I learn best with hands-on methods, so in-person classes work best for me. The classes at AIL are in-person, with the option to join virtually, if necessary. The class materials can all be found in the ortal, which has proven to be a very helpful resource. I absolutely recommend Atlanta Language Institute if you learn well in-person. The communication between the director and I was positive and she was very responsive to questions, et al. I was trying to do something very difficult: take Arabic immersion - 8 hours per day - for 5 days straight. We all knew it would be a tall order. But I was motivated. I showed up on the first day and everyone was there (the director, Amber, and the instructor). They had materials ready for me and a place to learn. My instructor was from Syria and was very professional. After about 6 hours, my brain was leaking out of my ears. And that's how the rest of the week went. My instructor was very patient and adjusted her teaching content based on my needs. I went in with zero proficiency and my goal was to score on the charts for a federal language proficiency test. Again - we all knew it was a tall order. The test consists of listening and reading. As a result of the class, I was able to score what I needed on the exam. For the people who bash the school - I would say to remember that you are dealing with humans and they make mistakes. Flexibility in learning languages extends to flexibility with the instructors. I understand frustrations - but it's all what you put into the system. I found Amber and the others who work there to be up front with customers. And believe me - they aren't in the job for the money. Overall I was very happy with the level of instruction I received. I would definitely use their devices again.
