Lincoln can speak a bunch of different languages and makes the class really fun and easy to learn. He teaches with strict grammar, so he's ensuring that we are learning properly. I learn best with hands-on methods, so in-person classes work best for me. The classes at AIL are in-person, with the option to join virtually, if necessary. The class materials can all be found in the ortal, which has proven to be a very helpful resource. I absolutely recommend Atlanta Language Institute if you learn well in-person. They offer many languages, too!

Each student is challenged to their own ability level, but in a way that is beneficial for the entire class. They take a practical approach to teaching + learning where all the prompts, responses, and casual conversations that are naturally spoken throughout the class, are both typed and recorded so we're able to listen and/or watch the videos to review, as well as print or save the .pdf of notes. This genuine environment has created classes of students that are dedicated to learning and supporting one another and have a lot of fun in doing so! I encourage you to contact them and try out a class since you're reading this review!

WARNING TO F-1 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: HIGH UNEXPECTED TRANSFER FEES…read moreRating: (1 / 5 Stars) I strongly advise any F-1 international students considering The English Island to thoroughly review their fine print and policies before enrolling. When I requested to transfer my SEVIS record to another SEVP-certified institution, the school assessed heavy administrative penalties--including a $499 "Expedite Transfer Fee" for giving less than 3 weeks' notice, alongside demands for full term tuition for classes I would not attend. What international students need to know: SEVIS Rules: Under federal regulations (8 CFR 214.2(f)(8)), SEVIS records belong to the federal government. A school/DSO cannot legally refuse or hold back a student's SEVIS record transfer over financial or business fee disputes if the student maintains status and submits an official acceptance letter. Financial Pressure: The administration uses steep notice fees and short deadlines to exert financial pressure on departing students. Know your rights under federal immigration law before enrolling here. If you encounter resistance during a transfer, keep all written documentation and contact the DSO at your new institution or report the issue to SEVP (SEVP@ice.dhs.gov).
