Excellent customer service, professional management and great choices for tools, bags and jewelry…read more I'm actually very shocked that Capital City Pawn doesn't have a 5 star rating. I've been their customer since 2008 and have never had a bad experience! Never. These reviews are crazy. As for letting customers know about their pawns that is the customer's responsibility. Secondly, they do let customers know in the mail. They try to extend your pawns if needed as well. Customers need to work with them. So to say they are rude and don't work with the customer, that is not true. As for their doors. lol. The doors are not jammed. The doors have buzz locks for safety of everyone. You ring a door bell, they buzz you in. Are we really complaining about doors? I also want to make it clear there is only one entrance and exit and that is the front of the store. If there is a back it is a fire exit and for employees only. Every single employee who has helped me with selling stuff, buying stuff, layaway or loans have been very professional to me. I've noticed professional customer service towards other customers as well. The only rudeness I have witnessed is by the customers. Sometimes customers don't like their quote. Often the customer are missing paperwork or do not have sellable goods, so they get frustrated or desperate and they take it out on the employees. As for the management, top notch!! Yes, I know what's up at this pawn shop because I've been coming here for almost two decades. I wanted to work here at one time! It looked like fun and challenging. Plus I love learning new things and helping people. Take this 3 star rating and put it in the trash! It is a 5 star store. At least this store on Auburn Blvd. is!

Last week I entered the store with my grandma-in-laws coins to try and sell at least some of them…read morefor her. There has been a recent tragedy in the family, where her elderly veteran brother was ran over and crushed and they don't have enough money to cremate him (Mark Whorton, 61). James, the old man, came over and started looking at them. After a few minutes, he was done and asked how much I wanted to sell the first and most expensive coin for. I told him $350 which is well below the price range that this particular coin is selling for on Ebay and other coin exchange sites. When I told him that, he threw up his hands, barked "I'm not interested" and walked away. I was confused and after a second I got his attention again and asked if he had another price in mind. He came back, looked at the Greysheet and offered $210. I of course said no, so he grumbled and started complaining about how he has to deal with this every single day (which is job....) and then refused to quote the rest. I told him thank you for looking at the coins and he didn't say anything back. The next day I listed the coin on eBay and it sold within hours for $390. I am very disappointed. My family and I have spent thousands of dollars here buying silver and various coins. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to purchase or sell. If you want to be treated rudely and ripped off, come here. If you want a pleasant experience... go anywhere else. Thanks James!
