I am shocked at the level of unprofessionalism displayed one staff member. I submitted a wire transfer with my bank on a Saturday and Monday was Labor Day. The transfer was still "processing" Tuesday morning according to my bank which I showed an Absolute Title representative while in their office for a closing. Later that day the bank was still processing the wire (it is common for wires to take longer after holidays). Nonetheless, I was called by I believe Peter at Absolute Title about the delay in the wire. The conversation started normally, but as the conversation progressed it became evident that Peter was agitated that "he still doesn't have the money and it's almost 4:30." I continually reiterated to Peter that there is nothing I can do because the bank is in charge of wiring the funds. He was persistent in the conversation alluding to that I may be experiencing financial difficulties until he came outright and stated "are you experiencing any financial issues?" The interrogation into my finances was inappropriate and unprofessional. He belittled me by telling me it was not possible for a wire to take this long (like I have never wired money before and I know from experience it can take longer), telling me it usually only takes 30 minutes. He continued wanting to know the bank I used almost like he was having a hard time accepting what I was telling him. He kept pushing that he "needed" to get the funds out to the seller but I have not wired any funds to Absolute yet. My response was not to send any funds to the seller until my bank processes the wire, obviously. I was very upset at this point that he was so pushy about getting the money even after I told him that the bank status message indicated it would be transferred before 6PM. Now I was very upset that he was outright telling me that I might be experiencing financial difficulties. It is so ridiculous to even bring up when I just submitted 2 years of tax returns, all my bank records, and more financial information to qualify for a mortgage. I firmly told him that I had the money and that the bank clearly is just taking a while to transfer and to just be patient because the bank could take until 6PM. At the end of the day I believe he just assumed I didn't have the money because I am young. He even told me he was worried because it was such a large amount of money to be wired. The best part about all of this is 20 minutes after I got off the phone with him I received email confirmation from the bank confirming the transfer of the funds to Absolute Title. He could have just waited 20 minutes, but his unprofessionalism got the best of him. read more
