This experience was really good and took the stress out of a stressful process. Besides not charging me a dime to ship or insure my ring, I was very pleased with my customer service experience. I received a quote from them for my ring in an email and the word "null" was written immediately after the price they quoted me. This was weird. What did "null" mean? Different quotes from different people, some incorrect assumptions made about the coins without verification, and there was no mention of the 18K gold circles around each coin and what those might be worth. Easy and stress-free experience for selling diamonds. Continuing on living with less materials and more with intentions...I was trying to find a new home for one of my jewelries (keeping them creates more liability and worries than joy). After researching various alternatives to selling a high grade diamond I'd been holding onto in person and online...I found Abe Mor to be not only the most price competitive...but also the most open, polite and honest in communications. All other were super were super lowballs. A local jewelry buyer store in ABQ offered me 50%, Worthy.com offered 55% (also will take a few months before they can actually execute the trade!) and another online wholesaler offered 70% of Abe Mor's offer. Abe Mor came closest and most realistic to what I would expect based on my research of what my diamond would go for (I realized it was hard to get the price of what one originally paid for for a used diamond because of the "used" condition and simply there a huge upsell in retail price when it was originally bought. Thus, you usually get much less/devalued amount from selling to a wholesaler/retailer anyways!). The process of selling a diamond to Abe Mor may seem nervewrecking for anyone especially online that involved shipping an item of high value via FedEx to a store in NYC...but Abe Mor (my correspondences were with Elliot) was really prompt and communicative throughout the whole processes (starting with giving them your item's spec/paperwork, getting an informal offer quote back, confirming potential sales/understanding next steps, getting an insured overnight shipping materials/packages shipped to your address and receiving confirmation of final price, agreeing to sell an item...and finally receiving a check!). Surprisingly, the whole process took just 1 week from start to finish! I also did a bit of research before selling...and knowing that they had good reviews, were not sleazy with extreme lowballs like other buyers and had good reputations helped calm my mind a bit. Overall, my experience selling a diamond with Abe Mor was a smooth, prompt and fair process...all done online without any meetings in person! It took just 24 hours of them receiving my item to getting a final offer/price confirmation...and a check was mailed/delivered to me overnight after my confirmation to sell an item. They weren't pushy at any steps of the process either and were ok with my walking away (and shipping my item back to me securely) if I chose not to sell it to them. Their reply was short, to-the-point, and simple, which was appreciated - but it had a few off-putting vibes. First, they got my name wrong; I'm Anna, not Anne. Second, they offered no apology for their delay in response. The final kicker was their note on being overstocked on my 'item.' I'd offered to sell them three items of different styles. The way they phrased it combined with the misspelled name and reply delay made me feel like they hadn't been paying any actual attention. I reached out to Abe Mor December, 2016 via michael@diamonds.pro (also helpful!). I know it sounds dramatic, but that was a life-changing referral. It's a too-common story I know now. I had a Kay Jeweler Leo diamond that I wanted to sell. (I had purchased it for over $7,000 for an ex-girlfriend, and wanted nothing to do with it anymore.) Eric Mor told me what I should and shouldn't expect through email AND phone, and took a lot of time and care with me. I live in Boston. He suggested I not sell it to him, but instead find a high-end reputable jeweler here(?!). He also offered to be available later should I wish. I was initially pretty impressed, though simultaneously felt skeptical about everyone at that point. From the very modest amount of research I had done by the time I spoke to Eric, I just didn't know who to trust or not, except not to trust Kay. Still, something in Eric's voice and manner told me he just might be the "real deal". It didn't take me too long to reach out again. I worked directly with David Christ. Upon receiving my diamond via their one-day FedEx, they were unable to buy it for the "sight unseen estimate" they had offered because it was a far inferior diamond than expected. Because it was the worst Leo Diamond that David, a Leo expert, had ever seen, I became determined that Kay refund my purchase price (over 2 years after I bought it!). For reasons I will never ever understand, David and I then proceeded to exchange close to 200 emails over the next 1 1/2 months. SERIOUSLY. They had NOTHING TO GAIN HERE. I DID NOT DEVIATE FOR A MOMENT FROM MY GOAL of having every cent returned to me from Kay (and I am very determined). The emails were my "picking David's brain" to obtain, bit by bit, all the information I needed to make the best argument to Kay to obtain my refund, my ONLY goal! I kept wondering, "WHY were they spending all this time with me; why was David continually getting back to me so promptly; what on earth could be their motivation." I didn't ask, I didn't want to interrupt the information flow I NEEDED to accomplish my pursuit. I'd do research and ask for David's opinion. I'd ask about everything I could imagine that could be an angle. I BELIEVED I was in the right and I wasn't giving up and for some reason neither did he give up on answering my ENDLESS questions. I kept wondering to myself, "Gee shouldn't he be doing something instead to bring in MONEY?" Kay sent me for an appraisal, but that was a foregone conclusion. I looked into getting another one elsewhere, but ultimately sent it to GIA, THE authority. Abe Mor offered to remove the diamond from its setting free of charge(?!). I gratefully accepted. There was something that did cost $15 for which I wasn't charged, and when I inquired David said I just needed to pay the bill I received. I'll explain in a moment. Before the diamond was sent to the lab (through Abe Mor, which saved me a LOT of money) Eric made a proposal: I could sell the diamond to them according to (quite FAIR!) pricing depending on whether GIA determined it was an I or J color (a K would mean a strong argument for me against Kay as my certificate said an I) and they'd pay for both shipping and the GIA lab fee of $105. If it were a K of course shipping and GIA's fee would be my responsibility ($149). I don't believe anyone at Abe Mor thought I had a good shot at getting my purchase price refunded unless the diamond was determined by GIA to be a K. For me, frankly, I just kept hoping beyond hope... Well, the diamond was a J, BUT it had only FAIR symmetry. I prepared my argument like I was going to the Supreme Court, obviously with more David coaching. He even sent me a link from the Leo diamond website to use! To Kay's credit, they determined that I had at least a couple of reasons for legitimate concern, and refunded me the $7,206.23 I paid,+ $149: Uphill mission ACCOMPLISHED!!!!! One can NEVER GIVE UP. I will always feel moved by what they did for me. The outcome most assuredly could NOT have occurred without their unsurpassed assistance and attention. There was no return for them to make from those many, MANY hours spent with me. I'd have to had sold them or bought a HANDFUL of diamonds for them to have monetarily benefitted. Abe Mor REALLY CARES ABOUT people who seek their help, and the DIAMOND BUSINESS, and THEIR INTEGRITY, and THEIR FAMILY BUSINESS NAME. This is why this was a "life-changing experience", as I said at outset. Experiences like these simply make it, "Feel great to be alive!" In the Jewish faith, the number 18 is a symbol for celebrating LIFE, and sending a gift in a denomination of 18 is very spiritually meaningful. Being Jewish, I sent them $180 as a mere token of my appreciation for their generosity of spirit. And what did they do? They donated it to the charity of my choice. I was very disappointed with my interaction with Abe Mor. I submitted my ring photos and appraisal on 7/23/2019. On 7/25/2019 Elliot responded with an estimated offer. On 7/29/2019 Michael Schaffer sent an email saying "We are very interested in purchasing your diamond. Please call me if you have any questions." I responded on 7/30/2019 with questions about the offer considering I have not done this type of business before and the appraisal was significantly higher then the offer. Michael showed terrible customer service and basically was like we could not go any higher on your offer goodbye. At that point I was shocked but decided to reach back out to Elliot who I received the original correspondence from. I received a FEDEX label and sent the ring off for further inspection by the Abe Mor geologist. On 8/6/2019 Michael from Abe Mor called to say they were not interested in purchasing my ring because of an abundance of inventory. So from 7/29/2019 to 8/6/2019 they went from very interested to having an abundance of inventory. I truly believe Michael made the decision to not buy my ring because he did not like my questions or request for more money. They were a complete waste of time and for those looking to sell your ring, I would suggest doing your research! There are plenty of places out their and you can find way better customer service. If i approved...I can keep it...otherwise, i would have returned it. Anyways, Eric was able to get me the diamond i wanted at a slightly better price than online and local dealers.
