We had no idea there was an actual J-Dub membership awaiting! We planned to buy a t-shirt or hat on our way out to commemorate our finding but then the real fun began! When my husband told the guy helping us (manager maybe, if not he should be!) the reason we came in, his eyes lit up and he asked with a confident nod "You a J-Dub?" ... and then honored him with THE one and only J-Dub family membership. Sadly, the owner wasn't in for a JD brotherly send off, but we'll definitely be back when we're in the area. Fellow J-Dubs unite and give this place some love. Even if you're not, it's still a fun place to visit. The hazel nut coffee is a must try!

The pasties were not as amazing as photos showed. Basque cheese cake didn't melt in the middle once cut and it should to be a true one. It might be better if it wasn't so warm inside the restaurant. Eating warm food when you also are already sweeting is not comfortable and takes away from the whole experience. Canned sodas also a negative. Was very hopeful it would be amazing and take me back to Portugal. They weren't very free with their jam and some of the staff weren't the nicest or most friendly.(I think some were related to the owner). All and all it was a disappointment. It wasn't bad though it also didn't take us on trip to flavor town and party in mouth amazing.

What... the heck. Called ahead to find out about the wait, was told there was zero wait. Arrived…read moreabout 20 minutes later, host told us 30 minutes for a table. That's fine, places get busy quickly on a Sunday morning. Ended up waiting nearly an hour. It happens and sometimes it's worth it for good food. Our waitress was kind but clearly needed more help. Took her 15 minutes to get to our table. I asked her to level with me: How long would our food really take, because we have two antsy kids. She says 20 minutes. That's quick! Okay, we order. 10 minutes later, they say sorry we are out of orange juice. We did not order orange juice. They say they do have chocolate milk, which we did order. Glass (like, adult glass) comes for my kid and the guy explains they are out of chocolate milk so they mixed cold milk with hot cocoa powder. Looks chunky. He apologizes and says he needs to go across the street to get orange juice and chocolate milk so we can wait if we want. We don't. We just want to eat and leave. I order iced coffee (on the menu), they only have canned cold brew. Not ideal but fine. Burger (something I could honestly make at home) comes with dry breakfast potatoes. The flattest pancakes I've ever seen, complete with black grease marks from the griddle. I appreciate that the patio was nice and there was a water bowl for our dog but there were so many rookie mistakes that it felt like a restaurant that just opened last week and we're working out kinks. I'm actually annoyed at the 5-star reviews because there's no way they are at the same place we did.
