I highly recommend Twist Pilates to anyone who wants to live a better life!

The programs are so much more than just working with a personal trainer- they are a personalized experience that is curated to you and your goals. I've learned so much about nutrition and exercise from my trainer, Kody, that I really would not have gotten any other way. He supported and encouraged me throughout the entire journey. My goal was to make changes in my life for my overall health as I get older and reduce my chances of injury. This program far exceeded those expectations and showed me that my body is capable of way more than I ever imagined. For example: I am now training for a half marathon... I really did not see that coming. UP and Kody in particular showed me how strong I really am and how to nourish my body in a way that has improved my vitality. The results really speak for themselves... I would honestly recommend UP to anyone regardless of their goals.

I'm SO happy he finally has his own location in Adams Morgan, as well as doing massage at Skin Alchemy (a lovely and convenient spa located in the Capitol Hilton). In my experience, Mo takes his time with each client and has a way of tailoring the workout or massage experience to each person's specific needs. As a woman, I was always afraid of lifting weights. I didn't want to hurt myself or gain weight. Mo taught me how to lift weights in a way that helped me slim down and gain strength at the same time. It's been the MOST effective workout I've ever done. He'll mix weight lifting, plyometrics and boxing all into one workout to make it more fun (and go by way faster if you're impatient around your workouts like me!). For massage, he does deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy. He's worked with famous NFL athletes and the Washington Mystics for pain management and brings that expertise to his everyday clients as well. Can't recommend him enough!

What stood out about Shawn was his focus, seriousness, experience, attentiveness to my goals, and very evident dedication to his craft. And while it's a small thing, I should note his professionalism and punctuality--which (from what I hear) are rare in this field.

I am continually impressed by how hard he works to support and help me reach my goals, with frequent modifications and updates along with sound advice. Josef creates a custom program for you which progresses and changes over time. Most important of all, I saw results quickly, after one week, no joke. I am continually amazed at my progress as I get fit! I love how I'm starting to look after just a month of training :-) P.S. PS- regarding the website, please don't get the impression that Josef is trying to "sell" his business to you; in your dealings with him, there will be absolutely nothing that is "gimmicky", no sales pitches, no annoying procedures, etc. It's a VERY honest business, and there's virtually no fine print. There are other trainers besides Josef, but they're all equally adept at helping you carry out your fitness program.
