While things like classes have a graduated pay scale (from free to donation pricing), the space is open to the public to just come in and start doing your art and it's free, like free free. They operate off of donations so they rely on the public to donate crafting supplies but you can use anything there to create art - for free. They ask that if you come with friends to call ahead but otherwise it's just good in general to check their website to see their hours since they regularly offer classes, open studio hours and have some days dedicated to a certain type of craft like fabric arts or screen printing.

I recently purchased two pieces of fine-art paintings on canvas. I saw the pieces online and knew…read morewhat I was looking for when I walked into the Weems gallery on Wyoming for the first time. I looked around for a few minutes and found my pieces. The price was right as they were on sale. So, I purchased them. I was happy to own these beautiful works of art, but my experience with the woman who condescended me left a bad taste in my experience there. She treated me with no more respect than as though I were an ignorant gorilla seeking to purchase something that was above my unrefined, know-nothing inabilities. All I wanted to do was make my purchase and leave quickly, as her contempt towards me for my not having a doctorate in contemporary fine art was palpable. To the very end, she disregarded my concern about wrapping the one-thousand-fourteen-hundred-dollar paintings, dismissing my inquiry because they were sale items. I will never walk into a Weems Gallery again: Precisely because of her.

The size of the event and the walk they were very well thought out and orchestrated. I really enjoyed this experience and plan to go back again with friends and family.

I remember my college days sitting in art history learning about this amazing artist. Since the…read morefirst time I laid eyes on his work I loved it. My favorite piece of his being the starry night. This guy had so many interesting amazing pieces. It's almost heartbreaking he never got the recognition he deserved while he was still alive. As I walked through the beginning there were different quotes from his letters and information about him. I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with joy and sadness. You can tell he never knew the magnitude he brought to the world with his art. This experience was much more immersive that I'd anticipated. Seeing his art come alive in the room was amazing and overwhelmingly beautiful. When Starry Night made its appearance I was left in aw. My jaw dropped and my heart jumped for joy. I am eternally grateful to have been apart of this experience. Thank you Yelp and the Beyond Van Gogh coordinator for giving me one of the best experiences. I highly recommend this show for all art enthusiasts! The designers who pieced this show together did a fantastic job!
