World Wide Granite & Marble - Installation day!

    World Wide Granite & Marble

We are super frugal so we shopped around town. In the end we went with World Wide and we are so glad we did. Here are the reasons why we liked working with them: 1. They have a lovely inventory; 2. They were willing to help us find us something we really liked in our price range; 3. They are family-owned so they really care about getting to know their customers and making sure they are happy; 4. They were FAST and flexible with their install schedule; 5. We checked out Jerry's and Home Depot because they have a lot of inexpensive countertop choices, but their wait time for measurement and installation was 2 months. With World Wide they came and measured as soon as our new cabinets were in, so we didn't have to wait weeks to use our brand new kitchen. After doing a renovation we were ready to have our kitchen functional again. I like that World Wide didn't make us wait. 6. Their countertop measurements were perfect even though we had a really tricky stainless steel apron-front drop-in sink. World Wide Granite and Marble is a great local business and we will use them again when we do work on our bathrooms. I highly recommend them. I read someone else's negative review on here but I sincerely cannot think of a single negative thing about our experience with this company. We are VERY HAPPY with our beautiful countertops!! I'm including some pictures of the installation process. I will update photos when we get our backsplash installed so you can see the final, finished product.

The salesperson was with another customer, which is great for the business, but even though I was in the building for over half an hour, NO ONE greeted me in any way. I understand and respect they had another customer, but a quick acknowledgment of my presence would have gone a long way. I left the building and purchased my countertops from a different business.

Beware of nickel and dime, and bait and switch practices…read more Make sure your showroom selection is actually in stock or they promise arrival on a given date. Lumber Liquidators has VERY LITTLE flooring materials in stock. If Lumber Liquidators can't guarantee a delivery date, or if they continue with subtle suggestions to switch to another cheaper quality product and they claim "we can most likely get this in a couple weeks" when the product you wanted is much higher quality, and currently on sale...that should be a huge red flag. Consider the following: I asked the salesman for an installation price. He told me $3.69 per square foot which I thought is a good deal since other local contractors had quoted me $4.00 per square foot. So I paid a $25 estimate fee which I normally don't do because honestly...that should be part of any contractors cost of doing business. Sure, it's refundable if you use that contractor...win win for them. Lumber Liquidators does install for 3.69 per square foot. But they add in all kinds of EXTRA FLUFF in their itemized estimate that any other contractor would simply include in their bottom line. For a wood floor this included: 1. saw blade 37.99 2. floor care maintenance kit 34.99 3. seam tape 41.93 4. self leveling cement 29.99 5. Adhesive 77.87 5. L-cleats) 94.95 I guess, According to Lumber Liquidators, after paying the $25 estimate fee, you also need to start buying tools for their contractors such as a 10-inch Dewalt Combo Pack saw blade listed on my estimate. LOL When adding in all these extras, the install price was $4.00 per square foot, just like everyone else in town. Don't forget delivery. Lumber Liquidators will deliver. In my case it would have been $375 for 2 pick-up loads of flooring. This is just another nickle and dime strategy to make up for the so-called "low prices." If you install yourself. If Lumber Liquidators has what you want in stock or promise a date it will arrive. If you have a big truck or trailer. If no other wholesaler or even Jerrys has a better price...by all means buy from Lumber Liquidators.

What was supposed to be a three day job has turned into a 10 month ordeal. Our installer, provided by LL Flooring, arrived and tore out the old floor. He then called the next day to tell us he couldn't come to finish the installation because his truck needed to have the distributor replaced. We offered to come and pull his trailer with our vehicle but he said he wasn't comfortable with that. We offered for him to use our tools, which we had everything he needed, but he was not comfortable with that either. His return to finish the job turned into weeks. We had a New Years Eve party planned that we had to have with the floor all ripped up. When the installer finally arrived to finish the job he smelled so bad we couldn't be in the same room with him. We sat upstairs while he worked. At one point we heard something hitting the walls and appliances. We went down to find that his air compressor hose kept flying off the compressor. In the process our walls, cabinets and refrigerator door were gauged. We have sent pictures of the damage to LL Flooring customer service. Besides the damage done to our kitchen the flooring job was done so poorly major portions of the floor required ripping up and replacing. The installer also did no clean up of the work space in the garage, we did all the clean up. He also left glue all over the flooring planks. Every time we spoke with customer service about this job they were of very little help. They spent more time telling us what they could not do rather how the problems could be remedied. After multiple calls and emails ten months later the flooring mess has been fixed. The refrigerator door with the gouge we were told they would figure out how to deal with that damage. That was 9 months ago. Now they just keep putting us off.

We met up with a sales rep who was very knowledgeable on the brands and their features. Tanner showed us a few different models in our price range and gave us some good insight. We came back after a couple days and had decided on what make and model we wanted. Fortunately Tanner was on duty that day as well and really helped us out with the shipping and delivery options. We opted for the complete setup and installation along with removal of the old. Luck was still on our side as it turned out there was an opening for delivery the next day, so we took it. We were scheduled for a delivery time between 10-2. We received text alerts for time reminders. Another alert showing the delivery tracking, then we even received a call from the delivery team letting us know they were 15 minutes out and on their way. Talk about competent! ...a stream of communication and very timely activities, our new unit showed up at 11am. I had cleared a travel path through the house for the delivery guys (I never got their names) and the first thing they did was remove the front door and take out the old unit. These guys were so smooth and professional that I was shocked. They just went about their business, no wasted time or movements, just disconnected the plumbing for the ice maker, then used an interesting shoulder dolly strap so they could carry it instead of stumbling around with a wheeled dolly. Never even so much as bumped a wall. Once outside they loaded the old one and unpacked the new one. They cleaned up after themselves, no garbage laying around. Next thing I know the front door is rehung and still works perfectly. These guys were polite and professional every step of the way. They walked in the new one, stripped off the protective sheets, installed handles, connected plumbing...... And then it happened..... I never measured the hole where it was going. Ugh. It was so close. I cannot overstate how important it is to measure before you buy.. I should know better.. miraculously we made it fit. This was such a snug fit that I had to remove some baseboards to make it fit. This fit is so tight that for all I know, the fridge might not even be touching the ground. Man that was close.. The whole process though, other than MY mistake was very painless and actually pleasant. The drivers managed to negotiate their truck on my limited turn around area. Everyone I dealt with was positive and upbeat. Delivery and install didn't take long at all and they got rid of the old one for me at less money than the recycling center wanted. My new Frigidaire is working perfectly and I couldn't be more pleased with how the whole event turned out! - just be sure to measure... This is the 5th appliance I have purchased from Lowes. -This refrigerator, a dishwasher, clothes washer, oven and a water heater. Good service keeps us coming back.
