We needed a second ignition key for our 2001 Mazda 626. Our key has a chip inside. I called Ace Hardware that advertises they clone smart keys - said they coudn't do it. I called another major locksmith in town and they said they needed the key code (long lost) and would have to order a blank. I called the Mazda dealer and they quoted $155. My wife then reminded me she saw ABC Locksmith with a sign out front about car keys. I called and they said they had a Mazda blank in stock and could program the key for a total of $85. This place blew me away today! I own an ATM and lost the key for the lock box (not your standard key). I called another locksmith first and they were like "we can't do those, but call ABC Locksmith, they probably can!" And they could. I called 3 different times for different reasons and they always answered the phone, even tho they were obviously busy. And they're super nice. A new ATM lockbox was going to cost me around $450. So I had braced myself for the cost of the new key...$23!! And a second, backup key...$8 more! And it took him about 5 minutes to make it. He said they could make a duplicate Honda car key for me too (with the buttons to lock/unlock/alarm.) I thought I had to get those from the dealership! I took my car there to have a chip key made and whoever was working on it (possibly the owner) was in such a foul mood that when he got frustrated that his machine would not communicate with the car, he started beating on something inside my car so forcefully that I could hear it clear as day from inside the store. On top of that, they couldn't even program the key. I don't care what kind of day you're having, to beat on your customer's property is totally unacceptable!!! Needless to say, I will never return to this place and I will dissuade anyone else I know from using them as well!!!! I only received a single key for a 2014 Mustang I purchased a couple of weeks ago. The quote to have a second key was $160 or so from the dealer. I spoke with a locksmith last week but did not hear back after an initial conversation and a quote of $45 to cut and program a key I purchased from Amazon for $20. I purchased a second spare key in the meantime and planned to program it myself once I had two working keys. This afternoon I called ABC Locksmiths a little before 4:30. I was given a quote of $37 to cut and program the key and was told they close at 5:00pm. I drove straight there and arrived around 4:45. They cut both keys and programed both for $39 total in about 10 minutes. Highly recommended! read more

I needed a spare car key, and went out of my way to visit ABC Locksmiths because of the great reviews they had. I figured going to my dealer would be much more expensive and I liked the idea of supporting a local business. Unfortunately, I did not have the same great service and experience others seemed to have. It appeared Arie was having a bad day, and that definitely reflected in his service. He was abrupt and terse with me, and did not communicate with me - for example, when going to check to see if the new key would work I my car, he strode outside, opened my car and sat down in it with absolutely no word or warning to me. I did not appreciate this but did not complain because I could tell he was in a mood and figured the key would work, which meant I could get out of there and be on my way. The key apparently did not work. I learned the machine they use to cute keys has been freezing up 1-2 times a day since a software update (this was relayed to me by Michael, who was also working and appeared to have great customer service. He, unfortunately, was not helping me). The machine froze up while I was there and apparently did not cut the key correctly. Arie apparently tried again, which apparently did not also work. At this point he said to me "Ma'am, I'm going to have to tell you we can't make this key" somewhat rudely and that was it. No explanation and no way for me to know if the issue was with my key, my car, their machine, or something else. This whole experience put a damper on the rest of my day. I called my dealer the next week, and they were able to order a spare key based on my VIN. They cut they key, which works great! And best of all, it cost me the same ABC quoted me - $25. I'm very disappointed in the service I received at ABC Locksmiths. I understand everyone has bad days, but that service was unacceptable for a business where customer service and happy customers are important. read more
