The art cafe mentions it's better to make reservations so we did about a week or two in advance. A table was set up when we got there but there were only 2-3 families in there when we were there. I can imagine it'd get a lot busier on a rainy day though, so I wouldn't risk not calling ahead. I think the charge for each person was $8, plus the price of your piece. I had seen some people say they thought it was a pricy activity, and without any prices listed online I was a little anxious about how much it could end up costing. When you get checked it you're told to pick a ceramic piece off one of the shelves, and there was so much to look at. They really do have so much; big pieces, small pieces, bowls, plates, mugs, figures, ornaments, decor pieces, etc. The smaller pieces can be pretty cheap, I think the small bowls me and my daughter picked were around $10, but most definitely under $15. My son picked out a little race car and that was was probably around $15. But I saw much larger pieces that were $30+. So this can most definitely be a cheaper activity if you keep is small and I think the $8 fee for supplies, glazing and firing your pieces is perfectly reasonable. After you pick your pieces you can pick your colors off a chart on the wall that shows what the colors look like once the whole process is done. This was a fun way to spend an hour or so, and I love the little bowl I made. The staff was friendly and checked in on us frequently. I was able to get a color refill at one point. They give you the pick up information on your receipt, the turn around time was about three days and I'm pretty sure I saw it mentioned on their site that they'll pack and ship it to your home if you won't be around long enough to pick it up. We will most definitely be back next summer, I can see this being a great yearly tradition!

I was looking for something off my beaten path to do with my daughter who is an incredible artist - I discovered their offering of a workshop/class for two hours on a Friday night to paint chickadees. Painting and drawing has been a challenge for me but this place seemed approachable and friendly. Suzy greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Shawn was the teacher and I really got a lot out of the class. The instructions were very clear and the supplies were explained and plentiful. Participants who wanted additional guidance received it and everyone's creative needs for the project seemed to get met. This was a great experience - very affordable and non judge mental approach to painting. I had a lot of fun and learned how to change my approach to painting because of this workshop. My daughter who is a very courageous painter with a lot of experience enjoyed the class and was inspired. I didn't complete my painting - but that's ok! Everyone else in the class did - there's enough time to finish your work I'm just slow...took my painting with me with my leftover paints in a bag Suzy gave me to finish back home. Hope I can make it back there for another workshop or maybe even their daytime offerings. This place is worth checking out!

TIffany Taylor is an extraordinary individual, who not only expounded on her associate artists & writers abilities & offerings at her shop, but gave us a bit of history in her own work & travels. She offers many amazing works of art & in many different styles and content. She also has several authors in the area, which not only have book signings at her shop, but offer signed & unsigned copies of their works as well. Ms. Taylor offers many pleasant surprises in her shop & is always willing to expound on her own works, the history of the area and some of the history of her artists and authors. The gallery is large and brings in lots of natural lighting from the large windows. They were passing out cupcakes and cookies during the art walk, which was a treat.
