Today Mike from Abel Garage Door kept our appointment to realign my 26 year garage door. He arrived on time, calling me the day before and 30 minutes before his appointment time to confirm our appointment. He was friendly, professional and quick in his work. Before I knew it, my garage door was not only aligned, but lubed and checked for any wear. Mike readjusted the torsion springs, which needed a little more tension after 6+ years. He pointed out areas that I should keep an eye on for wear or future replacement. After all, this two car garage door is over 26 years old. My spring broke on my garage door so I called Greg. After making an appointment with me he showed up on time, did a thorough inspection of my garage door, did some adjustments to the door and track and replaced the broken spring with a new heavy duty spring with a 4 year written warranty. Out of town for work and my wife calls me...The garage fell off of the track. What? I asked her a bunch of questions as to what happened, was it our 5yr old messing with the button etc...After seeing a few pictures she sent I knew it was way past my skill level. I called Abel Garage Door Co. and received excellent service. Greg answered and talked me through some options and troubleshot with me over the phone, he was on a call and had another after that. I asked him if he could fit me in if at all possible tonight as my wife was home with our young children and the door was hanging there for anyone to walk in to the garage. He was hesitant to say yes as I could tell he had no idea what all was wrong. I said even if you can look at it and let me know what it will take and move on that would be great. He showed up within 30 minutes and was able to get my garage door re-hung, new cables installed and all of the track back in order. I paid just under $300 but we have a list of parts a page long. He also explained the door is to heavy for the track and asked if we had ever had problems with the door. We moved to this house a year ago and had a few problems with a roller coming off of the track but never this much damage. All in all it was a great experience with a professional technician. My moms garage door opener broke and she called to have him fix it. He was very busy but was able to come the next day. He wasnt able to fix it so he needed to install a new one. It wasnt just a garage opener. It was one with many bells and whistles. Extra quiet, wifi, contractors model which was a model she didnt need. I asked her if he showed her other models to choose from and she said he didnt. It was just a replacement for the broken one. Quiet could be nice but for a 79 yr old who doesnt use the internet or smart phones, ring or Alexa, I feel he could have worked with her a little better. I realize he is busy and trying to make a living, but do you really need to sell a senior citizen a more sophisticated system than is needed? She specifically used his business again and wouldnt call anyone else to give him her customer loyalty. If it wasnt so expensive I wouldnt bring this up but I've read so many good reviews that I couldnt believe it went from a repair call to replacement totaling $637.00. His website says they have several models to choose from so why did he decide she needed this model? He could have asked if she used the internet or has a smart phone to program this. Business is business but I hope you think about it a little more if a senior is is need of a replacement door opener. read more

Greg Files has been servicing my garage door for the past five years since I moved to Morgan Creek. Our contractor was noted for cutting corners to save a nickel, but Greg has been able to make quality repairs, install new Lift Master opener, realign rails, and today in an emergency come out at the end of the day and install new springs replacing the cheap one that snapped almost destroying the door as it came crashing down. He installed dual springs so we will never have to worry again about a door potentially crashing down on a child or pet. Great service, quality materials, safety first, integrity and a very competitive price. Only negative is Greg is a Giants fan to the bone :) I'm glad I don't need his service often but when I do I can count on Greg and his team to do it right. read more

The first time, Greg came out to do some routine work on the springs of my very old tilt up garage door and said I had about six months before I'd have problems. Very professional, walked through exactly what he did, and you could tell he cared about the craft. True to his estimate, six months later, the springs on the door failed. As one of the top rated companies on Angie's List, going back to these guys was a no-brainer. Again, not disappointed. Loren came out twice, the first time for an estimate that was far less than I thought it was going to be, and actually suggested a different cost-saving type of door. You could tell he cares about the craft and his customers. He's a second generation garage door installer who takes pride in his work and doing it right, even if it takes longer. Overpriced! They had to come back and fix the door a second time. Had they done the 18 point check like he boasts - he wouldn't need to go out a second time . The service was under a 30 day warranty- but he still charged me over $100. He said garage door sensors cost $50- I saw the same part at home depot for $20... And when he was in my garage he mentioned he even added a 6-pnt inspection- guess he forgot about the other 12. Definately do not recommend this provider. Craig called to confirm appointment, was right on time, gave me different options for repair and service of my garage doors. He explained what the problems were and what he was doing to correct them. first i called and gave Greg the info on the Door and where it was at (commercial area) building and they gave me an estimate over the phone for 169.00 to 195.00 dollars, then they came out and said estimate was wrong, its a commercial door (already had told the springs) and said it would be 400.00 Dollars to order them or his Friend can make them on the weekend and it will be 480.00 dollars.. SCAM !!!! read more
