AVOID!!! They solicited us and many others in the area for work. Quoted us a large job and had not one but two guys walk the property and quote us. Signed that day and then we were stood up 3x. Finally showed up and told us that they would require 3k more on top of the signed quote because 'these are forest trees' WHAT?? These are the same trees you saw a week ago and quoted!! These guys were like no other tree service we have ever used before! They were very professional, quick and very thorough. Brad was very knowledgeable about the different trees and gave us suggestions on which trees to trim and where. They weren't interested in just coming in and hacking all of the trees! If you are in need of tree service suggest you call some other company. Any other company would be a better choice. Over the 25 years we have lived here, we have had many different service companies help us maintain our property. Our experience with the owner of Above The Rest was unlike anything we have ever witnessed. They were finishing up the job, and the job foreman asked for our thoughts on the work they completed. We simply asked for a few additional branches to be removed from one of our trees. What happened next caught us completely off guard. The owner went into a rage. We were verbally abused/threatened by the owner. Between the F Bombs and other verbal threats, my wife and I were just shocked. In retrospect, we should have called the police, but when in a situation like this, you don't always think clearly. We did pay for the service. The workers did what was expected of them and we did not want them negatively impacted by the completely unprofessional behavior of the companies owner. read more

Don't use this company. It is a "Cut and Run" company. They still had to fix a few things, and they said that they would come back to fix but they never showed up. They totally disappear on us without getting back to us. Don't give them a check until you are satisfied. They say things they are not going to do, so don't trust what they say. Make them do it while you have them right in front of you, otherwise, you are never going to see them again once you pay them. There are so many trustworthy companies with good business ethics. Horrible company! After finishing the job of cutting down a large dead oak in my yard, ATR cut down one in a neighbors yard. They dropped the last load of limbs from my neighbors tree in my yard and drove away. I tried for two weeks to get them to remove the limbs. They have ignored my calls and texts. I also asked for the proof of certification and insurance the HOA wants. They have ignored those requests also. On top of that they trashed my backyard while cutting down the oak. Horrible company. Zero customer service. Do yourself a favor and avoid Above the Rest Tree Service! read more

I made a huge mistake hiring Above tree Rest Tree Service. they claim to work to the Highest standard. WOW, That's a laugh. I paid them over 10 Grand to remove 2 big trees. They took my money and didn't complete the work! Now they have gone into hiding and won't even answer the phone. My experience says Jeff, the owner, has no ethics. Jeff, the owner, has a tough guy approach but a hardworking crew, great equipment and an "Aussie" named "Ron" who is your contact 'salesman' and he is a straight shooter, a fast talker and knowledgeable. But here's the thing: they delivered. They left some ruts in my yard but I knew that was gonna happen and they did the best they could to make it right. I have had other tree companies stop by and overbid or triggered my B.S. meter. ATR took out a couple of trees and the guys worked together and got 'er done. This company any employees have no respect for a persons property. They had at least 9 guys and not one of them spotted for the guy on the machine taking out my sago palm and robillini. While taking out the robillini they were suppose to take out the rootball as well as the tree and the rootball was left behind not taken out like I paid for it to be done. They broke my sprinkler pipes in the bed were the tree was and hid them in the tarp that was in the bed .I didn't find out til they left, I found them rolled up into the tarp. In the other bed where the Sago palm was, again broke the sprinkler pipes, when they pulled out the sago palm they pickup the tarp as well...(I told Jason that there where sprinkler pipes in the beds and they would need to cut the tarp away from the tree if needed to.) So when they didn't cut the tarp away from thee tree, (I had already removed the rubber mulch away from both trees) , when they pulled the tree out they caught hold of the tarp which in turned pulled it and toppled a very heavy military statue over and chipped it. When I came out when they were done the statue was still on the ground and when I went over to pick it up, not one of the workers helped me pick it up. Jason a supervisor came over and did help me pick it up. He stated that things heavy, I know it should have never fell if your guys would have been spotting the guy on the machine while he was pulling the tree out, they should have seen it before it fell and stopped him before it fell over. It also ruined the flag that was on it and chipped the cap on the statue. They also didn't remove the block wall around the areas where they pulled out the trees, they pull a few on the first level just to be able to get to the trees but road over the second level and pushed them into the ground. It took 3 calls and saying I was going to post pictures and a reviews before the owner contacted me. When I told him what all transpired he said he would reimburse me $300.00. This was a week ago. I haven't received the check and when I called today, the man who answered said he was not Jeff but would let Jeff the owner know I haven't received the check. Jeff never contacted me to assure me of this situation. You would think he would have gotten back in touch. So this is the type of business you will recieve from this company. I've also had to contact another tree company who came out and remove the robillini rootball for me. I have pictures and witnesses to these facts. AVOID- DECEITFUL PEOPLE WITH ZERO INTEGRITY. I hired them to remove 2 trees and grind the stumps in August. Initially everything looked great- then after we got down under the dirt and wood chips left over from the grinding, I find there is a large section of the root ball they missed, leaving me with a large pointed chunk of wood sticking up out of my yard. It couldn't be left like that, so I reached out to see if they would come complete a job I paid almost $3000 for. I have reached out multiple times, usually speaking with Matt, who assures me they want to take care of it and get me on the schedule- yet not one person has ever called me back over the last 90 days to actually schedule anything. I've reached out multiple times with no results. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the state of Florida, but there's no actual repercussions from these so they obviously don't care. This company and the people who work for it have zero integrity and only care about taking your money. Their door to door salesman was super nice, and they were on the job less than 24 hrs after I agreed to hire them- but my mistake was not looking them up prior to letting them start. They have terrible reviews for this same thing on multiple sites- so this is their standard practice, not a one off. I'm just going to hire a local REPUTABLE company to fix their shoddy work so I can move on with my life, but I hope other people avoid this company at all cost. read more

DO NOT USE this tree service. They are a "cut and run" kind of company. When my client got an initial quote to "de-moss" a couple of trees and remove some dead branches. They came out and started one tree...when they were done, they went out to check it to see how it looked... it was literally de-mossed on the exposed side only. When they told them they were paying for the whole tree, the negative comments started..."no one is going to see the back side"..."do you know how hard it is to get the whole thing?", when they told them there would be NO pay unless the whole tree is done they went back and did the whole tree which they reluctantly did. NOW, for the 2nd tree. They were supposed to remove the moss from the lower part of the tree and remove the hanging vines. When they came back out, they and literally CUT THE LOWER branches OFF so they didn't have to de-moss it!!! NOW, for the 3rd tree. Simply remove the dead branches and vines. Upon doing so, they let the main branch swing down hitting their covered classic car that they assured them didn't need to be moved out of the way. After a couple of "oops, sorry's" and seeing no damage was done they moved on to the "clean up"....yes, leaving moss, leaves and branches all over the yard, in their pond and on their driveways and walkways. By this time they were so over this company they wanted them gone! Again DO NOT USE this service! They gave them a try and will never recommend or use them again.
