Excellent doctor! Hands down! I like his approach to health, not the typical doctor prescribing pills like crazy!

I have been a patient for over a decade but in the last few years, the level of service provided leaves much to be desired. From cancelled appointments because good old doc doesn't feel like going to work to excessive waiting times despite appointments (minimum 1 hour wait pretty much anytime). It came to the point, where I did not even try to get an appointment with the doc and decided to see Layda. Unfortunately, as of recent, she is no longer working at Abrams Medical Center. Now I can barely get my prescriptions refilled. I ran out of a medication 5 days ago and despite 4 detailed phone messages (since nobody seems to be picking up the phone at that place at all) as well as multiple on-line attempts. After a week and a half of trying to contact Abrams, I finally get a call back, only to be rudely told NOT TO CALL THE OFFICE for refills. It really appears that this office is truly geared towards selling more and more stuff rather than taking care of patients. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

I've been a patient for more than 10yrs and this place has gone to the dogs. I recommended my husband, mom, sister and granny all here. Dr. Abrams is great but you will hardly ever get an appointment with him anymore, only his PA or NP which are OK, but not him. The issue I have with this office is you can only reach them sporadically, whether to set and appointment or follow up questions. They hardly will even call you back when you leave a msg, even if its urgent. Its been like this for more than 1yr, I will have to find another PCP. read more

Omg was hesitant about seeing a new provider but i am so happy i did! What an amazing PA Diana Cherkiss is. I am glad i was able to establish a great relationship with her and look forward to my annual checkups. Their office is extremely nice and so helpful and most importantly ON TIME! good luck to get a person to answer the phone. they state that they are open on saturdays. Twice I showed up and no one is there. their phone recording stated that they were opened. I left 2 messages and no one calls you back. Right now I'm not sure if they are still in business. read more

I have been going to this Doctors office for years and the front office staffs friendliness and competency continues to decrease. I called in to make an appt and the operator told the me that though there was not two appointments together that it wouldn't be a problem to see my husband and I together. Once I got to the office this story changed and not only did they give me an attitude they made it seem as if it was my fault there agent gave me the wrong information. I will never be coming back to this office again!!!! Don't come here the service is terrible..... read more

Dr. Abrams is thorough and has wonderful bedside manner. He is worth the wait. I 100% recommend him.

Sometimes things get better over time and other times they don't. I have been going here for the last 12+ years have recommended the office, have my parents and family friends coming here as well. I generally go to the office just for my annual physical but every now and then need to go in for other stuff happening throughout the year. I've been seen by the MD, PA, APRN that all work there. Over the last few years though you can only get an appointment to be seen by the PA or APRN. Ok no problem. The wait times have increased as well as the amount of chairs in the waiting room and the range of services they now offer (IV therapy,HCG, B12 etc). However, this past year my experience has been horrible. The office staff was once very pleasant has become extremely unprofessional. I have called several times no one answers the phone at all so you have to leave a voicemail to get a return call. Even told the provider via telehealth at my appointment how poorly the customer service was and the reason was that they have a lot of staff out due to covid. Which is a poor excuse, hire new staff so the lines can always be answered. Even if staff is working from home they can transfer the office line to have someone answer. I needed some FMLA paperwork to be signed they had the paperwork for two weeks but informed me it couldn't be signed until I was seen. I had to wait two weeks for a 6 minute appointment to just ask for my paperwork to be signed to return to work. Never once did the staff mention any fee in all the times I called, left voicemails and received a return call the following day. Otherwise in those two weeks I would have paid the fee so everything can be done in a timely manner required by FMLA. The provider told me at my appointment they would get the forms fax that evening again no mention of any fee. Next day called FMLA no paperwork called their office to follow through no answer, waited an hour called back again no answer just the voicemail letting me know I reached them during business hours. I left a voicemail and they got ahold of me the following day only to find out paperwork hasn't been sent because we need to collect a fee. Extremely poor poor communication. Better to find a practice that values their patients and takes pride in the staff they hire. I don't understand how you can run a medical office where no one picks up the phone. My own mother was calling to get a refill on her BP medication and couldn't get ahold of someone either. I now understand why reviews are all so poorly across different sites in regards to customer service. read more

This has been the worst profesional medical experience I have had. After not being able to get attended by the doctor last year this year proved imposible, the assistant was not very thorough. Called in to change the appointment for this coming year and the rudest attendant ended up yelling at me because I was asking for my lab work which they usually set up and send give to me to do in advance. She did not let me talk, and yelled constantly. I don't think any professional person has the right to yell. To Go To a doctors office and never be able to see the doctor is disappointing, but to have someone yell to you because you are trying to set up an appointment and have questions is out of line. read more

This office was recommended by a friend. Just called to make our initial appointments and the first thing I am greeted with is that if I miss my appointment I will never be given another appointment in this office again. She explains that it's a company policy. How unprofessional and rude is this for the medical office. That shows zero empathy and respect for your patients. First of all I have not even met your doctor yet. While I have no intention of missing my new appointment the fact that this is their only priority while I am confirming my appointments shows me the type of people that run this place. There are many good doctors office's out there. If this man only cares about the bottom line he is not worth my time. read more

I have been a patient for more than 10 years. What sadness me the most, no what hurts me the most is that he doesn't take the time to speak to his patient on the phone. Not everyone has the luxury of wAlking in paying the copay to be seen for 10 mins of at that with the doctor. I remember when he first started there was no weight loss program, he didn't have any sleep drop program. It was more one on one with his patient At one point during my 10 years there i loss my job and was need of a doctor. He didn't see me because I couldn't afford the co-payment. That really was a tough pill to swallow. What he didn't know was that I was suicidal and ready to give up. I came to him because I trusted jinx I felt comfortable taking to him. I knew he would listen and help. Unfortunately he didn't and pushed me away. I am still here thanks to a stranger that found me crying. She talked me through it and comfort me. A stranger! How lucky was I that she happen to be there when I was. Due to our history I gave him another chance but he is failing miserably and his staff has no people skills, are in the wrong job and need to show more empathy with the patients. Instead of talking behind the glass door in which we can all here them. Dr. Abrams I know you are successful now and you go on speechifying g engagements, and are constantly staying on top of the latest medicine. But at what cost to your patients! read more

I have been going to Abrams medical center for about 2 years. After seeing many many other doctors telling me there was nothing with me or that I was too young to complain about so much I was ecstatic to find Dr. Abrams and Diana. They listened to all my symptoms and fixed me! They have wonderful bedside manners and they always listen even when it's a long list of things. I have never had to wait for more then 30 minutes from waiting room to seeing someone inside. The entire staff is friendly and they always return calls when you call during off hours. I have recommended many friends to them. They are great! read more

A Dr. is as good as the service he and his office staff provide - Request most expensive exams when not needed and when cheaper options are available - HORRIBLE Staff - Do not return calls, have called at least 8 times in 2 months as I want to see Dr to review my wife's file and get an explanation but they want charge for me to see them - The Drs. Wife is the office manager and she works for home. She has not called back to address my issue/concerns and seems not to care unless her LOUSY office staff has not mentioned anything to her. Their are many good Drs., out there why even bother if you have to deal with incompetent and unprofessional staff. go to someone that will value you as a patient and respect your time as much as you do theirs. read more

I love this Doctor, I love his staff. I dont mind the wait because once Im seen, DR ABRAMS gives me his undivided attention. I never feel rushed, and he's the kind of doctor that treats the root of the illness not just the symptoms. I have worked in the medical profession before, and am very aware of how medical offices are run, this doctor has a great team and system in place.Keep up the great work! read more

First appointment with the doctor was great. Seems to know his field and very pleasant person. Made me feel veryy at ease. I came there by referral of a friend so the 50 min drive didn't bother me. The desk girl gave me a 2:30pm appt upon leaving my first visit. I specifically requested that time of day because of the far distance and I would not be able to make an early morning time. My very important follow up for test results is the reason for a 1 star and never to return. I arrive for My 2:30 Appt. , I check in with the girl and Tell her that I spent all morning trying to call to reach someone to verify my appt since nobody called me . She explained that they have been very busy and only one person is there to answer calls. So I write my name in the book and take a seat. At 3pm, the girl calls me to the window and tells me that I had an 8:30am appt .We debate this, and I am explaining how I drive almost an hour to get here that I was specific for an afternoon time. She also tol me that their automated call system noted that I was called three day before but my Line was busy. Is that a real system of verifying patients appointments? really? Anyhow, she tells me sorry but I cannot be seen. I argue the fact that regardless of the miscommunication, today was an Important test results day, to please ask the doctor if he could see me for 15 min. She answered "sure" with a sarcastic tone, and stepped away for a Minute only to return and tell me the doctor wont see me but I can return tomorrow morning at 8am. I reiterated that there is no way I can come that early, and after expressing my disappointment with what has happened, I told her I will find another doctor and I left. I am 44 years old and I have been to many doctors offices and explerenced several miscommunication issues, and have ALWAYS been accomodated. I thought for sure as a new patient who had Just travelled far, that they would have squeezed me in for my results. Thank you for my time. read more

after not being able to go to the doctor for over a year, i finally got to the office today.... i actually made the appointment due to the concern of the doctor and his staff who called me on various occasions regarding coming back after a year from last check up.... Dr Abrams is a special doctor who has not lost yet that bed side manner that most physicians now a days seem to have forgotten. his staff, especially Hope made me feel once again welcomed. Dr Abrams acknowledged me like if had just seem me a week ago (which i think this is amazing due to the amount of patients he is seeing, i am sure!) i did have an appointment for 9:20am but found a waiting room filled with others waiting as well. it was approximately 10:30 or so when I went in. which i believe it was not bad at all for the service rendered by Dr Abrams... He is a listener, adviser and caring person.. he has various services available at his office such as weight lost program (but nor himself or his staff have every been pushy about it) information is there for you if you ask but it is not informed upon you. I usually do not like going to the doctors but with Dr Abrams, he is like sitting and talking with a friend.... very clean office and well organized. read more

Very impressed, this was my first visit and the office was being renovated but in spite of that, I was taken care of immediately. Doctor is extremely nice and was very thorough. You don't find too many doctors that believe in bio-identical hormones and I am so very glad that I found Dr. Abrams. read more
