Our 2002 Toyota Sequoia overheated on the 15fwy on Father's Day, it was the most unexpected present ever. We stayed overnight in Cedar City. Yelp around and found Above All Auto - reviews sound reliable and honest good service. We didn't have anything to lose, took our car first thing in the morning at 8am. We told Chris our situation and it took about 15-20mins and he told us our radiator got a serious leak and needs to be replaced. I couldn't be more thankful that they had a radiator in stock and fits perfectly in our car. We were told it'll be finished in 2hours. I'm amazed of how professional and how fast the process was. Price is reasonable, likely much cheaper than if I were to had it replaced in Los Angeles. True life savior. Gave us a peace of mind. We're super thankful car is fixed- works better than ever. These guys are rude! I have a tire blowout and I'm on the freeway on the side of the road. The tow guy yelled at me for wanting to use technology a.k.a. iOS maps to send him my exact location. He said he doesn't know how to do that and that's not my problem but I don't know this area I'm from out of town and he thinks that I should know like if I'm on a hill or if the freeway curves and crap like that. Just because this asshole doesn't use technology doesn't give them the right to yell at customers who do. I would never recommend these guys. I only gave them one star because I had to. I don't see why you would take your car anywhere else in Cedar City. I drove here from Virginia in my 1998 Volvo for a summer job, and was dismayed when my check engine light came on. I called several other auto shops in the area and took my car to one before Above All. The first auto shop told me that I needed a $500 repair, charging me double for a part I wasn't even sure I needed replaced. Let me also say, that as a younger woman car places are often rude, condescending, and sneaky. The first place was a little bit condescending, but Above All treated me like a capable human being who might know a few things, not like a stupid little girl. So I took my car to Chris at Above All and he was extremely helpful right from the start. He immediately told me that the other car place was overcharging me. I brought my car in that day and he made time to look at it and also to change my fuel filter and flush my transmission during the day. The other place had turned off my check engine light so I had to wait a couple of days to bring the car back so he could re-diagnose the problem. When I brought my car back, he immediately looked at it and I read a book for an hour while he checked out my car. He kept me informed along the way. Ultimately, Chris recommended that I NOT replace the part, which just shows how honest of a mechanic he is. He also definitely doesn't overcharge for anything. In brief: take your car here. You will get excellent service, not feel lied to, and certainly not be overcharged. read more

We were on vacation and our tow vehicle over heated and spewed out coolant all over the ground RIGHT at the entrance of Bryce National Park. Bummer. We luckily have AAA and asked our Tow Truck company to recommend a place to take our car that was large enough to fix a big problem if necessary, because we weren't really sure what was wrong. He took us to Above All Auto Inc. We were immediately greeted by Hank, the shop mascot, this beautiful dog with the best, sweetest personality. Then we met Chris. Chris, their general manager, was super warm, knowledgeable, and thorough. He took the car back, diagnosed the problem, and let us know it was a simple thermostat issue. He said it would take about an hour. Lent us the company truck to go get some lunch and he was done by the time we got back. I was INCREDIBLY blown away by their efficiency, honesty, kindness and just general decent human being-ness...(i know it's not a word, but it fits here). We have all been in a place where you are a stranger in a new town with a problem and zero leverage. This shop welcomed us in, fixed the car like we were family and sent us on our way with some great advice for where to go on our way back to make up for missing Bryce. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!!! Above All Auto says it perfectly in the name!! It's really the best auto repair shop I've ever dealt with. We were stranded with a broken down SAAB in Bryce Canyon but we lucked out when the AAA tow truck driver brought us to Chris Mock at Above All. He quickly (and honestly) diagnosed the issue with my 9-3 and helped get the part overnighted. He received the part the next day and 3 hours later I was driving my car home. I neglected to watch my temperature gauge climbing the switchbacks east of Cedar City, Utah - on my way from California to Chicago in my Miata. The consequences: no compression in 3 cylinders - a ruined engine. It took the better part of a week to acquired and ship an engine from California, take the old one out, and put the new one in with the myriad of parts all correctly placed with a new radiator, water pump and timing chain, but after a few glitches were set right, it worked fine all the way to Chicago, as good as it ever was. The boss, Chris Mock, dealt with me straightforward from the get-go, explaining my options, the costs, the problems, and saw that the car was put back in my hands in as good condition as I could expect. This place is so amazing! Our car broke down 30 minutes out of cedar city at 11 at night. The tow truck from the above all auto center promptly showed up with such a warm and friendly personality. They dropped our car off at their auto Shop, then took us to our hotel across the street. They were friendly, helpful and so efficient! So grateful to of had them help us. read more

Buzz gave me great advice which ended up saving me $3400! My car broke down on the I-15 and I ended up having it towed to above all and am so thankful I did! The manufacturer ended up paying for a new transmission (it was 10000 miles over warranty) not only this time but again 2 weeks later and it's all thanks to the honest advice of this wonderful individual. I am an out of town visitor to Cedar City that had my truck transfer case break down on the I-15 and I looked up a well reviewed mechanic and found Chris here. I had the truck towed and he was very very straightforward and got it done with a new case shipped from Mopar. Chris warned me that he wasn't entirely satisfied with one that arrived and how it fitted as my truck was a rare and hard to find configuration and during a Daimler era of Mopar, but it was the only way we could get it done in time for my return home. All was well, and I drove my truck back to the Bay Area with no problems and continued to drive it for a few months until it all of a sudden started making noises and eventually broke again! I have rarely found a mechanic more honest and forthright than Chris in my life. After the dealers here with my Mopar warranty were refusing to fix it, and were adding all kinds of "necessary" charges and give the runaround, Chris offered to even get in his car and drive up to me to fix it if I couldn't find a shop here that would work with him. I did find a shop here in the Bay, another Napa certified shop like Chris, and that shop mechanic also said that Chris was one of the most forthright guys he had dealt with! We got a new transfer case and all fixed and I didn't pay a dime! If you are looking for honest and excellent work, this is your man - whatever State you are in !! read more
