As soon as I walked in, I felt like a kid in a candy store. The 7-Elevens in Hawaii are just on another level compared to the mainland. There were so many snacks you don't usually see like dim sum items, musubi, Japanese sandwiches, and Li Hing powder, just to name a few. I picked up a few dim sum items like siomai, char siu bao, and a Chinese sausage bun. For convenience store food, they were actually pretty decent. I also tried their mochi donut, but that was a letdown. It tasted stale and just wasn't good. I also grabbed some snacks to bring home, including mochi balls, dried cuttlefish, and Li Hing powder. The dried cuttlefish ended up being my favorite. I wish I had brought back more. This location was clean and the customer service was solid. Overall, I was really happy with my visit.

Today I went back and she told me "no" you cannot pay with a debit card. you have to bring in all cash. I needed $1000. The lady yesterday told me I would have to buy two $500 at a dollar each. Today's woman told me I had to buy four at $250 and $1 each because they had a 250 limit. WTF I know I can go other places, but I needed it for tonight. Food pantry no longer does it and the other 7-Eleven across the street said they cannot do money orders at all.

Just like Japan they have a huge variation of Asian drinks (including soju!), sandwiches (including fruit ones), salads, hand roll sushi, rice balls and our favorite hot fishcake soup which is perfect to wind down the night with! Well, lucky for me, ABC Stores are also located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and if I'm correct, there's like two stores. One store is located by the centerstage of the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and the newer ABC Store is located on the west wing going towards the Foodland Farms store, or a few doors down from Spectrum. Although I don't shop at ABC Stores on a regular basis, I have been known to pop into the store for a snack, or a drink once in a blue moon. While cruisin' a Ala Moana yesterday, I decided to pop on into the ABC Store by the center stage area for a coffee, since I missed my morning cup of joe. Rest-a-sure, whenever one goes to an ABC Store, you'll find a very clean & well organized store. ABC Stores kinda caters to our visiting tourist, as you'll find an array of Hawaii souvenirs, food items, and some really cool t-shirts! Walking into this particular ABC Store, I was taken back at the very nice designs they had for their t-shirts. It definitely shows...it's a large store with a small footprint on the bottom floor, and most inventory on the top floor accessible via escalators. I ended up buying a bag of chips to bring back for our cabin steward (hope he likes it), using the self checkout lane.
