I followed one of their stylists (from 40 minutes away) when she moved to work there---and not only is she worth the drive, but it's a very sweet and stylish environment (I covet the feathery chandelier that I get to gaze as I am getting my hair washed!). Reposting. Requested refund. Have been going to this salon for almost a year. Have been very happy with my service until recently. I made an appointment to have a balayage/color melt. My hair was already highlighted and lightened so I didn't think my expectations were unreasonable. I was expecting the color would make my ends dry and was prepared to cut an inch or two off. I came in with several pictures of what I was thinking. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it was not at all what I envisioned a balayage to look like. There was an uneven distinctive like halfway down the hair shaft and my hair looked more like a color block. I was very upset. I am not a complainer but after a few days I decided to email Jeanne, the owner of the salon because this was such an epic fail and cost me $260. I don't mind spending the money (and the time) just as long as my hair looks good. This was unacceptable. She called me the next day and offered me a couple of options. I could return to the salon and have the original stylist fix it or have another one (including herself) attempt to color correct it. (No charge.) I asked if I could think about it as I had already made an appointment with another salon and she suggested that I allow Salon Silk the opportunity to try and correct it so I didn't have to pay an outside stylist to do my hair again. At no point was I offered a full (or any) refund. My hair was completely fried. I knew it wasn't going to be a quick fix but a two days later (the 7th) I called the salon and asked if I could make an appointment with Jeanne (the owner) to ask her to fix my hair. I was told she wasn't in and they would text her and ask her to call me. I wasn't sure what I needed to tell the receptionist what to schedule me for. I never heard back. Two days later (the 9th) I sent Jeanne an email and once again never heard back. Since I had been walking around wearing a baseball hat on my head for a week and had a formal occasion that weekend, I wound up going to another salon for color correction. I still hadn't heard back from her (the 10th) so I emailed her again requesting my money back. I was NOT asking for her to pay for my "outside" salon appointment. I was simply asking for refund for a service that was done so badly. I finally heard from her on (the 12th) via email and she told me she tried to call my cell phone but it just kept ringing and my voice mail didn't pick up. I picked up every unknown number coming to my phone for 5 days hoping it was her or she would have had the salon call me. I never had a missed call. She also stated that she emailed offering me to come in but once again, I never received an email from her. I even checked my spam/junk folders, but nothing. In her email she said it is the salon's policy for the client to return to the salon for an attempt to correct the mistake. I was also told at that point in the event I was still not satisfied, she would refund my money and I would have had to "sign a form that I would never return Salon Silk again." I never heard of such a thing. I'm very disappointed in this particular salon. I do not like to "chair hop" from stylist to stylist. I am a very good client and have a touch up on my hair every 3 weeks. I am posting a few pictures. Two pictures of what I showed my stylist (the 2nd picture is top left of the 4 examples) what I was aiming for, 3 pictures of what I walked out with and two pictures from my color correction at another salon. We had bridal services (hair and makeup) on March 2, 2024. Jill was great to work with to coordinate the day. The hair stylists were great! Kaitlyn was so patient with the bride and bride's mother. The makeup artists worked magic. Salon Silk does a great job when i visit for my hair services but on this day, they went above and beyond to prepare us for the big day. read more

I love Salon Silk! A girl just wants to be pampered sometimes and that whats I feel like is happening when I am at the Salon. This is the one thing I do for ME. My stylist, Alexis, always listens to me. I am famous for bringing in pictures of styles I like then we decide what would look best with my features. I have never been disappointed with my hair. They schedule you very well so if you have to wait, it is not more then 5 minutes, and they offer me water right away. Having you head shampooed and massaged is wonderful, no the massage is not extra, it is part of the process. They are proactive in calling you to remind you of your upcoming appointment, which I need sometimes. The salon is designed for comfort and beauty! read more

I sit there in the comfy salon chair while getting my hair done, and watch the amazing work going on all around me. I was in desperate need of a hair cut. I have long, tightly curled natural hair. I rarely have great experiences at salons and therefore only get my hairs cut when I reach a level of desperation. I noticed Salon Silk when they opened and kept in mind is like to give them a try. Today was the day! I was able to get a same day appointment with Alexis and arrived a little early. From the outside the salon is a seemingly small little brick house converted into a business. The parking lot seemed packed and I wondered how everyone was fitting in such a tiny little place. When walking in it was a bit confusing where to go but quickly realized the reception area is on the right as soon as you walk in. It is really beautiful inside. Everything is clean and bright. It's decorated very well but not cluttered at all. Alexis came to greet me after I checked in. I was taken to one room to get my hair washed and another for the cut. There seem to be 3 rooms for hair care and a few more for manis, pedis and waxing. Alexis had such a great energy about her. The whole salon was bustling with people and it put me in a good mood immediately. Alexis knew how to handle my hair and really listened to what I wanted and gave suggestions that were in line with my requests. The hair cut was quick with a little bit of small talk. I usually leave with my hair wet but Alexis seemed intent on giving me a blow out. It had been years since I've worn my hair straight so I looked forward to letting her style my hair. It was a quick blow out that looked great. She offered to do some big, loose waves in my hair and I agreed. I have never worn my hair this way and wasn't sure what it would be like. It turns out I absolutely love it. It's the first time in a long time that I wish my hair was straight so I could recreate the style more easily. While Alexis made it seem quick and simple, it's much more time than I am prepared to spend on my hair each morning. I will, however, go back and get the same style if I have a special event. I'll update my review once I go again for another service but so far I really like this salon! read more

Before she hung she reviewed my appointment and made sure I knew where I was going. When I walked in I was met with a nice hello and welcome to the Salon.
