There were a couple of rooms that were being redesigned and a lot of winter sale items. I was able to get ideas for different rooms in our apartment, as one who might. The best part of this trip was looking at a lamp in the one of the rooms, and as we made it to the end we stopped in the As Is section and I saw the lamp that was regular price $149.99 and on sale for $99.99. Then the real surprise came when I turned a corner and saw it for $69.99! All I can say is make sure you keep your eyes open and walk around because you will find those deals. They only had self service registers, I miss having regular cashiers. An associate helped me get the lamp in the cart. If you change your mind on items, they have baskets right beside it that you can toss in there. At the end of the trip I went and bought a hot dog for $1, it was just a regular one. The condiments were self service to the side and I saw mustard, Swedish mustard and ketchup. I would have liked to have some relish but that didn't happen.

The owner, Daniel Hemler, had the nerve to argue with me about the job I hired him to do every time I asked why he was not doing things up to manufacture recommendations or industry standards, I am a paying customer and asked for a job to be done a certain way it should be done how I ask and I should not have to argue with the person I hired; I even pointed at my neighbors fence and told him I wanted it just like that but my fence is approximately 6 inches lower than the neighbors... He did not show up most days to start working until after 3pm and when it gets dark at 6pm that only gives about 2 hours of decent sunlight to work which is not enough time to get anything accomplished correctly. I could go on and on about the horrible job this company did but I would much rather let Karma handle people who do shady business... Trust your gut & find an actual professional!!!! Everyone I have had out to quote me a price to fix all the things this company screwded up shakes their head at the unprofessional and embarrassing work that was done on my fence.

I shopped around over the weekend before we met with Chris at his shop and he and Zuma helped us pick out a gorgeous remnant and the price was unbeatable. Next up was getting the template made which followed the next day. Chris understood our need to move quickly and was able to work us into his very succesful business' calendar. After the template crreation Crhis team was going to install the granite the next day. So that is only at four day turn around, which is unheard of in the countertop fabercation world. Chris called on the day of the install with bad news... my wife had unfortunately mismeasured and the piece of gratine we had selected was to small for the job. With Chris and company out on jobs, my wife and Zuma found a new remenanat, but this tiem it was SileStone, which is what we have in other areas of the house. Amazing! Customers come first at San Antonio Granite Works. Chris was still able to get the job done in time for our realtor's pictures of the house and we could not be happier with the service we have received from this wonderful local business. Not suprising that they take of people they have provided San Antonioians charity work many times via Mi Casa and other support services. We previewed their work and was apparent they take pride in their jobs. My Wife had difficulty finding a stone that complimented our decor and Zulma, one of the owners, took the time to go with my Wife to multiple stone yards to find several stones that fit our budget and decor. After selecting our slabs Chris, one of the owners, came to measure and produce templates once we had chosen our slabs. Once the slabs were delivered to their warehouse we had the ability to go to the shop and layout the templates on our slabs of marble and granite, ensuring the grains and patterns were presenting to our liking. The installed product was exactly what we had in mind. The granite and stones were beautiful and the production (cuts and edges) were beautiful. Chris and his installation crew ensured the product they delivered exceeded our expectations. Unlike others, they don't perform an installation and send another crew behind them to fix production problems or installation mistakes. Sue Haley was the first sales associate to help me. I was having problems with my visualizer app and she took me right to their computer and helped me to visualize my tile selections in my bathroom. She was very knowledgeable and patient in showing me how to access and use the visualizer app. I selected a few tiles that I liked and Sue Haley set me up with their designer Marianne. I showed Marianne the large format tile I had selected for my shower walls and she pulled some floor tiles for me and showed me how you can set them up against the large format tile display making it easy to see if they go well together. She also let me know that all she needed was my builders information and I could take five samples home free. I had no idea. This was such a convenient service and it helped me a lot to take these samples home and see them in my bathroom. I selected the tiles, and a few days later I returned the samples that I didn't want. That day a sales associate named Serenity easily helped me pick out the grout color that would pull the wall and floor tiles perfectly together. I was able to select all the supplies I needed completely in my budget. They have very competitive pricing. Anywhere from inexpensive to custom-made expensive and everything in between. There is something here for everyone. I highly recommend Floor and Decor in Live Oak by Ikea in San Antonio Texas.

Todd is the owner and president of the company and he came by to look at our bathroom and hear about what we envisioned for the remodel. Todd showed up on time for our consult, and was very friendly and knowledgeable, we discussed price and materials and came to an agreement on what we needed our budget to be. Todd wrote up a quote and contract, we reviewed and signed it, and agreed on a start time for the project. We met Todd at a material store and picked out all the tile and discussed fixtures. Todd has a cabinet maker that works with him and this worked out because we had a custom vanity in mind. The representative from the cabinet maker came by and got all the dimensions and finish choices that we requested. This remodel was going to be down to the studs, replace the tub with a walk in shower, plus a modification on two existing walls, and the installation of a door between the bedroom and bathroom, so it was a major project, but Todd assured us they were up to the task. Todd's and his crew showed up on the day we agreed on and after introductions, they got to work. Todd estimated 2-3 weeks, and they finished exactly at three weeks. Because of the new wall in between the bedroom and the bath, the bedroom walls were painted completely so everything matched. We also had custom shelves in our bedroom that had to be taken down while they painted, and they reinstalled them when they finished. Mario, the lead craftsman on the project was amazing, he truly a master craftsman who can do it all, carpentry, tile work, plumbing and electrical, and his helpers, Noe and Steven were very good also. The vanity top was custom cut by one of Todd's vendors and he did an exceptional job. Overall we love our bathroom, it is exactly how we envisioned it, and would recommend Stiefvater Construction highly. Todd went above and beyond managing the project and was very open to us picking out all the tile styles and paint colors. He checked in on a daily basis to see how everything was proceeding, and always kept us updated. If you have a construction project we would highly recommend you giving Todd a call, we are sure he could help you achieve your vision.
