Brought my little sister here so we could get full ombré sets and pedicures, as she is graduating this week. Staff was very friendly. Location was excellent and the place looked clean and had good reviews online. Staff made good recommendations for treatments we should get. We chose the cucumber pedi, which was a little pricey, but overall seemed like a good treat. Everything seemed to be going well with the pedicures until my toe was cut in two places. A green solution was used to stop the bleeding, but one of said cuts became swollen, red, and sore before we even left the salon. By the time we got home, it was puffy and had pus leaking out of it. Not happy with that. My foot also now has small red bumps all along it where the sanding/shaving tool was used, which makes me question the sanitation significantly. The gentleman(Michael) that did my nails did them while I was getting my pedicure. Not one of my nails has a consistent shape, or even a straight tip. And my cuticles were inconsistently hit with the drimmel, leaving little chunks missing but not a complete clean up of said nail cuticle. I repeatedly asked for corrections, and still they were left like this. I chose a neon yellow ombré and the cuticles are stained yellow from a thin layer of acrylic that I can't get off when washing my hands. One of my nails has a bump at the end, both my thumb nails top coats have nail sanding dust left in them, and the undersides of my nails were left flooded with glue and acrylic. The best thing about the nails is that the ombré itself is very well done. Great color gradient. Overall though, not worth the $400 spent given the literal pain, actual infection, and lack of uniformity in my nails. I give it 2 stars because the pedicure felt very good, it just, unfortunately, has left me with an infection. The staff was honestly very friendly, and due to my little sisters nails coming out lovely, I really, really wanted to like Abilene Nail Bar. read more

I came in for a black to dark nude-ish color (ombré) and I got more of a knock off version of it. The gentleman that first started (Michael) was decent, but when I kept the reference picture up on the table he said "I know" in almost a rude way. I shrugged it off and let him get to work. After he did the initial sanding down, he went over them again and it started to feel like my nail was burning from it and ended up nicking my cuticle on my thumb. Then continued on with the block and sanded them down more and got my cuticle again after he was done with my right hand, another gentleman came by and told him (I'm assuming) he wasn't doing it right and to sand off the black while the second man started on my left hand. My nails came out alright, but definitely off from my reference picture (added to see the difference) On to the price. I'm not one to demand a discount, regardless. But you'd think something would be taken off considered the first man messed up and the second man had to redo them, making the whole process a little longer. The price wasn't outrageous and I, of course, still tipped. I'd come back for more of a basic style because I know ombré can be difficult to achieve with acrylic, but it would've been nice had he not sanded my nails to where I felt like they were burning. read more

She started doing a whole different color not even the same brand (I asked multiple times) and then I wanted an acrylic nail added (said that about 4 times) and they acted like they didn't know how to do that. Went here Monday evening and was able to walk-in without an appointment. Pedi was standard $30 and had lots of choices to choose from plus, the lotion they use SMELLS SO GOOD. Kellon did my full set and she is such a talented sweetheart! Her personality was so cute and fun, I love her! Kim and Ron also did great. I came here for a gel manicure prior to vacation. They were available for walk-ins and sat me right away (I guess the fact that they were not busy should have been a red flag). 1) This was the most painful manicure I have ever received. 3 of my nails bled when a mechanical sander/filer was used. For several days into my vacation my fingers were very sensitive. 2) Polish was not applied to my entire nail. It looked as if they had been growing for a few days already. 3) Within 3 days, I lost 1 nail. Within 7 days, 3 nails. When these nails came off, no adhesive remained on my nails (it was as if they were NOT appropriately attached). My remaining nails would get caught in my hair while washing (likely about to come off d/t the edges peeling up). 4) This trip cost me $10 more than it would have cost me at my go-to salon not far from here. I wouldn't have minded paying this additional cost, had my experience been good. I will not be returning or recommending this location to friends. read more

WORST NAIL SALON EVER. My daughter and I visited Abilene and decided to try this place on August 26th before our Labor Day Beach vacation days later. $300 later for 2 pedicures and 2 full sets, we have a combined 10 missing/broken nails and chipped gel toes only 7 days later... The biggest man there got irritated that he put my nails on crooked and I asked him to fix. He very loudly announced how needy I was but he would go out of his way to accommodate me. Then when I pointed out the tips he used were too big and would not adhere to my nail beds in the centers he exhaled loudly and walked away and disappeared for 10 minutes only to return and finish my nails without fixing them as if he'd never heard me. I have been getting my nails done religiously once a month for 25 years and this is by far my worst experience ever. I WILL NEVER go back. read more

This place is already overpriced, and then when you go to check out they add all sorts of extra costs. You pay for tips, and you also have to pay for them to put them on and cut them. This place has been my go to here in Abilene for a while, but not long ago I got way over charged somehow, usually it's around $70 but it was like $110 when I get the same thing every time. I think it was because they had to extend one nail with a tip, and charged me as if I got all tips on my nails. That really annoyed me, so I decided to try somewhere new. I went a different salon, and they too charged way more than they said, and the lengths were off and the top was bumpy and they fell off easily. I decided to go back to this place, and that one bad experience must have been a fluke bc they did much better this time and I got the normal price. The staff was very nice as usual, they keep it very clean and comfortable inside and the instruments are autoclaved. I also never have to wait when I do walk ins. I would give 5 stars except for that one experience was unfortunate. Their work is always beautiful, the tech REALLY took his time to make sure they were perfect, asking me regularly if I liked them and even asked if he was hurting me when trimming my cuticles (which they never hurt while other salons make me bleed). If you want a super basic manicure where you barely get your nails filed or your cuticles trimmed, then go here. There is no luxury at this nail bar. You will get a quick file/trim, a basic gel polish that is a bit lumpy in appearance, and a small amount of lotion massaged into each hand/arm for maybe 20 seconds each. It was not worth the $40 I paid. I won't ever go back. I felt the quality was sub-par and the nail tables and lamps were dirty and caked with nail powder and ate in bad need of a deep cleaning. She would pull my hands/feet instead of guiding and when she was done she would more like throw my hands/feet away. She also stopped multiple times to look at her phone without apologizing. I get the dip for my nails which last 3 to 4 weeks for me without chipping or lifting. They take their time on pedicures and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommend this place. read more

I hate to criticize a small business, but it's very upsetting to pay high prices for very poor quality and service. I asked for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I picked a color from the samples they brought me but apparently the color I picked was only for dip, and I didn't know that until he just started shaving down my nails for the dipping process so I had to commit to it. The color did not look the same as the sample, and he started dipping into the color without even touching my cuticles or hang nails. The sample color I chose was more like OPI bubble bath, and I ended up with some peachy coral. I couldn't tell the color was off with the first layer so I didn't say anything... I realized it was wrong towards the end. He filed my nails all the way down to the quick... it feels like fire in my nail bed. I had to request that he go back and at least try to cut some hang nails. As for the toes, I'll just let the photo speak for itself... the exfoliation was the worst, my heels feel raw. At this point, I could have saved $83 and painted my nails myself at home. read more

I went here a little over a week and a half ago, and at first I thought everything was good. The salon was well kept, the gentleman who did my nails was friendly and they look pretty good. I even tipped higher than I normally do because I thought the service was good. I was a little upset that they charged me $5 to cut my cuticles while some of my fingers still have cuticles and I was never told that would be a charge (Ive never had that before anywhere), but I blew it off. Here I am a week later and every single nail has already fallen off. I have never had nails fall off in one piece before, especially after a week, and definitely not all of them. Had an awful experience. Booked an appointment at 2:00 pm (called 3 days in advance) got there on time and was sitting there for an hour with no acknowledgement whatsoever. There was at least 3 walk ins that got situated before my friend and I. Then when I got up to go say something someone was immediately sat in my spot. There was only one other person when I walked in, and all the workers were sitting in chairs on their phones. That should have been my first clue. I got a dip on my real nails. This is the second time I have used a dip with glitter...I DO NOT recommend (this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with this establishment). However, I left with EXTREMELY clumpy nails that were not shaped AT ALL (tips, around cuticles, on top). This was the worst nail job I have ever had. Cost was $60. I came to Castle Nails and Spa today and they could not repair them. I had to have the dip removed and a complete new dip applied. They did a fabulous job. read more
