I hired SBS for deck repair, because my deck steps were falling apart. SBS replaced the steps and…read moremore to make my deck structure more secure. In the process of attaching the new steps, they inadvertently missed placing a 2x board against the beam. This created a trip hazard between decking and first step. Once I realized I asked for a work stoppage until it got remedied. They refused, and consequently because of the additional work that occurred, the only remedy available was to cut the deck board at the steps. This left a raw edge of the composite wood exposed on the deck. They would not admit to their mistake. And.. that is the issue... they will likely make this mistake again. I paid top dollar to get a deck solution that looks like an amateur did it. Construction is never perfect. But if you can't admit to your mistakes, then how can you get better? I literally wanted them to admit to it, so that this doesn't happen with their next customer. This is a painting company trying to do construction. Be careful.

We have an older home in St. Louis County that we were getting ready to sell. We threw St. Louis Roofing and Exteriors on the list just because the reviews on Yelp seemed pretty good. Wow, were we impressed! We got a prompt call back and an estimator looked at the roof the next day. Our estimate was very detailed, offering several options. St. Louis Roofing and Exteriors had the best price and we really appreciated the fact that they didn't try to sell us a bunch of other things we really didn't need. Work on our roof was started fairly quickly and completed in an amazing 2-3 days. Our property was cleaned up thoroughly and we were happy. For a while. Then it rained and our new beautiful roof leaked. We called to complain and they got right back with us, came out quickly and worked on the roof some more. It was still leaking so they came out a second time and it's been dry as bone ever since. Is that great customer service, or what? No excuses, no arguments, they just got right on it and made it right. We've since moved to the Kansas City area or we would have them work on our home again in an instant! I came home to my parking spot and ramp to enter my home blocked, I asked the construction worker to move the truck, he attempted to ignore me. I had to honk at him repeatedly and wait about 10 minutes to get them to move. I also found out my neighbor had told them to move as soon as they parked in the spot and they ignored them and parked illegally. The next day they knocked on my door 4 separate times while I worked from home trying to force me to move my car from my accessible spot to get out of there way even though the HOA rep had said nothing about people needing to move for them, and again not what accessible spots are made for. Construction on the project got delayed 5 days beyond there promised timeline. They were made aware I needed access and still blocked access, don't give excuses do better. Avoid this company if you don't want to be dissatisfied.

And my own kitchen and bathroom. Not all have been project managed perfectly - but after addressing problems with Scott they have been fully resolved. He is great to work with, and his carpenters are excellent. Several of his senior carpenters/project managers are very good at thinking outside of the box to problem solve, which is always a good thing. Included some photos to show the extent of renovations. Also have built new garages, garage-ports, decks, etc.

I have a single door garage and was having major issues with it opening and closing. Obviously this was a major headache as I could not leave the house not knowing if it would open or close. I had heard radio ads for a major garage door company in St. Louis, so I called and scheduled an appointment. They arrived on time and within 5 minutes told me that I needed a new garage door and new opener. Quickly providing a bid of $1000 - $1200. This seemed high to me and I found it curious that both the door and opener needed to be replaced. Given the high price and forced sales approach I declined their offer, however still had to pay the $100 service fee for the 5 minute review of the door. I then called Grand Home Solutions and spoke with Scott Vogel (the owner) about my garage door issue. After speaking with Scott a trade partner of Grand Home Solutions promptly showed up on time as well, however they took a very different approach. The service man actually took the time to listen to what was wrong with the door and then actually fixed the door, which ended up being a rusted wire to one of the sensors. Amazingly the original bid to "fix" the door with a complete new door and system of $1000 - $1200 turned into $89. I can't thank Scott Vogel and Grand Home Solutions enough for their honesty and approach to addressing the problem rather than automatically up selling me to a new door and opener. If anyone I know ever has a home improvement project or has an issue such as a faulty garage door I will gladly refer them to Grand Home Solutions.

We promptly received a receipt of payment from Duration Construction. The contract was for the replacement of the following: Clay tile roofing Asphalt shingle vertical siding Wooden tongue-and-groove soffit paneling Aluminum fascia Aluminum gutters Aluminum downspouts The scope of work specified that: The clay tile roofing would be replaced with underlayment and standing seam steel metal roofing. The asphalt shingle vertical siding would be replaced with standing seam steel metal siding. The wooden tongue-and-groove soffit paneling would be replaced with vented aluminum soffit panels. The aluminum fascia, gutters, and downspouts would be replaced with new aluminum components. After paying the deposit, Duration Construction made no effort to contact me or schedule the work. Multiple attempts to contact Duration Construction were made in November 2024, December 2024, and January 2025 to inquire about the status of the project. Work eventually began in February 2025 and resulted in partial completion. Duration Construction then left the job without notice, leaving behind uninstalled materials, debris, removed materials, and company equipment. Attempts to contact Duration Construction resumed in March, May, and June 2025. An email sent August 2025 resulted in a phone conversation. 08/11/25 is when I last spoke with a representative of Duration Construction. During that conversation, I was told my project was a "high priority" and that work would resume "in a couple of weeks." As of 09/11/2025, no one has returned to the site to resume work, nor has anyone contacted me with updates. All of the times I was able to reach a representative, I received only a series of excuses and apologies regarding the status of my project. The last proactive communication from Duration occurred in August 2024, when they encouraged me to make the initial payment
