The worst, most expensive shipping service I've ever dealt with. We were forced to use ArcBest after a trade show. Shipping rates are absurd and we clearly marked a box as "fragile" all over, yet it arrived like an accordion and was opened and re-taped. AVOID read more

Very disappointing..... Had a Jacuzzi delivered today. Called a week prior to verify the Jacuzzi would be delivered to the backyard and not dropped in my drive way. After speaking to the representative Rebecca she assured me that this was not an issue and they would deliver to my backyard (very easy walkable access). Well I currently have an 800lbs Jacuzzi sitting in my driveway where they left it!!! The driver came alone with no help nor did he have the proper cart. If this was the case I would have used a different company and planned for this. If you choose to use this company please make sure you get everything in writing! read more

ABF was to deliver a significant freight in cost and value. They gave me a time for delivery then entered another date and time in the system that I had clearly stated I would not be home. Needless to say the delivery didn't occur. Next week they gave me another time for Friday then called four hours early to say they were delivering the package. Only a voice mail left on my phone with no follow up. The day before i had managed the risks and told ABF and the manufacturer that my son was traveling several hours to assemble the item that weekend and said I was counting on the delivery date and time. Although I was assured the package would be delivered, the above second failure to deliver occurred. I won't say miscommunication but outright lying by several ABF reps. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Waited all day the day they said they would deliver. Didn't come or have the courtesy to call.. Terrible customer service. Amazon uses them since they are cheap. I had no choice in the matter read more

All the negative reviews about this horrible Freight company are true. They really are the worst! I had a similar experience to others on this site. They skimp on what they get paid to do and cut corners to save money. They could care less if your item gets delivered or not. Zero customer service to speak of. What I can't for the life of me understand is with all these complaints, why do companies like Amazon continue partnering with them? I filed a formal complaint with Amazon about them and they still continue to use them for delivery. Ridiculous! Steer clear of this awful Freight company if you can. read more

HORRIBLE Customer Service! Debbie at the Avanel,NJ location did nothing but yell at me the whole phone conversation, she called me asking for a contact phone number a week later after my shipment haven't been delivered yet I called her back... all I needed to know is what whats happening with my shipment but her attitude was nasty she acted like I was blaming her for something when all I did was asked what was going on, now I own $150 on storage charges thanks to her incompetence. they just lost my company business. read more

I ordered a machine from Langmuir Systems at a value of $8000. ABF was hired to ship two crates from Texas to Alabama. They lost one of the crates - completely. Keep in mind - these were not small items (230 pounds and 545 pounds) After one day of trying to find it they asked me to contact Langmuir Systems to replace it. This has been a nightmare and ABF has been no help at all. Total incompetence! read more

I was supposed to receive my package Friday (7-24-2020) and today is Monday 7-27-2020 so I called the Hagerstown MD office. I asked the location of my package. The lady I was speaking with was nasty and disrespectful and her language was horrific. She told me that my package was sitting on the floor in the shipping building. I explained to her that I payed for it to be delivered 3 days ago. He exact words were What the hell you you want me to do about it. I said deliver my package she said ain't gonna happen all the trucks are gone for the day. I asked her what she was going to do about the significant shipping coat ( 90 pounds and 12 feet long) she told me it wasn't her problem and then hung up on me. Customer beware this company is horrible. Michael D. read more

No communication. We were supposed to have a trailer delivered and they didn't show. We called them to find out they could drop it off tonight but they didn't have a ramp. How does a company just not show up and not say anything?! When I called and complained they blamed UPack for scheduling...not my problem! Get yourselves together. Awful service. Poorly run. read more

Horrible company; the driver refused to unload the merchandise off his truck. One of guys had to take it off the truck. This moron company doesn't care about someone falling off the truck and suing ABF FREIGHT. The delivery guy had an attitude. the company I ordered supplies from said they paid for them to delivery the items purchased on the curb as previous orders. They get zero stars - I was made to add a star. read more

Shipment has been rescheduled for 3 different delivery dates over nearly 2 weeks. It's a $7000 piece of equipment for my business and every time I call, I get a different answer as to when it will arrive. Was just told that " it may arrive tomorrow but I can't be sure because sometimes they change the trucks on us". I think they literally don't care. read more

Very dishonest company. All about them and could care less about their customers. They invent extra charges to bill their account holders and change their account fees without a days notice, leaving their customers high and dry. BAD ATTITUDE. read more

It's pretty rare that I have such a bad experience with a company that I am compelled to write a review. I purchased a 16,000 dollar pair of VERY RARE speakers that were to be delivered by this company. Everything looked to be going good in the tracking until the day it was supposed to be delivered it says please contact customer care. Right away I knew something was wrong. They tell me they somehow lost my shipment. Keep in mind this is a 600lb pair of speakers. After a couple days of calling numerous times a day and emailing all the people involved I get some good news. They found my shipment and it's to be delivered today. Guy says they will be there in an hour, shows up 2 hours late. Not the biggest deal in the world but wait for it... He opens the trailer and there is, yes you guessed it only ONE speaker. The driver was very nice and apologetic and even helped me get the one speaker into the house which isn't a part of their job description. So I called the company and they just can't find the other part of the shipment. If there is one thing I can say positive, for the most part everyone I talked to about this at the company has been polite. That's for the most part, there were some that basically hung up on me. Keep in mind though even the polite ones weren't any help but to be fair the issue really may not have directly been their fault. Now keep in mind this is a speaker that is the size of a refrigerator. I really for the life of me can't understand how someone can misplace a pallet that's that big. It's been days now and they just can't find it no matter how hard they try. Also, this was the last pair my dealer had so getting a replacement is out of the question. I am begging everyone reading this to please read all the other reviews as well as mine and STAY FAR AWAY from this company. I don't know how they are even still in business. In all my life I have never dealt with a company that was more useless. If I could I'd sue them which I am currently looking into trust me. read more

Never use this company if you have a choice. I had a grill delivered today. The delivery driver came to the door, saw that I was 7 months pregnant and told me he would have to charge me $75 extra to bring the grill onto my property. (Nobody mentioned this when calling to schedule delivery.) He offered to take a tip instead if I didn't want him to bother contacting the company! Freight was already paid...why would I pay extra for something that ANY OTHER SHIPPING COMPANY WOULD AUTOMATICALLY DO? He left the grill on the street (the box weighs over 100 lbs). I was able to slide a couple skateboards under the box to move it to the garage. I am shocked at the company policies and their horrid customer service. read more

We used ABF/ArcBest to move from San Juan California, Ca to Montgomery, Alabama. We had an issue/complication late in the move the ABF acknowledged but said "sorry"...that's it. If you have a perfect (perfect) move you may be alright with ABF/ArcBest but, if like 99% of us, you move has a few curves and zig-zags, this is not the company you want to be with. Absolutely no interest in sustainable customer relations or ensuring satisfaction in the move. Once the check clears, you can be assured of "sorry" ... but nothing else. To be safe, just avoid ABF/ArcBest. Plenty of trucking companies out there - shop around. AVOID!! Tony Jordan. read more

Fast delivery, great customer service! I got a call from an automated abf number confirming my delivery. I was to expect my furniture within another hour, but the driver got here within 10 minutes after that call! The delivery guy used a dolly to bring everything in the house. read more

I used ABF to ship a complete engine from the manufacturer to my home. I told the manufacturer to select the residential shipping instead of commercial so that I could have it delivered to my house. I paid $400 to have it shipped residential(which is enough to ship a whole car equal or less distance). Needless to say the day of my delivery I got a call saying the package would be delivered in the next hour. I left work and waited at home for 3 hours until the truck arrived which to my surprise is a semi and not a box truck. I rattle my brain trying to think of how he expects to get the tractor trailer backed up my driveway but then I think he may have a forklift inside. He did not, only a pallet jack. He was midway through unloading my crate into the road and putting it at the end of my driveway in the rain when I told him to stop. I got my truck and had him unload it in the back so I could get it out of the rain, with no other way to move it. I contacted ABF and was very respectful and understanding until I got this response: ""Because of the size of the crate it could not be shipped via box truck, ups truck, etc. The weight of said crate is too heavy for a single driver to handle and therefor should preferably be shipped from loading dock to loading dock... Even with residential shipping." This would have been fine if communicated on purchase and not offered as "residential shipping" which they give no description or limitation too. They got me good and I won't be receiving any of my money back, don't let them get you. Do not use ABF unless your home has a loading dock or a forklift. read more

ABF Freight - Shipping Centers Near Me - Fort Smith, Arkansas

Very disappointed in ABF. They called my cousin yesterday to schedule a delivery, he told them he was not expecting something and had just recently had something delivered by them. They said they had two separate deliveries for him. He was going out of town but asked if I would be able to come to his house to accept the delivery and I agreed. I took a few hours out of my day today to be home so that I could accept the delivery. When they showed up there was a different name on the delivery and I let them know that. They then checked the box and there was that same different name and a different addresses in Texas. After about 15 minutes of the delivery people speaking with there supervisor they figured out that it was a mistake. I'm very upset that even after we told them we were not expecting something they assured us we had two separate deliveries. Then I wasted two hours of my day so I could be here to accept a delivery that was a mistake on the part of ABF. I called to voice my frustrating to the ABF supervisor and he simply said sorry and gave excuses as to how this could have happened. Point being my time was wasted by the negligence of ABF and they should compensate me for this. read more

I don't believe the bad ratings people have given this company... I have experience with them being 5 employees and drivers... my experience is based on over 20 phone calls, cancelled plans, rescheduling our truck and finally firming the date and the actual move across country... not one dish or piece of furniture was broken or scratched, they were always always polite and courteous, and very helpful every time I had to reschedule... I highly recommend this company... their rates are very reasonable and their people are incredibly hard workers and very helpful... thank you again, ABF!!! read more

Be aware, this is by far the worst company you can have for your move. They are very cheap but they're cheap for a reason. They promised me 5-7 business day shipping, 4 business days late my shipment finally arrived. A vast majority of our furniture was wrecked, come to find out their insurance is garbage (hence why they are so cheap). The customer service line told me everything being shipped was completely covered, not even close. If you rent trick space make sure you utilize the entire trailer or go with a more reliable company. ABF put a large load behind ours in a space that was to small so it broke the bulkhead (and bent two steel poles along with breaking our locks we put on) which in the end resulted in our items being damaged. Once again be aware of this company. They are dirt cheap for a reason and will make endless promises in order to get your business. Then if you have an issue with anything you will be mocked and laughed at by their garbage staff (everyone from a basic customer service rep to their "managers"). To reiterate my complaint and recommendation. This company is horrible, I wouldn't go with them if they were the last company left. Believe all of the bad reviews, they are legitimate. I'm sure any positive review you find is a part of their company trying to revive the reputation. Do not waste your money on ABF!!!!!! read more

Avoid ABF Freight at all costs! ABF was hired by the furniture company from whom I purchased a very heavy piece of furniture. ABF told the furniture company that for $388 they would bring the furniture inside the front door, a mere four steps up from the sidewalk. Instead, ABF sent one person, the driver, who struggled to get the item to the SIDEWALK where he left the furniture. In the SNOW. Totally unacceptable! ABF cut the corners and BARELY delivered this item at all. read more

Dropped off pallet on the 9th Of February. Got a notice that the person had not received they're item on the 21ST!!!! Called up the main number to find it still in Dallas. The idiots in San Antonio misplaced the pallet so did not get it there until the 15th. Then the morons in Dallas misplaced it and was still there when I called on the 21st. The idiots then said it was n a truck going to Denver where it is supposed to be going. Next, I called and it was in Amarillo T??? (WTF) The pallet was supposed to be delivered there by the 14th per there time frame, not mine. Then they had the nerve to say it was the weather when the office I called even said it was misplaced!!! (Twice now). What a pathetic delivery company. Will NEVER use them again read more

I would like to say today I had the pleasure of meeting an ABF Freight employee by the name of Mr. Troy Dixon. He was AMAZING. The worst shipping company ever. Customer service is non existent. My shipment was picked up July 24 and delivery expect Aug 6th. They farmed delivery to another company. I have use this company to deliver to construction sites 5 times. Every time the job has been botched in some way.
