Today I went in looking for flat stones for an art project for my grandchildren. Not only did Anthony Albanese/owner accommodate me, he had one of his workers use the forklift to take down a huge container of rocks and let me pick my choice! I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews because my wife and I had a truly wonderful…read moreexperience with Lumber Liquidators in Freeport. Perhaps it was because Floyd (Store Manager) helped us and was an absolute delight to work with, but even another employee who helped us when we picked up the flooring (unfortunately cannot remember his name) was fantastic as well. One of the things I appreciate about this store is its simplicity. In looking for new flooring for our basement, my wife and I visited 5 flooring stores across Long Island. Lumber Liquidators offers the most competitive prices we could find given the quality of the material. We're not talking Gatsby mansion flooring, but if like us you were just looking for quality vinyl for your basement, this place really does the trick. Selection here is modest compared to some warehouse giants like Floors & Decor, but we found exactly what we needed and the price was at least 10% cheaper than we found at Floors & Decor. Better yet, the flooring we wanted was immediately available. We mentioned we weren't going to be buying the foam (for underneath the vinyl) at the store because we found a better price elsewhere, and there was no sales pitch or hesitation. Floyd simply took it off the list. Likewise, there were no hidden fees or no nickel-and-diming. There was an added cost to have the flooring shipped, but we knew we would be able to pick up and drive it home ourselves. Communication with the employees from start to finish was refreshingly positive. Sure enough, pickup was a breeze. We called ahead to let them know we'd be stopping by later that day (they just need an hour's notice to prep, which they told us in advance). When we stopped by, we waited maybe 3 minutes and then had an employee move all the flooring into our car for us. We then drove it home, acclimated the floor to the basement, and our basement contractor installed it beautifully for us. We are in love with the results and saved money in the process! I can't see why we wouldn't return here whether for vinyl or quality hardwood flooring. The price, quality, and service really impressed me for a place that otherwise has a 2.5-star average rating. Even if you decide to get your flooring someplace else, it's worth taking a look here first.
