Some interesting food choices at this little takeout only grill inside a Citgo service station next…read moreto Rose's Deli on University. I recently stopped at the station to fill up, and when I went inside I immediately notice the small grill area, with a cafeteria/steam table setup. They offer a limited number of entree items (plates or just the meats) including: Fried Chicken (1/4 with a Potato Wedges for $4.99), Fried Flounder (plate with 2 pieces of fish & Wedges for $5.99), Fried Chicken Liver (a small order, no side, $2.49), Fried Chicken Gizzards, Chicken BBQ, Buffalo Wings, Fried Chicken Drumettes, and even Corn Dogs. There is little offered here that even remotely approaches dietic - most meats are fried (and well fried), the only sides are Wedged Potatoes (yean, fried), and Mac & Cheese - no salads, or greens, or such. The Fried Chicken was excellent - well fried, well-seasoned. The Fried Flounder was no different. The small order of excellent Fried Chicken Livers was huge - a total bargain. The portion for the Wedged Potatoes is also large, and they are very, very good. If you want a tasty, inexpensive, takeout lunch, and calories are not a concern - this is a place you should consider. The fried food is very, very good, the prices are great, and the folks here are nice.

I normally pay at the pump with credit, but the times I've gone inside to pay with cash I've enjoyed the clerks. Smiling and joking around is cool for me. I would much rather someone strike up a conversation than act like a robot. I've never had the food from their little grill thingy, but I see people eating from it all the time. Looks mostly like fried food, which I try to stay away from. And gas station food in general. Sorry I'm not sorry.

There were very few parking spaces available for me this morning but I found one. Inside, the restroom was in very good shape. Clean and stocked, after washing my hands it was an easy choice to hit the green button to indicate that I was satisfied with the state of the restroom. The rest of the store was also in great shape. Coffee station was clean and stocked. I decided to grab a second coffee here and it was fabulous. Ground and brewed to order, I added my creamers and paid for it, scanning my Love's app to continue earning towards that free cup. Overall, a positive experience. Just do something about the parking. I have a Sheetz card, and for years I have used that with a loyalty card to get a slightly better price on gas. Now I've reached the point where the gas savings just isn't worth it and I may just drop the Sheetz card and begin getting gas elsewhere. The last 4-6 times I've pumped gas here, I have been accosted -at the pump- by people asking for free stuff (gas, money, etc). The last time this happened I was verbally abused because I refused. This location has always been dirty, which is a little understandable due to the number of customers. But what drew me to Sheetz in the first place was the cleanliness and modern offerings. If you go to some other Sheetz locations, they are nice, clean, and have everything a traveler would need. Maybe it's just me, but as a business owner, I would take some of those profits and make sure the business reputation is intact. This location is a dump, and as a customer, you also get the benefit of being berated by panhandlers and scammers. What's the upside of customers suffering through this experience? A few cents off of a gallon of gas? Doesn't seem worth it.
