First of all, don't just look at my 1-star review and think I have it out for this establishment…read more You don't even have to take my word for it --- just take a look at the "not recommended" reviews down below (they get pushed down to the 'not recommended' section usually if the Yelp reviewer has a brand new account or hasn't reviewed many businesses before -- but keep in mind that's not necessarily a legit reason to completely disregard them). Just read some of the horror stories about this nightmare of a childcare center. EVERY SINGLE REVIEW raises red flag. I'm still so angry and upset about my child's experience at this place, I can't even begin to explain it in a full review. It makes me furious just to write this and I am choking up and holding back angry tears. My son was physically abused -- LITERALLY CHOKED -- to the point that he had MARKS AROUND HIS NECK -- by one of the staff members here, and of course I reported them to the authorities and the childcare licensing board, complete with photos of the marks left on his body. He was only four years old and completely helpless to defend himself against this awful person. That day when I picked him up, he was very quiet and didn't want to talk. He was wearing a t-shirt that went up to his neck and there was, at first, no obvious sign of trauma, or else I would have IMMEDIATELY addressed it with the staff at Jack and Jill. I was worried about him due to his strange, quiet mood (very unlike himself) that evening so I decided to draw him an early bath and see if that would help him feel better. It was then, when we were getting ready to take off his t-shirt, that he told me, "Mommy, my neck hurts, please don't pull my shirt off." I began to look at what he was talking about --- and I was absolutely shocked. He described to me in detail (and yes I understand that this is a child's viewpoint so I did take this with a 'grain of salt' when evaluating the whole situation after the fact) how it was "nap time" and he was laying down on his mat but couldn't sleep and the caretaker was becoming irritated with him for being so fidgety. Apparently she lost her temper and suddenly snapped, grabbed his blanket, wrapped it around his neck, and choked him with it until he began to cry and promised to be quiet. It's disgusting! I never did get a response from the childcare board, never found out whether or not this employee still works there, and I don't think nearly enough was done in the way of investigation or resolution on this case. I was told there was not enough "evidence" nor any witnesses to corroborate my little boy's "story." I guess the BRIGHT RED STRANGULATION MARKS AROUND HIS NECK and the PHOTOGRAPHS I submitted into evidence weren't enough????! Please parents, for your children's safety, keep them far away from this awful place. That monster could still be working there and the management did NOTHING about any of it.

And I have compassion for the people running this business and genuinely hope they can do a better job to service the kids and families that go there-- but as it stands I would never recommend this place to anyone. I have to give a one star review for these reasons and I hope this daycare does better to address these issues: 1. Inappropriate/abusive behaviors from the staff. I saw the staff director yelling at the children multiple times. She forced a crying child shamefully into a corner when she couldn't get all of the children under control by angrily yelling commands at them. It appeared there was no other teacher there and she wasn't able to manage the classroom by herself. 2. When I saw a 2 year old child be picked up by his arm on two separate occasions (while flailing and upset) by a teacher and I addressed it with the director asking for her to deal with it anonymously she proceeded to tell the teacher it was me, instead of addressing the staff member and taking action. The teacher then proceeded to treat me and my child in a shitty way from then on out even though we had warm interactions previous to this incident. I was simply worried about children getting injured. 3. I saw a teacher hitting a child on the head with a pen to get his attention, this same teacher was yelling at children almost every day I came into the class room. 4. Abuse of power dynamic between business/parents and unprofessional behavior: I was threatened rudely to be kicked out for not answering non-emergency calls on two separate occasions spanned out months between each other. I understood their frustration but the threats were unwarranted considering there wasn't an emergency when I missed the call. When I said that I had other people on the list they were able to call the assistant director didn't want me to sass her back with facts and angrily ended the discussion. 5. Unprofessional behavior- my co-parent and his family, and my mom told me on multiple occasions the staff was bad mouthing me to them 5. Lack of training in childhood development. When the children are upset, no one addresses their emotions they just let them cry it out on the floor, or tell them they are "big kids" so they shouldn't behaving in certain ways. My daughter was very emotionally frustrated, and yelled a lot after coming out of this environment 6. There is no type of code for parents to come in the building but not let weirdos in, which never felt very secure to me. There's more, but those are the big ones so I'll leave it at that.

We feel that the price was fair in what they do for the kids at school. Little lites has done well in the early education aspects of things to help prep our kiddo for school. Kids will be kids.. if any injuries took place we were notified via text the moment anything thing happened. We're glad to have had little lites in our life.

We were deeply disappointed by this preschool's refusal to even meet and evaluate a child with a…read morephysical disability -- a child who is cognitively on track, meeting all developmental milestones, and independent in self-care. They informed the state that they "do not accept children with disabilities," which is alarming for any licensed program. Their website claims they help every child "shine" and provide a place where children are "safe, valued, and encouraged to grow," yet their actions toward this child reflected the opposite. It's deeply troubling to see a school that promotes Christian values choose exclusion over compassion.

A unfortunate event happened yesterday at Little Bear Daycare/Preschool. 11/05/2021I was ending my…read moreday at work, I drive to pick addy up at little bear (her school) I arrive they let me in, I walk to Addys class, Lorrie the " owner" walks into the class room, she goes over to the wall bends over, grabs this piece of the wall that addy tore while taking a nap, anyways she was slapping the plastic border on the wall, she said YOUR DAUGHTER DID THIS you need to pay for this, i said Lorrie I will not pay for that, she's in your care, and your teachers should have been watching her, where was the teachers? " we thought she was sleeping" Then her teacher Christine said " we rubbed her back and thought she fell asleep, then proceeded to say she was playing with blocks. I said okay was she sleeping or playing with blocks, again who is watching her? No one? You should be mad at yourself that you allow yourself not to pay attention to these kids. I will not pay for it. Lorrie comes storming over to me, gets in my face, and said " you need to pack your daughter and her things, you need to get out of my school, today is your last day, I said okay. I gathered her things. Her teacher Christine, said I'm sorry I don't know why she has an attitude and it always like that. I emailed her, I asked for the video footage, and Addys files. Her response was highly inappropriate. (Her response in the picture. ) I get into the car, addy told me (" mom Lorrie scared me, she said " you need to grab your things and get out of your class room when your mom comes to get you) and that Lorrie poked her in the chest. Lorrie and her daycare has no sanitation, they attack children verbally and physically, unorganized, Lorrie's office upstairs smells like urine because her dog sits up there you walk on paperwork. She doesn't have her finances in order, she will harass you every day about your schedule. If I could write more I would. I have a lot more situations, and dates I reported.

If you do not place an expectation or boundaries; how is she suppose to listen? I was talked down too multiple time by to "owner". If she really is the owner I believe she needs to reevaluate herself and learn professionalism. Incidents happened every week, I heard about them from my child but never once did I hear about it from a teacher. One teacher told my child she was very bad for speaking. No rhyme or reason. She could have rephrased, "hey the other kiddos are trying to rest. It is quiet time."; would have been better. Another or same teacher (unsure) told my child none of the kids wanted to be her friend. That's very harsh to say to a 4 year old! Kids were always out side from moment of drop off till pick up; even on the worst weather days. Live problems happened 2x in one month. Now that's typical for a school. When she sent a secondary email. I simply asked if they were cleaning the carpets too. And she responded " ???? Of course. Why do you ask?" I said out of curiosity. But truthfully out of common sense. Lorrie, ask why I didn't make a conference plan with her to speak about said concerns. I honestly did not feel comfortable enough to do so, considering the last few very uncomfortable and unprofessional interactions I've had with her. Also I've heard she got into parents faces before and yelled; plain old irrational. Now I know the "owner" may see this and leave a response trying to defend her "precious" business. But, don't let her fool you. The place deserves to be shut down. Child neglect, verbal abuse, maybe even physical abuse (who really knows).
