That said, if you are a beginning kayaker and just want to get some experience, this is a great place to go. If you are timid around water, not sure if you will like the sport, or someone who just generally likes to try new things, be outdoors, etc. - do it! We were in town from Arizona and the water was pretty choppy (dude said winds were ~10 mph... I think they were closer to 15 mph...) I am not in love with sit on top kayaks and I don't particularly love chop. Moving water? Fine. Rocking back and forth? Ehhhh. We only paddled for about 30-40 minutes because it was so windy. We paddled against the wind to get our bearings, floated/paddled to the other end with the wind, and then worked our arms off paddling back. My husband doesn't really enjoy that type of work out (ha!) so he got out and pulled his 'yak for a bit. I was more determined and paddled the whole way. It's a very chill area (or was in May) but if you wanted to bring a group of folks to paddle and sunbathe and eat some snacks on the shore (which apparently happens in the summer) you'll have a blast. We prefer barren, inclimate weather (seriously) so it was a perfect day for us.

Less than a month at Clownfish once a week and she is braver, trying new things and actually learning to SWIM!!! Matt is INCREDIBLE. My daughter adores him. He is sweet with the kids and incredibly encouraging. I accredit her progress to him and his method of teaching. It's a bit of a further drive for us but totally worth it. I'm a big supporter of family owned businesses and the more intimate environment and ease of scheduling and shifting time slots when necessary speaks very highly of how well run Clownfish is and how the owners take pride in what they do. All of the staff we've met have been extremely friendly and accommodating but Matt is our favorite :) Keep up the great work. I would HIGHLY recommend Clownfish to anyone and everyone who is serious about their child learning how to swim as well as survival techniques.

I love that we could use the tiny beginner pool that was warm for the kids. And we also were able to afford a semi-private lesson for two kids. First of all, I would say get there early and be prepared to hustle up and get yourself a table and some shade because those things go quickly. Our friends arrived at 9:45 and we were able to buy tickets and jump in the line quickly. I arrived at 10:05 which it opens at 10 and was lucky to snag one of the few remaining parking spots and then waited in line about 20 minutes to exchange my vouchers for tickets so luckily our friends were there early because they went in and got a table for us. You can bring a small cooler with some lunch which I would recommend as the food they were selling, looked a little rough. The park itself is very clean and well kept the water was nice and warm, which was nice if you're familiar with the frigid waters of the Ilich Gardens waterpark this is not that the kids had fun playing in the sand and they really enjoyed the lazy river my son got to do the diving board for the first time which was pretty sweet. You have to be at least 48 inches to ride any of the slides so unfortunately none of our kids were able to do that overall it was a very positive experience and the other thing I wanted to mention is that the lifeguards are all super nice and super polite, which I don't think I have ever seen.

Look no further.... Go to Waterworks!…read more My granddaughter had a traumatic experience in water at a very young age. This caused her to have extreme anxiety in and around water. Waterworks was my third and final shot for swim lessons. To say Tyler is a godsend is an understatement! Tyler worked on building trust with her and making her feel safe in the water. No matter how much she cried, Tyler never gave up on her. Without Tyler's patience, kindness, and support, our toddler would not have made the progress that she made. Fast forward six months, Tyler has taken her from a frightened baby to a toddler that loves to jump in the pool and swim under water. We can't say enough good things about Waterworks and all the staff. They are genuinely invested in the progress of your child and it shows with every lesson. Tyler, there are no words to express our gratitude for everything!
