had 2 previous estimates in which neither company accurrately diagnosed the issue. Both prior estimates wanted to replace different parts that would have been costly.) So all in all, FastTech is knowledgeable in troubleshooting and honest. I do feel that to be the truth. They perhaps made a mistake in not checking the flue at the time of installation...but these things happen to the best of us.
