This is a great tree company. Communication was impressive. Kevin and Kelsey kept a tight schedule from scheduling a free estimate to the day of the service. The crew that came to our house, Josh Joseph and Shawn (sp?), did a phenomenal job trimming the trees. See the pictures attached before and after. We had 11-12 palm trees that needed much trimming. The crew showed up at 9 am... like they said they were going to... ON TIME! They first walked through the yard with us confirming the job (it turns out that we had one additional tree that needed some work). Regardless, they started working right away. They only took a lunch break during the whole day. They worked until the very end around 4:30 pm. We have had a lot of contractors for our home. The good, bad, and ugly (and no-shows). This business is among the top. Price: We called and obtained quotes from several companies in the Jacksonville area. This company's price is about $5-$20 more per tree than the average, which I calculated to about $55-$60 per palm tree. However, the lack of headaches is completely worth it not to mention the time taken off to stay home that day. Also, they honored a coupon that was in the monthly flyer that saved us another $75. So in the end, it was pretty average for the service provided. Clean up: The crew cleaned up the yard nicely and spent some time to make sure all the palm leaves were picked up. Overall: I was satisfied with the services from Above and Beyond Tree folks. Would not hesitate to recommend them to the Yelp community. Great find! Very efficient throughout the process of giving quotes, sending communications and scheduling. Office is prompt at giving answers and make sure we are aware of the process. They have a $300 minimum for any job so although we only need one palm trimmed, we decided to remove a small dead tree at the back as well. The workers are courteous and on time as well. I called the number, and after listening to the prompts, I evidently chose the wrong 'option'; David answered, and when I told him that I was calling about having a tree removed, he chastised me and told me that I needed to call back and select option 1 for Customer Service. Evidently, his job is so important, and the office is so big, he could not simply transfer the call. I did call back and I left a message, but I never got a call back. We had the unfortunate need to have a large, well-established [dead] tree removed from our front yard. If you don't already know, let me tell you: the tree removal business (albeit honest hard work) must be lucrative! It's far from cheap to take down a tree! For me, it was worth the extra time to get estimates from several companies. I found Above & Beyond's ad in the monthly Money Pages magazine. The owner Kevin came to our house, drew up an estimate & promptly e-mailed it to me. His was the most competitive price, along with a coupon applied from the MP magazine. He & his crewman came out within a week (even though he had initially said it would be two weeks.) I wasn't home when they took the tree down but arrived as they were grinding the stump. When they completed the job, they used a leaf blower to be sure the mulch was off of the sidewalk. Kevin even assured me that, should I find any additional tree root "nubs" to give him a call & he would be glad to come back out. Having trees in your yard can reek havoc on your yard/curb appeal. Being new in the neighborhood, I found some businesses in the Money Pages. Called around for estimates, and picked Above and Beyond for their competitive rates and professionalism with me while making appointments for tree trimming. The customer service here is top notch! They return calls in a timely manner, they are courteous with you on the phone, and they work with YOUR schedule in making appointments. I had a scheduled appointment for a day later in the month, and when they had a cancelation, they called to inform me and I filled the vacant spot! Win win! The morning of the scheduled tree trimming party....it was raining cats and dogs! Pouring I tell you! I got the call....and I just knew that they were canceling due to the rain. BUT oh no!!! They were calling to inform me they were on the way. WOW! They came, trimmed, and listen to this....they cleaned up! I mean they not only picked up the tree debris, they raked my front yard, then they shoveled my front curb, before they blew the road clear of any mess. I was pleasantly shocked! They did a GREAT job on my trees and left my yard (sadly) nicer than when they got there! I will forever recommend this company to others and when the time comes again when I need my trees trimmed, I will be calling Above and Beyond...since it's obvious that's their mission! While employees from Above and Beyond were cutting down a neighbor's very tall pine tree, a large section fell onto my fence, taking out an entire section and destroying a 7ft fig tree as well. I contacted the owner, Kevin, from Above and Beyond and in less than two days he had worked with the fence company that originally put up the fence (Superior, which is also a fantastic company!) to have them replace the destroyed section, which Above and Beyond paid for in total, including repainting. In two weeks he had replaced my fig tree. There were no excuses, no hesitation and complete cooperation. I can not begin to tell you how impressed I am with the way they handled this entire situation. Not only does it speak favorably of their professionalism and attention to "customer" service, but it speaks well of Kevin as a man of integrity. We recently had some large, high limbs cut back from off our house and it was big job well done by Above and Beyond Tree Service. We had obtained quotes from a few different companies and while this was not the lowest bid, we went with Above & Beyond due to high recommendations. The single, less than perfect, part of the experience was the misquoted time. We received a text the day prior to the job saying arrival time would be between 1 and 3 p.m. Therefore my husband worked half a day, planning to be home at noon to show the workers the specific limbs to be trimmed, and I was busy working, from home, when they arrived at 9:30 a.m. In spite of the inconvenience, we were happy to see them show up and get the job done right. They had great equipment, lifts and plenty of help. The job was completed quickly and efficiently and all the limbs were chipped on site and debris was removed from the property. Above and Beyond did a great job and cleaned up everything! I had a medium sized tree cut down, a large tree hurricaine trimmed and medium tree also trimmed. They showed up on time (early actually) and Danny and I went over what needed to be done. One of them even did a little extra trimming for me. I found Above and Beyond through Money Pages and they came right out to do the estimate. I rent my home from invitation homes. The neighbors trees started coming over my fence so I put in a work order. As a tenant I'm responsible for the trees within the fence/yard. When Kevin got here I asked how much it would be to also trim up the palms since he was already here. He told me 50 bucks. I went inside.. got the check .. and Confirmed again that all trees would be $50. He said yes. When they finished up, I noticed he left three trees so I asked about them. He claimed he only agreed to do 2 trees. I asked if he would please honor his word and finish the other trees and he refused. He did give me back the check without my asking. But I would much rather have someone who sticks by his word. Your word is everything in business. Disappointed that he wouldn't go the extra mile after agreeing to it. Invitation homes is a huge company so I'm sure he more than got his share on $$ for his work. read more

This company came to my house and removed healthy green palm fronds which endangered the safety and the life of the tree. My request when hiring them was to only remove the dead fronds. If I had not stopped them after the first tree all four of my trees would be at risk of death due to the incoming cold weather. I had only asked them to remove the dead leaves! The Universities of Florida have clearly specified that healthy palm trees should not have green fronds removed. Only the dead ones. Removing healthy fronds weakens the tree, which puts my home at risk of damage during a storm with high winds! This also sets the tree up for diseases it would have otherwise been protected from. When I complained they said "They have a procedure they have to follow" which shows they do not know what they are doing, they are following a model and need to be educated how to treat trees living things, not peices of furniture you assemble! They should always ask the owner first before they start their work as to what the owner expects and base their work on the science of tree preservation provided by Florida's experts on the subject. Additionally, they came to my home with heavy equipment and ran over an AT&T fiber optic underground cable which could cost hundreds to repair. There was a sign on the wall of the house indicating the line was there. Hope they check with the owners of future homes before hauling equipment like that into a yard. read more

My Brother Rodney, Friday March 1, 2019 saw Above and Beyond Tree Service working on my neighbor's trees, Rodney just pruned my shrubs, He went to the guys and asked them if they could chip up the shrubs after their main job was done and gave them some money. After awhile a storm came, they were still working through it but finally had to call it a day, there is only so much you can do in a day. I didn't really know if they were going to come back? If all fails I'd just wait for the city yard debris to pick up the shrub debris. So I wasn't really concerned, Well to our surprise they did come back Today(Monday) to finish up the neighbor yard and they did pick up and shredded my shrub clippings. The point is they didn't have too, my shrubs wasn't their job, I'm glad they took the offer and helped me out. For that they deserve a 5 star rating! Wishing the best for this company. read more
