Road tripping from California and my car broke down 12 miles away from these guys. Caught a tow and was serviced by Fred, John, and Kyland who were absolutely amazing! Got to us within an hour of our arrival. Ran a diagnostic on my car, got on the phone with my insurance to file a claim, let us chill there for 4 hours while we figured out a rental, calls back home, etc... they ordered a new motor for my car and are holding my car there until we can get the motor replaced and drive back to UT to pick it up. They definitely made the process a lot easier and were around to crack jokes to cheer us up. Checked the fluids on our rental to make sure we were good to go and continue the rest of our trip to MT. 10/10, let these guys take care of you! read more

We were driving through cedar city with a rental car when we developed a leak in the sidewall of our tire. The rental company was no help and left us to figure out repairs on our own. It was a Saturday afternoon at 5pm. We called every open tire store in town but nobody had the right size. We called Steve's shell and while they didn't have the tire on hand they were so helpful in ordering the right size and scheduling the repair for first thing Monday morning. We got the car back on Monday morning, the tire was there, as promised, and they were able to get us back on the road in 15 mins. Stay away! Water pump replacement. Waited 5 days on our vacation. Mechanic got the wrong part. Said the correct one was 2 days or more. Never called me on status update. Obviously upset. I called Ford dealership 5 min away from Steve's Shell. Got the correct part. Arrived with correct part and said they would get to my truck when they could. While my entire family was in a borrowed car from a friend. I sat there and watched for an hour while they fixed other peoples cars. They are either, lazy, incompetent, liars, or don't care about customers. No idea how they got 5 stars. Although they did replace my radiator cap. The absolute worst customer service. I stopped in today to see if they had time to do a quick tire patch. The girl said "one second" and started walking around, then came back out and started working. After 15 minutes, I left because I still didn't know if they could do it or not. Initial quote to "fix" my car was $150, after being worked on and the car still not fixed the new amount is $241 and as I am now in the process of getting the car towed elsewhere for services they will not give me my keys until it is paid. I was in the middle of a 10-hour drive from Ogden, UT to Phoenix, AZ and my engine started acting up. From the onboard OBDII reader codes, I determined it was a spark plug and/or coil pack. I managed to limp my way to Cedar City, only to find everything was closed (Saturday). I stopped at the only other place open, Jiffy Lube, and they referred me to Steve's. I got to Steve's at around 3pm. The mechanic said he would take a look, but he he had evening plans, so he couldn't stay too late. I explained to him my situation and he agreed to do the work. The parts were in within the half hour and he got me back on the road by 4. This is a drive I do two or three times a year, I'll definitely remember this place. Prices are fair, the work is good, and, most of all, the mechanic is trustworthy. Also, they're pretty much the only place open on the weekend. read more

I was on a road trip through Utah camping in my truck when my engine started to run hot. It started guzzling full tanks of coolant every few miles. I got towed 97 miles (thanks AAA!) from Tropic all the way to Cedar City because Steve's shop was the closest and apparently most reliable. And I was so lucky! Steve lived up to his positive yelp reviews and recommendations from the tow truck driver and other local shops. He promised me he would look at it the same day and he did. He was laid back but seemed to understand the stress of the situation I was in. He found that the radiator cap seal was broken and had the new one delivered right away. We had the car towed to Steve's and Fred, the technician, let is know that he would have it repaired the same day. True to his word, the car was repaired by 8:00 pm the same day. Fred called me as soon as it was done. He was working on numerous other cars as well and ended up staying until at least 10 pm to try and repair them. I researched local businesses before I went to Steve's Shell. Being previous dealers of full lube bay stations my expectations are higher than most people. Fred Jr. and Jordan are a great team. I watched them both work together with walk-in customers and scheduled appointments. Neither getting frazzled while helping everyone. I went in with what I was hoping was a power steering leak and turned out to be a small coolant leak. OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My wife and I were passing through Utah on our way to Canada. My brake pedal started going to the floorboard before I would start slowing. I pulled in the station and briefly spoke to Fred Jr. He looked at my truck and determined the problem right away. He then called multiple sources and was able to get a part delivered within 10 minutes. My truck was on the lift and he had me back on the road in 56 minutes. Every gas station offers Air- for $1 but the compressors are J-U-N-K! I'm looking on here and yahoo maps trying to find an open store. ALL CLOSED!!! Except this She'll station. Not only does his air compressor work great, if I had a flat- they can fix from $5-$30 depending on what's to be repaired. Lucky for me, I just loss air over night and I was on my way. So my daughter is in Cedar city going to college and I am 6 hrs away. The other day her car made a pop and hiss sound and her air conditioner stopped working. I suggested she go to a parts store and see if someone could come out and check her hoses. She did that and the parts store recommended she go to Steve's Shell. So she goes there and the guy treats her like a complete idiot and rolls his eyes at her and then tries to order the part and have her pay $500 dollars for the repair. She just needed to know what was wrong which this gentleman told her and she paid 20 bucks for that info. How can people be so ignorant. Just because she is a woman does not mean she is an idiot. It is her first year in college and she was scared and was not sure what she should do. This never would have happened where we live. Its sad you cant be there for your kids but you trust people to be descent. Im guessing the guy did not have kids cause im sure he would not appreciate someone treating his daughter that way.
