I have never left a bad review on Yelp in my life. However, I think that it is my absolute responsibility to warn future customers about this Hair Salon. They are the definition of. Unprofessionalism. The Salon employees people who act like they are doing you a favor by doing your hair. They charge outrageous prices for service that is to be kind lacking. Every time that I have visited the Salon in the last six months I have left almost in tears at the disappointment. They charge nearly $200 for a frontal lace front install. The technician, Charlene was rude and disrespectful on each, and every occasion that I had to do business with her. On occasion, I have had to reschedule my appointments due to illness, but I always called to reschedule. Instead of treating me with respect and understanding, they were hateful and unprofessional. I hope that this review will at least dissuade one person from going to this unprofessional shop. They use their language or dialect of Jamaica to talk about people right in front of their faces. So it took me awhile to post here bc I was VERY disappointed. I made an appointment and was seen for almost 2 hour after my original appointment time. The girl that did my hair assured me she could do the pixie hair style I wanted I spent more time correcting the hair than anything else I took that mess down the same day. As you can see from the pics I got a uhmm mushrooms top versus a pixie sewing. She didn't even blend the hair properly. I took that ish down when I got home she didn't even braid my hair properly im glad I took it down bc my scalp was bleeding. Horrible Customer Service - Absolute Weave Works Camille the stylist is amazing, and has done my daughter's hair for the past 12 years. However the customer service or the lack of customer service from the owner/management is awful ! All 3 of my girls have gotten their braids done here for years within the past two weeks we spent almost $600. My daughter just had an allergic reaction to the Xpression hair they just recently used for the first time in 12 years, things happen, allergies happen, customer service did not happen! Instead of asking her to come in to see if they can resolve the situation and see what they could do for her they reiterated they were not doctors and suggested we take out her braids, after spending over $200 for knotless braids last week. They didn't offer to take her braids out, to credit us, to discount us on any future appts- nothing! Zero accountability and no resolutions. And this is after her last two appointments, when making her appts, requesting her honey blonde color and Absolute Weave Works failing to provide the correct color -not once but twice. The Absolute Weave Bar is the Absolute WORSE! I went there two weeks and two days ago to get my hair done. A full weave, after a take out and install and bout two bundles. Needless to say it was a pricy endeavor. After two weeks and two days my hair was loose and tracks falling out. I called the shop and the receptions told me that what I was experiencing was normal. I told her it was not and that I never had this experience before. The receptionist continued to be rude which triggered me because I spent a boatload of money and felt I was not getting a resolution. Nothing was done on their part not even an apology. Very disappointed in this establishment. I had been going to Absolute Weave for many years. Regularly used two different stylists during my time. Recently my regular stylist left, which was very disappointing, but since I had been going so long I had faith and booked an appointment with another stylist who I knew had been at the establishment for as long as I had been going. I trusted this stylist to give me good service. When I got there for my appointment, the owner had decided to change the stylist to another "new" employee (fortunately I had saved my appointment on my phone to prove this because they tried to tell me I had booked with the stylist they wanted me to use). I was very upset, but was told that I could take it or come back at another time because the person I booked with was busy. WOW! Apparently having me as a customer for many years was low priority and unimportant enough to blow me off. I got my hair done...it was horrible started coming out in two weeks and it was downhill from there. AND when I had to go back after it started falling apart...I had to argue to keep from paying more money! They lost a loyal customer! I won't be going back again. read more

So I moved here and searched for a salon for 2 years I finally googled Absolute weave works and I read the reviews good and bad and still chose to try them because one person's truth is their reality. They took me last minute, I was 46 minutes left cause I got lost but Joann answered every time I called and reassured me. The salon was nice and comfortable and everyone hair waa was done cause how you slay my hair if you dont slay your own. Rachel hooked my hair up. When one track was loose they immediately told me return. Due to work travel took over a week but i received same exact experience. Their post installed maintenance is amazing. To find a permanent salon home where women discuss 401K retirement options giving back to the community and plays inspirational music was a pleasure We are quick to write bad reviews out of angry and hesitate to Express gratitude. I've been going to the owner Joanne for years. My daughter suffered damage and breakage from another salon. Joanne was so friendly and knowledgeable, I decided to get my hair done too and I loved it. When I heard she was opening up this location I was so excited. Since then myself and my two daughters have gone multiple times. Our hairstyles are always on point. The weaves are undetectable and they last for a long time. They also have quality hair for a great price! The prices for the service is also very reasonable. They do hair for all ages. I'm in my 40's and my daughters are 22 and 12. Since we have been going the gift and the curse is that our natural hair has grown like weeds so we don't get the sew ins as often as we use too. I love the fact that we are not only given the service, but educated on protective styles and products that help our hair grow as well as not break off. The service is AWESOME! Positive and fun environment, energetic staff, no inappropriate conversations or drama. Very classy place. They offer you snacks and beverages as well as show customer appreciation with discounts and giveaways. They even have a private area for those who may not be comfortable getting the service or consultation in the open, and they also have an area to help you pick the hair that suits your needs. I visited this salon after Christmas to get box braids done. I heard about the salon through my mom, who got a 360 frontal done a few months prior to my appointment. I decided to give them a try, since they were basically the only salon in the area whose braiding work I could actually see through pictures on their Instagram. As I scrolled through their social media, I saw that the braiding word Tamara did looked pretty awesome so o decided to make an appointment with her for box braids. When calling to make the appointment, a very pleasant lady walked me through the whole process including pricing and what it would entail. I wish I could remember her name, but she definitely made me feel even better about choosing Tamara for my braids. Fast forward to my appointment, I was Tamara's first appointment of the day and she was ready for me when I arrived, which I appreciated. I liked her braiding technique, she's super fast (which is great for me because I hate sitting in the chair for too long) I was in by 9 and out by either 12 or 1. It sounds long, but box braids can definitely take way longer. Her work was very neat and she didn't braid too tight and even double checked to make sure it wasn't too tight on my scalp. It's been a couple weeks now and they still look great, although I'm a little tired of having this hair all over my face. I went into this salon about a month ago and I wish I could give this 0 stars. HORRIBLE experience save your money and don't waste your time . My step sister had got a versitile partial sew in it looked so good so she referred me to AWW. I had to pay first before the service was even done so when I payed I had my boyfriend's debit card and they asked what his relationship to me was and I said my boyfriend and she asked to get him on the phone so I face timed him and she didn't see him and I just asked him if it was okay to use the card she could've been verifing anyone .The weave was blonde and sharnette blamed her coworker for giving her the wrong hair which if she's a licensed professional she would've known it didn't match and would've got a color to match my natural hair color and she barley spoke English so my questions couldn't get answered especially being since it was my first time getting extensions and my head hurt for about 3-4 days because she braided my hair so tight and my scalp was pulled so far apart and I even had a bleeding blister December 17- I had called and spoke to Sam she constantly apologized and I got rescheduled with again sharnette because I asked her if Alexsus could do my hair and she told me no because sharnette already got paid for it and that's not the way it works but if I didn't like sharnettes work why couldn't she uninstall it and Alexsus redo it . When sharnette was doing my hair Sam kept coming to check to make sure she was doing it correct and in the matter of 5 minutes sharnette was about to put the same blonde I had in my head until Sam stopped her she obviously didn't know what she was doing if someone had to keep checking her work . My tracks that are sewed into my head are so uneven. I didn't mind that they couldn't find an exact match for my hair color but she didn't even blend it well like she was supposed to . When she was done my hair I even showed Sam the blister on my head that was bleeding and she sprayed something on it . Sam also called the owner and had me speak to her and she told me she wouldn't b able to do this a third time but there would've of ever been a second time if my hair was done correctly the first time The pictures shows how uneven my tracks were that were sewed into my head December 31 : I had went in for an appointment for them to take my sew in out which their supposed to last two months and I've only had them in for two weeks and they looked displeasing I did this to make myself feel good about myself and they messed it up i sat down n waited and then my boyfriend went over to Sam and simply said someone messed up my hair and we weren't paying for them to take it out and she walked away and got the owner on the phone the owner got hostile and told me my boyfriend needed to leave and I told her they needed to take it out since they messed it up and she didn't care and then I asked about their license because there is none visible anywhere in the shop and that's when they said they were calling the cops if we didn't leave and the cops were called and I had to take my disgusting tracks out myself . Truly disappointing experience. I came in for a sew in with frontal , seeing the reviews I truly thought I would be coming out with a great sew in with no problems. I was mistaken. Not only did it take from 12-4 to do my hair but the woman who did my hair left a huge gap from my frontal and tracks. The stylist struggled with my frontal (which was of bad quality , I was hoping it would be salvaged and was mistaken) and ended up passing me off to another stylist (who I think is the owner) very sweet woman but the damage was already done and there wasn't much she could do. I walked out with a hairstyle that looked like I was ready for Sunday Church. Not the edgy layered long bob I asked for. I understand my frontal was bad but that's no excuse for the rest of my hair. I then had to come in to get the gap in my hair fixed a week after and the girl who fixed it did an awesome job. I just wish I didn't have to come back in for that, I'm a working Mom with an 8 month old. Perhaps if she had done my hair to begin with I would have came out happier. I also now have my edges being ripped out of my scalp because the first stylist , I'm going to say her name was Nicki , pulled my hair too tight. I thought I would give it a week to loosen up and it's going on two weeks and I now have damaged edges and it's extremely uncomfortable. I have NEVER in my life experienced this before so I'm so disheartened and just let down through this whole experience. They may have stylists in there who I just didn't have the pleasure of experiencing but I'm rating on my personal experience. Proceed cautiously. read more

So I go for a weave maintenance and to perm my edges. I figured that was something simple that they couldn't fuck Up. When the lady was done you couldn't see the part in my hair like her flat iron had no damn heat. My natural leave out had fly-away hairs, and was not laid. To make matters worse they charged me $35 to perm My leave out (EXCLUDING THE BACK OF MY HAIR) when the advertised price was $15. When I pointed out the issue they made up excuses and refused to refund the extra amount charged. My REAL hair dresser is in Brooklyn and I went to this shop out of pure necessity before a professional development trip. I was a little iffy about getting a partial sew in set of hair extensions. I did a lot of research but wasn't sure how it would look. I have really fine color treated platinum blond hair and was looking to get my long hair back. Joanne the owner was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable. We ordered 2 bundles of 16 inch platinum extensions. When they came in stylist Maria sewed them in for me. They are beautiful and the hair is very silky. It's been a week and my hair looks as good as it did when I walked out of the salon. I will def be returning there for more services. It looks natural and people keep saying "wow you look really great with your hair down" not even realizing I got extensions. If your picky about your hair please give them a try. I'm glad I did. When I walked in, Tamara was ready and available to begin my service right away. She was very professional and really made me feel like she truly cared about meeting my hair needs and expectations! While the owner offered to have it redone from what I witnessed the other stylists are underdeveloped as well. Upon moving to the area, I am so happy that I found this salon. The ladies are always professional and in good spirits and the service is excellent. I have been to this salon seven times and I have never had an issue with how the stylist does my hair. I purchase my extensions from their hair counter, but be advised there are times in which the length and wave pattern you want may be sold out so be prepared for a plan B. The hair itself is standard and nothing out of the ordinary. It can be installed many times if you continue with regular maintenance and conditioning. It does tend to shed a bit at first. I called around 2pm on a Tuesday evening for a last minute frontal wig installation for my vacation and these ladies made sure they could fit me in despite the fact that I called very last minute.As soon as I sat down I was offered refreshments and my hair Dresser Janiqua was amazing and kept me laughing.
