I called Tuesday at 11:52am scheduled an appointment for the next day (Wednesday) 11-2. Waited all day only for no one to show or call. I followed up 2:50 and was told that I wasn't scheduled. I was then informed the tech forgot to put my schedule in the system ‍ but they can reschedule me for Friday! I have no refrigerator today that's why I called for the earliest appointment. So disappointed in myself for not looking at the reviews first. read more

I suggest you use any other contractor for appliance repair. Their representative came and diagnosed the problem and said he needed parts and would return. He returned several weeks later and did a partial repair but said the parts were wrong and he would return. He has never returned and numerous phone calls are never returned. If you are forced to use this company PAY THEM NOTHING UNTIL THE WORK IS COMPLETE. I will be filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

DisAbled Appliances So I called them up and set up a Friday since they didn't do the weekend and stayed home from work that day. No show. An hour after their time window I called. "Oh I was just about to call you - the technician's vehicle has broken down and he can't make it out to you today". Yeah, right. How often does that happen ? Some kid calls on the Saturday, but I'm out doing other stuff that I had arranged. Lowest rating on Yelp is 1-star, but wasting one of my precious vacation days is really a 0-star. These jokers have been trouble since the set foot in my house. DON'T USE THESE GUYS UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATE AND THEY HAVE THE PART ON THE TRUCK. SERVICE IS A POLITE TERM FOR WHAT A BULL DOES TO A COW, AND THIS IS THE KIND OF SERVICE THEY PROVIDE. The "tech"listened to my dishwasher when nothing was running and proclaimed the pump was bad and that it would be a minimum of $250 for a new pump. He did not reference any documents, nor was he interested in looking up the diagnostic code flashing in his face. I suggested the pump was fine and that the drain sensor was the real issue, because I had researched the error code. So I put some water in the machine and the pump expelled it, just as it should. Now the "tech" picks up his stuff, writes a work order for a drain sensor and tells me he will call it in on Monday. He indicates this service call will be deducted from the final bill. Silly me, I pay him the house call of $70. He does not call Monday or Tuesday, so I call the shop and the run around ensues. After multiple attempts to get the "tech" on the phone, the manager agrees to refund the visit. Agreeing and writing a check are a galaxy apart, so I continue to chase this elusive $70. In the meantime, I get to write reviews like this, one for each follow up call. read more

I have used Able Appliances several times over the past few years and have been very satisfied! They have done repairs on my air conditioner, refrigerator and oven. Very polite, came either the same day or the next day, arrived when they said they would and fixed my problem quickly! Don't know what else I could ask for! read more

I was very pleased with the work that was done by Able. I called them early Monday morning when my GE oven stopped working and they came out to my house the SAME DAY to fix it! They quickly diagnosed the problem and were able to repair it in less than an hour and my oven worked perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised when I received the total. I called these folks on a Tuesday and was delighted when the gentleman on the other end of the phone told me they could come out that Friday, no problem! He cheerfully took down my information and assured me the repairman would arrive between 10 and 12. I rearranged my entire day so that I could be free. At 12:45 when no repairman had arrived I called to inquire what was happening, and was told that no such appointment for me existed. It had never been scheduled. The girl I spoke to was minimally apologetic and did not offer to schedule someone or try and fit me in. When I tried to email them to report my dissatisfaction the email bounced. I asked them to call before they came out in their six hour window, as I have an old dog with cast on her leg. They assured me they always do. Well, the guy just rang the doorbell, even though there is a large sign with my phone number saying DO NOT RING DOORBELL OR KNOCK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DUE TO RECUPERATING DOG. The guy is here now, reading codes on his phone. Cannot find the code which I gave them over the phone. Charged me $69 and left. Did nothing. read more

Despite the negative reviews I have seen on Yelp for this company, I have had two very positive experiences in the past week. First, we had a dishwasher that wouldn't drain and when I called them I asked for a price range to repair to see if replacement made more sense. When I scheduled a repair appointment, the technician came within the 2 hour time window and started to diagnose the clogged drain right away; took about 45 minutes to test, repair, and clean up for the middle range cost of the estimate I had been given over the phone. Then, the next day, our heat pump outdoor fan stopped working; I called Able Appliances and they sent the repair technicians out and they arrived at the end of the two hour time window I had been given and after they diagnosed the problem on our 9 year old HVAC and I discussed a system replacement with them since I thought next year it would need replacing with a more modern, efficient unit. They quoted me a fair price based on research I had done with other companies and the new system has a 10 year warranty for parts, 1 year for labor. The installer was right on time and was very cheerful and professional for the full-day job the task required. We were very impressed with the results of both experiences. read more
