Returned supplies on Monday. Called to inquire about receiving my deposit back on Friday. Was told the kitchen staff was backed up on checking in inventory. I can't think of one reason not to like this place. Well, other than I think they might be part of a larger chain--BUT, it's a locally owned franchise, so there! *sticks tongue out* First off, they're cheap--like, really cheap. How is it possible that in my search for rentable stanchions, velvet rope and red carpet everyone else was going to charge me well over $20 more than ABC? I'm not sure, but I thought I'd give them a try. I currently rent tables and chairs from another source, but now I'm thinking twice. Methinks they might be getting my biz! Secondly, I was not disappointed with their quality of product or service. Trust me, I know all too well that often times you pay for what you get. It's not the case here. What they rented me looked like it was in pristine condition, and it was! I was almost scared to take it with me, in fear of ruining it! (Hey, I know I'm responsible but party accidents happen--especially when complimentary champagne is involved!) And their service was quick, efficient and really nice! In fact, I was supposed to return the party equipment the next day, but I couldn't make it. I called them, explained and they didn't charge me a late fee. Now that's what I call great customer service. They also don't sit there and look over what you rented right in front of you with a fine toothed comb. I was able to get assistance carrying everything in (and out), they printed me up my paper work and I left in less than 5 minutes. I held a special event at an external venue and used ABC Rental Service. The experience was not what I expected. Based on the reviews, I was hoping for a more seamless experience. I can't think of another way to write the review other than to list the pros and cons. Pros: + Very fair pricing and easy-to-browse online system. + Big amount of inventory. Had no issues getting what I needed. + Fast invoicing/payment system. Cons: + Paid for the set-up of my items, and when they came, the deliverymen put the un-assembled items in a pile and prepared to leave. I quickly caught them, and they did assemble the items when I asked. However, I don't think it was their fault, I think they just weren't communicated with. Thank god I caught them before they left... + 5 days after my event, the items still hadn't been picked up from my external venue, despite having a clear pick-up in the agreement for the next day. I had to call and ask them to go to the venue and pick up their things. This was embarrassing. + Some of the people I encountered on the phone were not pleasant to work with. I'm torn here. They clearly have great inventory and deliver to a large part of Northeast Ohio, but can be a bit of a headache. You honestly can't beat the prices, which might have me return in the future, but as an event planner, I do seek a less stressful rental experience. I unfortunately have to update my review. This month I utilized ABC Rental Center for the third time this year, this time I rented linens for my daughters birthday party. The purpose of renting linens was to reduce the single use plastic at the party - I really didn't want to buy those plastic table cloths. When I called to place my order I had their website pulled up & I was talking with the staff about the size and shape of the tables. The tables were round and seat 8 people - which, with the help of the staff, we determined required 60x120 tablecloths. The staff were very helpful over the phone and I was able to use my credit card to place the $100 deposit. I picked up the linens from the store on the Friday before the party. I signed a contract which I later realized had the wrong linens on jt. It didn't occur to me to double check the information on the contract before leaving the store. They provided me the linens on hangers, in clear plastic bags & provided a laundry bag to return the linens in. I was instructed not to wash the linens myself. The next day when we arrived at the venue we found that I was provided with 8' rectangular tablecloths. Of course they didn't fit the tables. I'm not going to lie, I kind of panicked. There was only about an hour left before guests would arrive. Stress was high and I was very upset. I decided to run to the dollar store and grab some of the plastic table cloths I had been trying to avoid. On the way there I called ABC Rental. I told them what happened; that I was given the wrong size and shape table cloth. I was calm until I was told "well if you'd said they were round tables there's no way we would have given you that size." That was it, I lost it. I was crying in frustration & couldn't believe that I was being blamed for this error. The staff person went on to tell me that she was the one to take my order and that I must had ordered the wrong size & I had not mentioned the tables were round. Crying, I proceeded to recall my recollection of our conversation- how we had discussed they were round tables that sat 8 & determined the linens would be 60x120. I inquired that maybe she made an error by me saying the tables sat 8 (or since I ordered 8 of them) since I was given 8' cloths. At this point, we were just arguing over who was wrong. I seriously could not believe it. I asked her "is there anything that you can do about this other than tell me I'm wrong?" She told me that if someone could come to their store they would provide me with the correct linens. I glanced at the clock - their store is located in Parma and our venue was in Rocky River. There was 40 minutes before guests would arrive - it just wasn't possible to get there and back & decorate before the party would start. I took a breathe and thanked her for the offer, but it just wasn't possible. I told her I would like to speak with a manager instead. I was informed that the manager was out of town and wouldn't be back for a few days. I told her that I looked forward to receiving a call from the manager before the end of the week. Back at the party, I put the plastic table cloths on the tables. My dad had the idea of folding the cloths and using them as a "runner" on the tables. So I did ultimately use the cloths. It wasn't what I imagined - and after having paid $84 to rent table cloths, it's not what I paid for. The party went on, but afterward I continued to be angry and disappointed. The next Monday my mom returned the table cloths for me - because I just couldn't deal with it. On Tuesday or Wednesday of that week I received a voicemail from the same staff person I had argued with that Saturday. In the message she explained that she spoke with the manager and he agreed to give me a 10% refund "which we really never do on linens." I received a follow up e-mail from her with my new invoice - I would have a few dollars refunded plus the $100 deposit. Three weeks later, I haven't received any follow up from the manager. I e-mailed the staff again a week after the rental to find out when I could expect the refund and deposit to be credited to my credit card since they still hadn't. She informed me it could take up to 10 days, which it took about 8. All in all, it was just a really terrible experience. I am truly appalled by the lack of customer experience I received - and to be accused of being in the fault was ridiculous. Afterward I found the notes I was taking while placing my order & confirmed that I ordered 8 60x120 tablecloths. The total was going to be $84.67. Furthermore, the manager couldn't be bothered to address the issue personally. I appreciate the 10% discount but truly doesn't make up for the otherwise complete disregard for maintaining a client relationship. read more

Khory was a great help to us in getting a tent set up for our rehearsal dinner. Our situation was a little unusual, as we were essentially having a rooftop party, with a tent needed for the third-floor mezzanine of our apartment building. While we were aware that the conditions and holiday weekend would factor into the cost, we weren't quite prepared to handle a cost that surpassed that of the catering and bar just for the tent (as given by another company). ABC, on the other hand, provided an excellent and workable quote, and Khory expressed excitement for the opportunity to try something new after surveying the site. On the day of, Jordan and his three-man team worked very efficiently, having a 30x30-foot tent set up in less than an hour. They offered some very creative additions, including tent lights, but due to cost, we had to decline. It did, however, show that they were very involved with the work and making things the best they could be. Unfortunately, the weather forced us inside and prevented us from actually using the tent during the event. However, it was impressive to see that their structural engineering held up to the high wind speeds, and the tent was unmoved. Ultimately, as the weather calmed down, our guests still congregated under the tent to get some air. The next morning, Jordan and his guys arrived promptly and took down the tent in even less time. These guys are consummate professionals, and perform at a great price. Use them for your next event! read more

Rented a stump grinder on a Saturday and it malfunctioned early in the job ... these things happen. I returned it and reserved it for the following weekend. We agreed on a fair rental compensation for my inconvenience for the next weekend's rental and the unit worked flawlessly. Very nice, reasonable people to work with in my experience; would rent there again. read more
