In photographs I typically have either RBF or a double chin because I'm usually laughing. I also cringe at the standard posed wedding photography and knew right off the bat that it would be a mission to find a wedding photographer that would be up for the challenge. So if you're like me, you may dread the thought of choosing a wedding photographer. It was by chance that I came across CMP's photographs while browsing on Pinterest. They immediately caught my eye; they were editorial, intimate and full of personality. Bottom line - stunning. Fortunately CMP had one photographer available for our date -- Danny. We lucked out because he is not only extremely talented in his craft, but also a total gem of a person. The photographs from our engagement shoot (WHICH COMES WITH YOUR PACKAGE AND IS AN AMAZING BENEFIT OF CMP'S SERVICES) made it immediately clear that Danny has a superb eye and was able to capture our personality as a couple. I've been non-stop spamming friends and family with our wedding photographs since we've received them; and which Danny delivered in record time. I'm in complete awe of how Danny was able to capture the vibe of our wedding in such a natural way. It goes without saying that wedding photographs aren't just for the couple, but also for the friends and family. Leading up to the wedding, she was incredibly responsive over email and did a really great job of not only helping us to structure the timeline for our day to minimize stress and scrambling, but also rolling with the punches if we had any questions or last minute changes in our plans. The day of the wedding, Adena and her second photographer Laura did a fantastic job of keeping everything running smoothly and on schedule. From the getting ready pictures to the couple and wedding party pictures to the family portraits, Adena did a great job of corralling so many people to efficiently get the shot. I just felt like I was in really good hands the entire time, especially given that the weather forecast introduced some unpredictability to the day. Despite that, Adena always had a plan and had an amazing eye for getting some incredible shots - sometimes planned and sometimes impromptu. Her candid shots were also everything; they really captured the energy of the party and so many of them bring a smile to my face that I know I'm going to have a bear of a time picking which ones to put in a photo album - it might just be all of them. To make a very long story short, Adena's communication, professionalism, and flexibility made it easy for me to trust her with photographing our wedding and that took so much potential stress out of the equation. Unfortunately, this is not all that a business professional is rated on. I kind of thought from the beginning that Erica was a bit unprofessional. I tried to put that out of my mind because she was very cost effective and her photos were stunning. Every contact I had with her, it just seemed like she didn't have her stuff together. Our engagement session was pretty good. Not many complaints about that. The real problems started at the wedding. While me and my bridesmaids were getting ready, she asked my maid of honor when she was due. My MOH is not pregnant. Everyone (women especially!!) should know that you NEVER EVER EVER ask a woman if she is pregnant. She almost made my MOH cry. the last thing I needed on this stressful day was to comfort my MOH. I wish it had ended there. I tried to defend Erica sayin "Maybe you misheard her" but later in the day another friend who was there reiterated what was said, and there was no misunderstanding. We went outside to take pictures in the vineyards and it was extremely hot (for late october) and uncomfortable. We wanted to get these pictures over ASAP. We were also being swarmed by bees and two of our wedding party attendants are extremely allergic. We kept telling Erica that we wanted to move and she kept insisting we stay where we are because the pics were coming out great. We appreciate the great pictures but a bridesmaid in the hospital would've made for a bad day. After about 30-40 minutes of pictures my feet (i hate heels so much that I actually walked down the aisle barefoot) were absolutely screaming and I was getting very cranky. My makeup was running and my dress weighed 50 million pounds and I just wanted to take a break before the ceremony. Erica literally whined saying that she wanted to go take pictures in the wine caves. When I said "no, i really need to take a break" she practically stomped her feet and pouted saying "Oh come onnnnn, lets go take pictures in the wine caves!!" My husbands groomsman stepped in and said "no, when the bride says we're done, we're done." She backed off on the wine caves point, but continued to try to get more pictures. Later in the evening she came up to me whining because the Wedding coordinator said that vendors (photorapher, dj, etc.) usually ate after the wedding guests finished and she wanted to eat "NOW" and I needed to go tell the wedding coordinator that. It isn't so much her complaint that bothers me (it was a valid complaint), but I was the WRONG person to come to. There were 3 bridesmaids and a mother of the groom she could have discussed it with instead. The rest of the issues of the night didn't become apparent to me until months later. My boss told me that he was standing next to Erica while she was taking pictures of the grandmas and Erica turned to him and said "Gotta get the pictures of the grandmas! Who knows when they'll kick off" ...Seriously. My boss is one of the most honest people I've ever known in my life and he wouldn't lie about that. In the weeks leading up to me getting my photos erica e-mailed me to say that they were almost done and I can mail my final check to her address. I had paid her in full on the day of the wedding per her demands! If I had known I could've waited till I got my pictures I would've done that. Then she sent another mass e-mail to me and a bunch of other brides called "THE LAST CHECK" saying "I hope you liked your photos. Please send your next check to X" To which I responded AGAIN, I already paid you! Once I finally received my pictures, I asked her how she would handle my book. If she was going to choose the photos, if I was going to choose them, etc. And she said "Please choose 60 photos, put them on a disc, mail them back along with your final check" I PAID MY EFFING BILL ALREADY!! And no, I'm not gonna make another damn CD and mail it back to you and wait another 3 months for an apple iphoto book. I'll do it myself. I also realized while searching through my photos that no pictures were captured of my husband when he first saw me coming down the aisle. Very depressing. Technically I paid for a Trash the dress session (which she does fabulously) and the apple iphoto book but I am just done. I have 3 friends getting married in the near future and they all asked me for a recommendation of a good photographer. I have told them all that I really wish I could have recommended mine, but the unprofessionalism just isn't worth the hassle. It's such a shame because her photos are absolutely out of this world (that is what the 2 stars are for) Erica really needs to work on her professionalism. You can be friendly and cool and professional at the same time.

One thing I will not appreciate is her lack of professionalism. I heard about Erica from a client who had really amazing shots from her wedding. My client told me what she had paid for her to shoot her wedding which made my mouth drop because it was perfect for someone who is on a tight budget. I contacted her through email sometime in August 2007 in regards to her services. I also had found a craiglist ad that she had posted to shoot weddings at a starting price of $600. GREAT PRICE... When I emailed her in regards to it and let her know my date she told me it was booked already and that the price posted in her ad was for 2007 prices and that it would double for 2008. FINE $1200 for a photographer I would willingly pay at least $3000 for her work. NOT A PROBLEM. A week or two later I got a message on my voice mail stating that she wasn't booked until she was paid. "HMMMM....*red flag* kinda weird." I called her or emailed her back and ask her about a deposit half up front to book the date and half after the date or a week prior. Which is the usual contractual agreements with all photographers. I thought it was fair enough. Well 2008 rolls around and here I am starting to really plan for my wedding this June. I contacted her right before the end of the year and she had mentioned that the date wasn't booked yet and that we could set up a consult. We set up a consultation date and a week prior to the date she's booked on my day of the wedding. I was truly disappointed because I would've loved her to shoot at the wedding. She seems like a cool chick and I love being able to help out people who are starting in their industry and career of choice. At the same time, I felt really shitted on. When you schedule a consult with a new client at least mention that you have a possibility that the date may be potentially booked prior. I understand its first come first serve, but let someone know that you might be booked already and don't even bother to set up a consult with a client for the same date.

My husband and I drove by this place one day about 6 months before our wedding ready to book our photographer. Looking around the studio we saw these gorgeous, very original poses, great lighting and color effects. My husband and I immediately fell in love with the work. We meet Demetrius the main photographer. He asked us a lot of questions about our plans for the wedding, what we were looking for? what place we picked for reception? etc. We felt comfortable with them so we started asking for prices. Now Demetrius having an idea of what we were looking for he said he will discuss it with his wife Jessica over dinner and will call us first thing in the morning with the price. Well he called us, gave us what I thought was a good deal for the 6 hours of work and the package that he presented. When the time came where we were to have our first session with him for our engagement pictures, he showed up about 15 minutes late which was not a big deal except that he stressed the fact that we should be there sharp. Not big deal, what started to be an annoying red flag was when he jokingly kept naming us by the wrong names. Whether is a humorous ice breakers or he honestly did not remember our names, we couldn't tell. It was fun at first while taking pictures but when I called for a second, third time he will still call us by wrong names. I started to get the feeling he is the type of person that he forgets or do the wrong things and then tries to cover them up with humor and jokes. At this point so close to the wedding we decided to still use them and even inquired about also having a video. He said he would ask a videographer and see if he was available for our wedding day and record the important parts of the wedding. Great! We said that's all we need, we hired the videographer. The wedding day went smoothly, photographers and videographer were on time. About a month and a half I called up to find when our pictures would be ready. Demetrius picked up the phone and he sounded miserable he flip out on me about how busy they had been and how sandy storm had slowed things down for them, the tone of his voice almost said to me: How dare you call us now to ask us about your pictures? I was surprised by his attitude to say the least, he must have had a bad day I thought. So I said, no problem, I understand just please give us a call when pictures are ready. That was the end of it. I discussed this with my husband and left them alone for a while out of consideration.A few weeks later we were contacted by Jessica that the pictures were up on their site to look. Great! Excited for our pictures we pick them up. Our disappointment was that they were very basic pictures, nothing said this picture is different than the rest or more exciting than the rest, the lighting, poses, random pictures on the whole book were very basic and monotonous. Sad thing is not only did we immediately notice but our families did as well. It is obvious. Any of our guest would have taken the same pictures with their cameras. This was nothing like what they had shown to us when we first walked in to their studio. The video was the worst part of the service, it was badly recorded by an amateur. The focus of the video is horrible, lighting is bad, parts of the ceremony were in such closed up mode you can only see a persons face in it, not what is around them. Not only does the quality of the video sucks but some of the important things that happened at the wedding were not recorded or were badly recorded like cutting off parts and such. Initially, The video also had the wrong year of the wedding, when my husband called to find out if they could fix it, Demetrius the jokester said: "well I guess that means you will have to get married again this year haha. Bring it back. I will get back to you when its ready I have to get a colonoscopy tomorrow". Now that's the last thing we needed to hear. He fixed the date but gave us a damaged cd back with damage footage options. I was fuming at this point not only because of the damaged cd, but for his unprofessionalism and his jokester ways to cover his mess up. So I personally called him, told him what was wrong with the cd, and lets just say I did not sound happy at all. Only after that magic phone call he did put thought into it and fixed it. At this point in time my only conclusion is that he does a great job when the couple's budget calls for it and he decides the budget himself based on the initial answers of questions such as where is the reception going to be? where is the church? He decides the price based on those answers and then treat you and your wedding as such. So if you go with this guy, better have that wedding at the Venetian or somewhere in NY to be taken seriously and have those really cool unique pictures on your album.

On the day of our wedding they were pretty much with us from start to finish! They had a preview of our pics up 4 days after the wedding and my mind was blown! They captured so many beautiful moments. They even went above and beyond and created a slideshow for us using our first dance song. it was perfect!
