My weight was never an issue until I had my second child. I was extremely athletic and even all state my freshman year of high school. I always ran long distance year round to keep fit and stayed active. When my age decided to catch up with me and my metabolism decide to slow down, I began to gain weight. I went to the Arlington office. The doctor was AWESOME. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care. I was super hesitate about this place but since there were so many positive reviews I bit the bullet. You need to pay $100 online first and then you can call and make an appointment. I thought this was a bit odd but once I got to the clinic all I had to do was sign a few documents. Dr. Kurup was great. I talked to him for about 10 minutes about medication, diet, etc; he was very attentive and listened to everything I said. I went on my lunch break and was in and out very quick! First things first, Dr. Kurup is AMAZING!!!! I found Absolutely Thin on line. My initial thought was " this place is a pill mill". However, knowing that I had gained 50 lbs I said "give it a try". Southlake office is in a rent a room by the month building, and I mean the "office" is a 6x8 room. "Doctor" (the only staff there) was a young Indian man who was in jeans and a shirt. I thought he was general office staff until the end of our meeting when I realized he might be the physician (was never sure). The space was very generic like a pop in conference room. The carpeted room consisted of a IKEA type desk, 2 chairs and a scale that could have come from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I was weighed with that generic scale ON CARPET and ask some general health questions. No blood pressure taken, no temp, no heart rate....you pay them $120 for what I just described and then each month fill out an online form and pay another $80. Then, they call in the prescription...maybe. Their performance is inconsistent. On top, they make it a challenge to actually speak to anyone in the office and are slow to respond to any request and often inaccurately when they do. I was never able to speak to a nurse or doctor about questions and was instead referred to a you Latin office manager. The young women providing phone reception are unprofessional, and rude. This place is an absolute quack shack for overpriced phentermine prescriptions, seemingly, without concern for patient health. If you have not taken this medication before, and already know how your body and related conditions react to it (under a competent, concerned physician not quite so motivated by greed, or at least it's appearance) then I would definitely seek another office. If you have taken the drug, and no what to expect then I would tell you that there are other clinics such as this that are far more inexpensive. After termination of the relationship, I researched the noted lead physician of this clinic (which I wish I had done before) and found that for years he had run a weight loss shack online. Apparently, he chose not to interact with patients, at all. I'm going to guess that, anyway, as that is exactly how you feel upon meeting/conferencing with their representatives. The federal government passed new federal regulations in March 2008 that required a patient being treated over the Internet (referred to as "on-line medical consultations") MUST BE SEEN BY THE TREATING DOCTOR IN PERSON AT LEAST ONE TIME (referrered to as a "face to face" meeting). Seems a little crazy to me that the Feds had to create this regulation. Is there no liability for a physician who never actually SEES the patient, but is prescribing meds for said patient??? Seems like a true professional with a patients health as a concern would want to see a patient every 60-90 days at a min to regulate potential health concerns, but what do I know. read more

I found Absolutely Thin after doing a search of weight loss clinics near me. I was drawn to Absolutely Thin because it had a decent amount of reviews from actual people. Both on Google and Yelp (I'm big on reviews). I checked out their website and was impressed. You visit with one of their doctors (at a convenient location) and after your consultation, if you're a healthy person who just needs some help losing weight, you get your prescription and are on your way. Only having to keep in contact with the doctor via, email, phone/text. The only thing I was hesitant about was the $100 consultation fee you have to pay up-front through their website in order to get an appointment. It worked out just fine, as soon as I paid, I was able to schedule my appointment and voila! Got my first consultation. My consultation with Dr. Kurup was great! The office in Southlake is in an office building for many different companies. The people at the front desk were nice and pointed me in the right direction. Dr. Kurup was great to explain everything to me to the point where he had answered all of my initial questions. I went to my pharmacy and received my prescription 20 minutes later! I'm looking forward to my first month check-in via the absolutely thin website. I'm happy with the whole process so far, now it's up to me to get to the weight I'm striving for. UPDATE: So far I've lost 10 pounds and 5 inches. I'm SO happy I decided to do this, I wasn't "fat" just overweight and wanted to get back to my healthy weight. CONSUMER BEWARE! I filled out my progress report online and changed the pharmacy and the company NEVER sent my prescription and since two weeks had passed they wanted me to PAY $80 again to complete a new progress report that's just your height, weight, and "how are you feelin?" So.... it's my fault that the company never sent my prescription to my pharmacy and now I pay again? Yea, seems legit (sarcasm) This establishment is corrupt. I feel like I've been robbed! Never have I experienced such ridiculousness. I've received better service at car washes, smh ‍ UPDATE: Believe it or not... it ACTUALLY gets WORSE. ‍ So I made a claim with my bank and they refunded the $80 so I decided to give Absolutely Thin a second chance to redeem themselves. Well... I made an appointment on Thursday at 2:45pm. Toy called me and asks me to verify my birthdate and name then tells me that if I want to come to the office for my appointment that I need to get on Yelp and REMOVE my "scathing" review. It took everything within me not to start laughing. I told her that I was already down the street (I drove 30mins in 98 degree weather) and she put me on hold where she pretended to talk to someone or did talk to someone who knows at this place.. she then told me again, "you need to take the "scathing" review down." My response was, "Scathing? I wrote the truth. The only reason I considered to give your company a second chance was because my bank refunded me and I thought maybe you could redeem yourselves" She put me on hold again and then I just hung up! I started laughing that they actually thought this tactic would work After they had taken my $80 and DIDN'T send my prescription to the pharmacy and refused to give me a refund they tried to give me an unethical and unprofessional ultimatum. The audacity! It was a blessing in disguise because I found this AMAZING clinic that's half the price and accepts WALK-INS and they have better hours andddd everyone is so nice! Oh, and it actually looks like a clinic! It's really spectacular. Ok, here are some facts about AbsolutelyThin. The first visit you have to come to the office and it's $100 then you have online monthly progress reports that are $80. Then you have to come in for another $100 visit the fourth month. The meds are $20 a month for a 30 day supply... that's $320 for THREE MONTHS. The other place is only $200 for three months I'm so glad it didn't work out here read more

I made an appointment after reading up on Absolutely Thin online and am SO glad I did! I love how easy it was to make an appointment and how there are locations all over the metroplex so I didn't have to drive far for my Southlake appointment.
